Hello IFS Community !
I have a question re. salvage part handling in multi-level repair orders : say I set Repair action to ‘Replace’ status on a serialized subassembly within a product’s multi-level repair order. The subassembly part that needs replaced will therefore appear in the ‘Salvage Part’ tab and I can run a shop order to manufacture its replacement.
Now when all is said and done, IFS won’t let me close the multi-level repair order until ‘all salvage parts are received’ … but what happens if I don’t want to receive said part in inventory because it is broken / non-functional anymore and it is to go into the trash (or recycling) bin ? Isn’t there a way to leave the salvage part in the repair order so it goes out into the ether when I close said order ? Do I have to receive it then scrap it from inventory ?
