Service (Touch Apps, MWO, MRO)

Hello, The customer would like if the dispatcher in the backend could manually process the time stamps that a technician has to set (e.g. working, completing the work etc.). I have thought about the Clock In and Out functionality, but it seems like it has some limitation when the assignment is already transferred to MWO.For example, even if I clock in and choose a time and date, the fields Assignment start and Work start are not being filled in.The same happens when I clock out. The system allows me to do this, but there is no data populated.I have also tried to enable Allow Clock in automatically on site level, but there is also no data populated.Do you have any ideas here? Thank you very much,Iulia

Good Afternoon When I open the IFS MWO Service application,  I cannot see any objects in the object page.  however in the IFS MWO Maintenance application the objects are visible. I’ve checked the user and company for both IFS MWO service and IFS MWO maintenance and both are connected to the same company and site. I’ve looked on the community and there’s other questions around IFS MWO Maintenance but no mention for the service app. This is for IFS cloud 23r1 

We’re using workflow configs in Apps 10 and I can’t find any guidance on how the Filter for Source Connection is supposed to work. I’ve set it to Task Template Worklist but there doesn’t appear to be a way to specify any criteria. Has anyone used this and can explain it please. Thanks

Hi Experts,I appreciate for your input on following issue.The Customer has a central site named “UK300” which is always the WO Site and does not hold stock. Stock will be held on sites “UK172”.Mobile user is connected to Parts in Site UK172. Warehouse and Assortments parts connected to the same Site. Work order is created for site UK300. (WO and object connected tosite UK300) When a Task is dispatched, the Technitian can see all task details and his stock in Mobile. Even he can see Material orders connected to Site UK172 created from back office.  

Hello Community, Can someone please provide guidance on how to assign “Active Work Orders” in the Service / Maintenance Module in APPS9? When I right mouse button click over an active work order I see “Allocate Resources” but the option is greyed out. I’m not sure if there are some Basic Data tasks I might have missed during setup.  Thanks! 

IFS really need to start investing more in touch apps and the licencing agreements and costs that come with this. Our clients workforce is changing - clients will now have a younger generational workforce that have grown up with smart phones, tablets and access to whatever platform they want on the go. If IFS does not keep up with this change in he workforce and their expectations, companies that are looking for systems that not only perform the functions they want but also are easy to adopt by the workforce, IFS will be left behind. Typically that now to use Trip Tracker it is an expensive SKU, where other systems would have this as part of the solution. Yes you can log in using a URL but this then exposes other data that some companies would not want on employees personal phones. Apps allow access to specific data for specific functions and processes. What are other people’s experience or thoughts on this?

HI,One of our customer is in the process of implementing IFS MWO Service 10. While testing, we found that, if there are any new sales line created in the IFS Application against the Work Task, the line is not getting synced to Mobile app.  Version: App10 UPD 11 IEE, ServiceEngApp - 1.6. Any help in solving the above is much appreciated. Thanks in advance, Sivaganesh M    

Hello IFS Community,We have encountered an issue related to data losses during mWo App initialization, particularly when Work Orders contain attached pictures/Documents at the Task Step level. I have a couple of questions regarding this matter:Question 1: Could data losses happen due to the ‘Initialization’ NOT ‘Force Initialize’? Is it possible for the initialization to result in data loss, assuming there are no Failed Transaction in the queue but there could be pending transactions to Sync?Question 2: We have noticed that there are no warning messages or alerts when a user triggers the initialization or Force Initialize actions. This has led to some technicians mistakenly pressing these buttons. Are there any built-in solutions or settings within IFS that can activate warning messages or implement additional safeguards to prevent accidental initialization?Your insights and expertise on these matters wou

Hi, We are having ongoing issues with our Honeywell android devices running IFS Aurena Scan It 10.We’ve completed a wifi survey and there have been not dropped packets or connection seems good.  Error examples areAn error has occurred - initCommand: Failed to read value from SiteVirtualStructVar.ContractOne or more errors occured. (Function<GetDataCollectionProcessOnline>:Failed to assign a value to Result. Value = ‘True’)Action<StartSession>:Failed to assign value to result. Value=’True’ This can be when they have just completed a Move Handling Unit process and then attempt to do it again. It can also occur when they complete a process, put the gun down to perform the manual task and on resuming using the app get a load of errors.  Any help or troubleshooting tips would be much appreciated.  I’ve attached some screen shots. Our IFS tas server is hosted by IFS.

Hi All, Once Document Requiremnet Profile has been added to for example a project, how we can control adding of those document classes to project?As I have been told u should not be able to close the project status before attaching those DC into project , apparantly is not working. Thanks,Aida.

When invoicing a service contract with an equipment object, we need to find a way to automatically set the object’s location ID as delivery address id on the invoice.  Is there a system functionality enabling this in some way, maybe by a checkbox somewhere or some other setting?We know there are alternative solutions, like custom fields or custom events, but we would like a standard solution if possible. Hello all.One of our sales people has recently swapped from an iPhone to an Android device and is having trouble with the Android version of the Trip Tracker app.It’s all good until they try to End and Send and Expense Only Trip to the Cloud - then Error:ORA:20110: Employee Position is not valid during travel end date.Exactly the same Expense Only Trip can be sent from an iPhone with no problems (I’ve tested a mirror copy of the erroring Trip with my dev iPhone) so the issue definitely resides within the Android app. The error is all the more puzzling as there is no facility for actually specifying an End Date for an Expense Only Trip within the Android app - which is is bit rubbish really. So if the Trip has no End Date, it’s no wonder the Employee Position isn’t valid.. ?Has anyone ever got Trip Tracker to work with Android using Expense Only Trips ?

Hi,When setting the work assignment status to “Pending Completion” from MWO Service app (connected to IFS Cloud 22R2 SU3), it does not trigger a work time clock out.Is that the intended behavior or is it something missing in the design?To my understanding, “Pending Completion” means that the field technician is waiting for something to complete the work. So he is not working on it anymore. He might even be working on some other work while waiting.BRLénaïc

Hi, I’m looking to receive a part via purchase order receipts in MWO but the PO isn’t showing. Does the work task it’s ordered against have to be at a particular status? I don’t want to transfer the task to mobile as the work isn’t being started yet. 

Hi,A simple question regarding possibility to send service report from tablet or smartphone. If you are on iPad for example, the service report can be saved in Files. Our customer is using it to further send the report to it’s customer (there are times, signatures, etc. on the report) so it’s a document confirming that all job has been done on site.  However, on Android devices the report opens in default browser, where you can share it, but not save.When you try to send the report using gmail or outlook it only attaches the name of the link, not the file itself.

Hello,We are using Apps 10 Update 18, and we require the ability to add resources (formerly crafts in Apps8) to our engineers (resources) via the screen Resource Detail->Capacity Basis based on their job role.For example, an electrician would get a default list of resources upon joining the business.Currently our managers are having to manually key this into IFS which is a very time consuming and inefficient process. Has anyone achieved this using core functionality or would this need some sort of custom solution?Please let us know your experiencesThanks

Some of the Work Task from Mobile is completed but in client is staying in Work Started status. when checked about the failed transactions screen, noticed that Work assignment has been removed by another user error shown, but work task ref is not updated.this transaction is due to in mobile when they add additional work task and try to complete.I tried to clear the first failed transactions by resending but still issue persists.

Dear all,  We are implementing IFS Cloud as Field Service Management solution with use of MWO Service on Windows. Since capturing a customer signature for the service report with mouse or touchpad is not very user friendly, we would like to do this via existing signature pads, which can be connected to the laptop (e.g. via USB). Does anyone have any experience with this or know how to achieve this requirement? Best Regards,Hilmar 

Hi All, one of the mobile user has reported below MWO error mentioning that the document upload is waiting, and this error has been there for more than one day. And we tried to check if there are any Failed Transactions and there were no records for the subject user to clear.We tried to expedite the process by connecting Wi-Fi and using Mobile data but it didn't change the status of the error and it's still in ‘Idle’ condition.We are using IFS MWO Service 10 (UPD 9) and this error has been reported intermittently,  Would you kindly advise,1. what could we do to have this 336-document uploaded into IEE and2. Kindly advise if we use initialization can lead to a data loss? Or what could happen if the user use ‘Force Initialization’ option? Many thanks for your kind thoughts and advice.  

Would like to augment WOTask Cost Code Rules with WO Work Type.If Cost Code Rules could take into account the WO Work Type / would provide for additional posting paths.Example:  Rule = Has Customer & Has Warranty (all postings follow same WIP reversal path) Augment that Rule with Work Type:Rule = Has Customer & Has Warranty & Warranty (work type) - Immediate WIP to Final Accts (no WIP reversal)Rule = Has Customer & Has Warranty & Billable (work type) - WIP reversal (per condition).
