We have a generic Person ID that is used at our company, which when used signifies that everyone at the company has access to viewing the document. This generic Person ID is an asterisk (*). When this is listed in the Person ID, there is no security to prevent anyone from viewing the document.I have three questions:1- Is there a way to deny viewing access to a user even when the asterisk is used in the Person ID field?  2- How can I control who belongs to this group signified by the asterisk?3- If the two questions above are impossible, would it be possible to create a warning pop up window event that will prevent specific users from accessing certain classes of documents, and in the moment when the user clicks to view an event it will reject the access? I know how to create pop up warning windows but in using an event, but in this case nothing could fire the event. Any idea or example? Screenshots would be helpful or a tutorial document. 

Has anyone come across the PL/SQL connectionresetting every 3 minutes if unused?If so, how do you resolve this or troubleshoot this. Thank you. 

Hi, currently, our customer has the following requirements:For one certain Engineering Part , eg: Parts-A,after “Engineering Transfer”:in Site-1 , it is manufacture partsin Site-2,  it is purchause partsCan IFS do this? and how?(because manufature/buy is attribute of “Engineering Part”,  not “Part Transfer Template”, seems IFS cannot meet this requirement. )  

I created a custom API that returns one of two values (let’s say ‘0’ and ‘1’). It needs to run every four hours. If the value is ‘0’, then an email needs to go out.While I don’t need help with creating the database task and scheduling it to run, I don’t know how to then get an email to send. Do I make an Event? If so, how do I tie it to the scheduled task? Do I do something else??Let’s assume the Scheduled Task is named “Neraks_Amazing_Task”.Thanks!    

We use IFS10Update6, and have several operational reports that we utilize SSRS for.  I needed to make a change to a couple of these reports, but as of this morning, IFS Data Source is no longer available in Visual Studio (version 19) as an embedded connection type.  I can’t refresh fields on my datasets, and I would imagine this would affect other aspects of report development and deployment as well. I hadn’t made any changes to the Visual Studio software, though I updated the software to see if it fixed the problem, which it did not.  Any ideas on what could cause this to happen and/or potential solutions?  Thank you in advance.

We have recently upgraded from IFS8 to IFS10 and use purchase requisition authorisation. When we were on IFS8, if a purchase req had no supplier it was not possible to authorise it. An error message stating “Authorization denied - Supplier has to be specified”.  We have set up IFS10 the same way but now IFS will allow us to authorize the req.  There are no custom events creating this message, so I think this is a standard message.  Has the standard functionality changed in this area or is there a way I can setup IFS10 to work the same way, or would it need a custom event?  

Hi Community, I need to restrict access to the different nodes in the Aurena navigator.For example, only managers should see the Manager services node in the Human Capital Management.What I noted is that all sub menus under Human Capital management is connected to the client PersonNavigator. When the projection PersonNavigator is granted to the user, all the nodes connected to it are shown regardless user has access.How can we hide the navigator items users are not suppose to see? Regards,Krish

I have 8 users who we are enabling in Aurena for use of Shop Floor Workbench on a mobile device.  7 of the users, with identical permission sets, work just fine but one gets this error - Any ideas? 

Hi, How to create customer order from purchase order ?  I would like to know what basic data setup is needed to setup the functionality in IFS Aurena

I am currently working on starting to build utilization of the jobs and operations of separate standard jobs for the installation side of our company. I am finding that the Jobs/Operations are a bit clunky to work with first off. We will be moving to IFS 10 shortly and I am wondering what is the difference between the operations vs Work Tasks. Will what I create move into there easily, do they function similar? Or am I best off to wait until we move into 10 to turn on this utilization? And if it helps to know we will not be moving into Aurena with this upgrade yet.

Does anyone know if there is a way to schedule a database task using PL/SQL or Package method calls?  I found the information regarding the scheduler syntax but our dates I would like to use are not set in stone and are changed yearly based on accounting periods...

Hello,We have a need to prevent users from cancelling lines that are reserved in customer orders.I thought we had the solution but are stuck with one issue.We created the following Event -  We then created the corresponding Event Action that throws and error when a Customer Order line is cancelled with 1 of our 2 reasons or no reason. This works exactly as intended on a custom order. The issue that we are running into is if a user RMBs on an order line, selects Manual Reservations and tries to undo the manual reservation before cancelling they get stopped by the error that is meant to block the cancellation of an order line with status of Reserved on the customer order.I believe the issue is centered around the the ROWSTATE changing out of reserved. I cannot figure out why the event action is firing when a condition of the event action is a NEW:CANCEL_REASON. We are on IFS 9 updt 10. Any help is appreciated.Thank you,

Is Oracle 19c support for RAC officially certified now?Per the online documentation it still show that 19c RAC is not supported for either Apps9 or Apps10.  Is this correct?  It looks like the page is very out of date.We are currently running RAC on 12c for both Apps9 and Apps10 and are in the process of migrating to 19c for support reasons.Can someone either point me to an updated reference or copy/paste into here if it is something I cannot see as a customer?Thanks!Nick

Hi, On the Business rule transaction, if we make a search with %Access% (see below), it seems that we don’t have standard rule for access_group and RMA.1/ is it correct ? are Request/RMA stored in the same table and the rule 67 works for both RMA and Request ?Going Forward, in the RMA transaction (Detail tab) it seems that we don’t have a field access group like we have in a request. is it correct ?2/ Could you tell us why we don’ have this field in the main/detail tab  in the RMA (like we have for ECO or Request) ? 3/ On the RMA transaction, it seems that “RMA type” is linked to the global table “Req_type” . if it’s correct ? if yes,  How can we filter this table in the RMA screen to only display “Req_type” that are relevant for RMA.A RMA could be created without a previous request (if the customer make a return directly in the repair center) and in an organization, we could have some repair centers. I recently configured a new permission set, and applied it to a user, but the Lobby shows a “data not found” message: In the Permission Set > Presentation Objects by Component, under IFS Base Functionality > Lobby - ACCOUNTS PAYABLE #TODAY# is selected. However, in Presentation Objects by Navigator Lobby Overview is revoked. I can't figure out the data element I need to grant to get the lobby in view.    I did remove the user’s personal profile, and base profile just to see if that had any impact, and it did not.    Anyone have any ideas as to what Permission Set detail affects the lobby view?   Thanks!

Dear community. I’d like to create a custom event that will be triggered if someone attempts to perform an action that is not allowed by the PLSQL rules. I will use Error_SYS.Record_General to display an error message and perform a hard stop. I would like to be able to also trigger an email at this point to a user to let them know that someone tried to perform the action. The problem i am finding is that the Error_SYS.Record_General stops the commit transaction and also the email that is generate by COMMAND_SYS.Mail. I was thinking of using exception handling etc to get this to work but so far have been unable to. Same goes for creating a second event action, since the Error_sys stops the transaction this didnt appear to work for me either. Anyone have any bright ideas?Many thanks,David.

Hi All, Can anyone assist me with below query ? 'Bad Request' Error is displayed on running the check in of a document after the initial check-in. The document view option provides Bad request error when the document is checked in but not when the doc is checked out.Faults are inconsistent as in some times when trying to check in a new doc against a revision bad request is shown but others it is not same class same format different result.File path has been checked and verified in both application and Middleware.This has been identified as only be exhibited in a Clustered Environment. Further information:Connection method (VPN / direct access etc) ? Issue recreates for both VPN and direct connection Shared patch is accessible from both Primary and secondary node. When a request is created and saved or autoassigned (requireds a save) an error message prevents the save and says there is a mismatch in parameters. Do you think that the issue is that what ever FSM uses to create the pop up is missing\corrupt?F.Y.I.
