Hello, I would like some help to understand how postings works for Service and maintenance module (IFS V8).I need to use operations and time reports on work orders but the use of these functions create postings on which I have some issues. After authorizing postings, when I want to change WO status to Finished, I get an error message : " There is no project cost/revenue element to code part value ". I tried to Exclude from project follow-up the involved code part value but I had another issue when I changed WO status "Project Connections cannot be created for this account". I would like to know how to configure postings/accounts in order to finish work orders with operations and time report ? Is it required to set up a project cost/revenue element to use postings in Service and maintenance module ?Also, I don't understand what is the link between work orders and project because in my tests I never linked work orders with project activities, Regards,Nicolas

I tried to change the initial and related query not to sync the OPEN task_status type task. I put the where conditions in sync like Task.task_id Not equals to OPEN . Once I update the task_status to Open and put any owner its getting synced to mobile. I don't want this data to sync

I have a customer whose industry is Textiles (rolls of fabric).  The fabric can stretch during the manufacturing process.  For example a roll might be 2000 ft when it is loaded onto the ream, at the end of production the fabric stretched and we were able to produce 2020 ft.  We have set up the roll as Reserve/Issue of Manual and the other components as reserve/backflush from floor stock.The customer does not run 1 roll of 2000 ft but more like 10,000 ft.  What I am finding is that even though we have set up our rolls as Manual (reserve/issue), the system wants to overcome from the next roll.  If we select ‘simplified’ on the receipt of shop order, then we receive an error on the items to be backflushed from floor stock.Ideally we would want to be able to select simplified for the rolls and backflush for the other components.How would we set this up to accomplish this?  This is a typical industry requirement.Thank you!

HI all (this is IFS2003 - I know, I know...) I recall someone long ago creating a Saved query that could be shared amongst our users, that looked for (say) Approvals for that user. The dynamic code meant it could be passed around without need to change the Advanced query.For instance, instead of USERID  = ‘BLOGGSF’,I thought we could use USERID = (select Ifsapp.fnd_session_api.get_fnd_user()from dual)but this generates the error “fnd_session_api is not a procedure or is undefined”How can I get this to work, or is there an alternative?Would be good to do this for PersonId too.  Thanks

Hi using apps 10 and trying to set up auto reserve and issue of shop order material and have come across a material availability issue below. I have set the Reserve/ issue form location on the part structure and check to see there is available stock on hand but when i go to auto reserve the material I'm presented with the below error message. but when i check the available inventory on Inventory part in stock is shows 144L of part 116767 available in location 18694 which is Picking type. Why is the reserve and backflush visualization showing 0 available ?regardsJamie

FIFO is the recommended Inventory part Valuation Method for our organizational users by the Finance Department. However, we noticed that some of the part creators in IFS in the past have incorrectly created parts with Standard Cost with ‘Cost Per Part’  at Cost Level. There are already transactions in IFS with this incorrect valuation method. (There are couple of Parts with ‘Cost Per Lot Batch’ at Cost level as well) .  Now I need to change those parts’ Inventory valuation Method back to FIFO. What type of impact will it have if I change them directly in the Inventory Part window? (Plan is to have FIFO with ‘Cost Per Part’ for the majority of the parts and Weighted Average with ‘Cost Per Lot Batch’ for the rest)  One of the special scenarios we use is that we receive via ‘Receive Inventory Part’ the project leftover quantities (since they were previously paid by the project) at zero cost which reduces the inventory unit cost overall. We are using the Service Quotation functionality. We are updating costs via the Operations and Other Demands tabs (within the Work Order tab).When performing updates which change the Cost or Selling price of a quotation, the ‘Calculation Required’ field should become ticked to indicate that the user should perform a RMB ‘Calculate Total Cost and Quoted Price’. However, there are certain actions that do not tick this box, even though the actions themselves will have an effect on the Cost and Selling price. I have noted below the instances of where this box does/doesn’t tick. The end result is that users can potentially proceed with a quote, without the totals in the ‘Quotation Totals’ tab being accurate. Does Tick Creating new line in Operations tab Deleting line in Operations tab Changing Sales Part in Operations tab Creating new line in Other Demands tab Deleting line in Other Demands  tab Changing the Cost field in Other Demands  tab  Doesn't Tick Changing Planned Hours in Operations

Hi all, We would like to connect documents to mixed payments in IFS, but when I look to “Document Basic: Object Types for Access Control” and I go to Object Type MixedPayments, then I don’t see “Get_Document_Access” available as method. Is that correct, or do I miss something here? thank you!Kurt

Hi,We are in the process of upgrading from Apps 7.5 to 10 and all the standard reports in Apps 10 are displaying the Standard IFS BW logo, post upgrade:How can we replace IFS logo with our custom logo?I uderstand this logo file IFSlogbw.gif is under D:\IFS\<instance>\repository\server\reports\stdlogo folder.We tried replacing but the new logo isn’t getting picked up, which may be due to the fact that the logo file resides in a database table - report_logos_tabQuestion - Do we need to replace the IFSlogbw.gif file with our custom logo and perform a reconfiguration to deploy the new file into the DB?Is this the right approach?Note: We dont have access to Report Designer and only looking for the custom logo to show up in Operational Reports instead of IFS logo.TIA!

In Apps 10 UPD 10, we use Create Consolidated Pick List for Shipment. it is grouped by Warehouse.  I see nothing in the app or in IFS documentation that would let us sort the picklist by part number or anything like that. If we can sort that way, it will assist the picker to see all of the same part together, especially relevant for large multi order shipments.  Am I just missing it? What order is a pick list sorted by, by default? it does not appear to be by location or by order # or by part #.Thanks

Hi,I would like to know if it’s possible to generate automatic transport task from Warehouse Navigator on IFS 9 ?We have 2 remote warehouse :Site A Remote warehouse 1 Remote warehouse 2I would like parts in warehouse 2 to be refiiled from warehouse 1.I went to Warehouse Navigator and saw there is two ways to refill our parts ( Stock or Buy).Refill as Buy is working well → generate PO But when we put Stock nothing happens → I would like Stock create a transport task, is it possible ? Maybe it’s not the right way to do it, if you have any solution I am open to suggestions  . 

Is there a way to invoice a Service Contract in IFS Apps 10, Upd 10 without going through a Customer order / Invoice?
