Projects Based (Contract/Resource Management, Project Management, Engineering Design & Deliverables)

There is a popup that comes up everytime an employee is added to a project, after their first project.  Is there a way to disable this popup?  

We are trying to edit the Recent Transactions toggle in Project Transactions (Project Management>Reporting>Project Transactions) on to default is off.  I haven’t been able to find this setting to edit, has anyone had success in trying to change this default setting?

When in Project Management>Plan and Execute>Project Scope and Schedule, the ability to search disappears once a project is expanded.   Does anyone know if you can display a Search function once inside an expanded project?  Please see attached screen grabs for clarification.  

Hi everyone!I have a question about the project Gantt chart.Is it possible to hide or exclude certain activities from the project’s critical path calculation?Right now, I’m using an activity to capture revenue from my sales contract, and its duration is based on the project dates. In the Gantt chart, this activity appears as “critical.” In a way, that makes sense — but it’s not the behavior I’m expecting.Any idea to manage that ?  Thanks and regards,Maud 

Hi,I have come across the following scenario in IFS project.1.Customer A has separate pay address and a default visit address - Created two different address in Customer basic data (one for pay and one for visit)2.Apart from those two addresses, there can be situations when there is  a third party  contractor, who  will be considered as the billing contact for the project.What would be the ideal way to set up an additional billing contact in addition to the main customer for the project? 

Hello Community , There is a ask from the customer or change the project group for ongoing approved project . Current Project Group is 10 and its setup as no capitalization . Customer wans to change it to a New Project Group or change the current setup to “Capitalize Revenue”. This is to use revenue recognition from IFS 

Hello Folks,I have run in to an issue (in IFS Cloud 23R1) with connecting a Project to a Sales Contract, where system returns an error indicating that this Project is already connected to a different Sales Contract. Which is true as I have already connected this Project to a Sales Contract that is sitting in ‘Cancelled’ status.Moreover, I have the “PUB(Project Unique Billing Toggle)” turned ON in the Project Setup Parameters for this Project.​​​I tried to remove the Project connection from the ‘Cancelled’ sales contract but system throws in an error preventing me from doing that.  Thereafter I toggled off the “PUB(Project Unique Billing Toggle)” since ideally that should take

In IFS resource planning I have defined a resource group as type Tool/Equipment group plus a connected resource representing a machine. I have defined that the equipment should be possible to use both in Maintenance and Project.I can report hours used on a work order but I cant find where/how I can report consumed hours for the same machine related to a project activity.My conclusion at the moment is the resources defined as Tools cant not be used in Project module to report hours – is that true?

We have a project we are trying to set to complete.  When we Generate Unfinished Work Items, it says there is a Purchase Order Line still open.  The Purchase order was part receipted and an Invoice was processed against this receipt.  The remaining PO balance was then closed.  We have tried Opening the PO and closing but it still won't let us complete the project.

Hi,Primavera P6 EPPM synchronization with IFS Cloud is failing during updating the record. The syncronization is working fine when we are updating  project, subproject and activity for first time from Primvera to P6 but failing during updating same in next synchronization onwards. Below are steps to replacate scenerio.1. Create a Project Header only in IFS.2. Create same Project, Subproject and Activity in Primavera3. Synchrozation Project from Primavera to IFS. It will sucessfully Sync Project, Sub Project and Activity in IFS4. In Primavera , change activity details.5. Hi Community, I am currently exploring some features related to "Resource Management."I have created a resource as a "person group," and the group's capacity is based  individuals within it.I planned the resource on a project and made an allocation for one employee in the group.Based on HR calendar, the employee has some days OFF.I don't understand why the scheduled capacity does not consider this absence in its calculation.When using the "Resource Analysis" screen, project managers can view resource scheduling, but it appears that the capacity is not adjusted for absences.Has anyone else encountered this issue? Is this expected behavior?  

I’ve got a new revision in sales contract with Audit Trail enables and a Sales Contract is required.  I’m not able to connect the sales contract to my line item and wondering what I’m missing.  Is there a process that I’m missing?  Any ideas will be helpful.  

 There is a scenario where a report code is valid from 01/01/2026 to 12/31/2026. These validity dates are maintained consistently in both the Report Code and Report Code Details windows. The Standard Internal Price is also defined using the same validity date range.  We now have a requirement to extend the validity of the report code to 12/31/2027. While the system allows the validity date to be amended in the Report Code window, the updated date is not reflect

When I create an Inventory Part from Project Deliverables is it using an Inventory Template Part?  If not, what’s it use?  If not, is there a way to tell Project Deliverables to use this or that template part?Thanks/Patrick

I have a Manufactured Inventory Part in Project Deliverables and have the Max Lot Size set to 1.  Within PD, the Material Plan shows that I have only 1 shop order.  If I have Max Lot Size set to 1, shouldn’t I have multiple shop orders?Am I doing something wrong?Patrick

Hello, I have run into an issue with a hung POR in an Authorized (not closed state). Unfortunately, I was made aware too late and the project and activity have been closed for a long time. At this point, I am unable to cancel the POR, or disconnect the POR from the project. I’m looking for some way to resolve this, but I have found nothing. Hoping someone has seen this before and can provide some  guidance. Thank you!

Our customer wants to have more detail in his MS Project project than he does in the IFS Project.  Is there a way to prevent rows from being exported to IFS?Thank you

Our customer has a very real scenario the relates to Activity Planned Start/Finish dates.  These dates are used to schedule the project but often, time needs to be reported to the activity earlier or later than the dates when the activity will occur.  For example, we need to plan a design review on May 12th and 13th, that’s what we want to plan for and what we want the customer (internal and external) to see when the project plan is reviewed.  But these is preliminary and follow-on work that must be done for this activity and costs that need to occur before May 12th or after May 13th.  Is there a way to set the project activity to allow time reporting (and cost, but time is most important) that’s outside of the Early Start/Finish of the project activity?thank you.Patrick

Therefore a customer who has a requirement for project traced manufacturing processes that cover complex design solution using IFS Project Deliverables?I'm running into process limitations (?) where I am not able to capture “Project production” on all Sites at the same time because the IFS Project can't cover the planned's planned cost twice (Internal Customer-Supplier Chain) - this makes sense, but not for the internal chain (?).I also wanted to ask about any business case and use of the "Override Site" param./field, on the level of Project Deliverables Component lines?

In Cloud, I am trying to add a resource to a group.  I keep getting a “Capacity basis already exists” error.  The resource does not belong to any other group. I noticed another post from a few years ago for Apps 10, but no one answered the question.How do I get around this error? 

When a person uses Budgeting and Forecasting, they will determine estimates that may or may not match the estimates from the Project (Project Monitoring).  Our customer wants to keep these in sync and is incredulous that we don’t have tools to update the project from the budget/forecast.  At least to the best of my knowledge we don’t.  This forces the user to have to update in Budgeting and Forecasting, then update the project, which can be tedious and prone to error and time consuming.It seems that the logic to update the estimate from the forecast is pretty straightforward.  Has anyone done this?  Is there any move by RnD to add this capability?Thank you./Patrick

I am currently looking into developing our Project Management module for our Engineering group.  However, in reviewing most of the data, it appears that the PM module for IFS is geared more towards product development and external projects.  Our team focuses strictly on inter-company infrastructure improvement and capital equipment.  Am I missing something or is it very flexible?  Is there a better module to do this in?  (I am in software development, not projects or accounting).Essentially, our team needs:5 year project and capital planning tracking including estimated costs with the ability to move projects around. Estimating and planning I did see the capability to manage subcontractors. Tied to some type of financial data for our bean counters to see how everything it tracking day-to-day.If there is some good documentation out there for actually setting this up, much appreciated.
