Cannot re-connect a Project to a Sales Contract (which is already connected to a 'Cancelled' Sales Contract)

Hello Folks,I have run in to an issue (in IFS Cloud 23R1) with connecting a Project to a Sales Contract, where system returns an error indicating that this Project is already connected to a different Sales Contract. Which is true as I have already connected this Project to a Sales Contract that is sitting in ‘Cancelled’ status.Moreover, I have the “PUB(Project Unique Billing Toggle)” turned ON in the Project Setup Parameters for this Project.I tried to remove the Project connection from the ‘Cancelled’ sales contract but system throws in an error preventing me from doing that. Thereafter I toggled off the “PUB(Project Unique Billing Toggle)” since ideally that should take out any restrictions on one Project can go on one sales contract validation. Then I created a brand new Sales Contract (3rd one, 1st once is already “Cancelled”, 2nd one “Proj. connection failed” with an error as seen on first screenshot) since I thought 2nd Sales Contract was created while I had the “PUB(Project

User permission when creating a Shop Order from Shop Order Requisition

We have an access permission problem when converting a “Shop Order Requisition” to a “Shop Order” via the function “Create Shop Order(s)”. Normally we can quickly find the missing projection by using the log window in debug mode.But in this case, the log does not show any missing projection in the log files (The projection “ShopOrderRequisitionHandling” is already fully granted). What could be the reason for this and how can we find the missing projection(s)?

Sales Contract Planned Revenue Issue

Dear Colleagues,I encountered an issue with Sales Contract reporting Planned Revenue. There are 4 contracts and only one does not report Planned Revenue. The settings are the same - posting rules, Revenue Codes, definiton of items, etc. TEST is the last one which I created from the scratch with the same settings as W-0002. The prerequistions for reporting Planned Revenue seem to be fullfilled: Any ideas for further checking are very welcome :)Thanks in advance.

Change management can be achieved with SoW Production, however, this does not allow you to update the Sales Contract by Contract Item.

Schedule of work estimate change management - We would like to use SoWE for change management as this requires a greater level of detail than that in the Sales Contract. The customer has a very specific need for presenting invoices which does not align with the detail in the SoWE. I am aware that change management can be achieved with SoW Production, however, this does not allow you to update the Sales Contract by Contract Item. It seems that at this point, it can only be done if the Sales Contract is set to ‘Contract Change Order Change Capturing Level = Cost or Revenue Element’Could anyone explain this behavior?

Functionality of the toggle 'update without project activity' in schedule of work estimate

We are generating a Sales Contract to enable AFP. We then link that Sales Contract to a Project and in turn generate a Schedule of Work Estimate (SoWE) from the project to allow us to build out the estimate. Having built out the estimate, we connect to the Sales Contract and send over the data from the SoWE based on Revenue Sub Project lines. So far, all good. The Sales Contract Revision and Items contain the data based on what was sent over from the SoWE. However, when we select items within the lines and choose the button option ‘Activities’, there are none showing. The Customer would have expected to see the connections as when passing over from the SoWE, there is an option that says ‘Update Without Project Activities’ and we do NOT activate that. Instead, we find ourselves having to make the connection manually. Is there a way to connect them automatically? What is the function of that toggle?

Project : Planned Cost in Margin Not Linked to Cost Elements in Monitoring

Project Deliverables - Shipment Address

We have run into an issue that I would like to bring up in the community. It could be that we have missed a piece of existing functionality or we might face a gap that we have to navigate around somehow.We are using Project Deliverables to design a number of products to be shipped to the customer project site (new address for every project). There are multiple shipments created for a project, up to 40 deliveries (shipments) is not uncommon. I was expecting that a Project Address could be used to define the shipment address. When looking closer at the project address it is our understanding that it only defines the delivery address for purchase orders.If our finding above is correct the first thought is to create a customer address of type Delivery. This is of course possible. However we can’t find anywhere we can set-up what delivery address to use for the Project/Project Deliverables. The only place we have found so far is to create a shipment plan and change the delivery address. But

Project and Cascading Cost

We are currently using IFS 10/UPD 18. We currently have all parts setup as average cost/cost per part. We also use the project system for shop order processing. Our issue is that due to IFS cascading cost revaluation entries, projects we have closed completely, from the project itself to the financial project, are being created. These are due to average costing changes. We understand the cause. The problem is that outside of the fact we do not want a project to be touched after it is closed, these same transactions become posting errors because the project is closed. The only way to get them to post is to open up the financial project, open up the project and open up the activity. Outside of turning on lot/batch control/changing the project after it is completed, to non-capitalization, does anyone have a superior solution? Thanks,Rich

Mass issue inventory par from project materiels and services

Hi Community, I have a question regarding the project module. On the materials and services screen, I have some misc parts that I will supply using MRP. Once the reservation of the parts done, is there any option to do issue in mass all the parts ? It seems that the option is only available for each line individually. There is a possibility to create a project pick list but it seems to be a report and not linked to any logistic process. Any idea or suggestion regarding this process ? Thanks,

Budget Control on specific Activity Level

Hi Team,We have below requirement:We have implemented budget control in IFS only on certain ‘controlled’ WBS (activities), there are other activities which have a budget and are not controlled or have no budget at all.As well as having this control on an individual activity level the system is also applying it at a project level, so if the spend against all activities is greater than the total budget against all activities it stops purchasing. We do not want this. We only want it applied at the specific activity level.There is an option for ‘Control on total budget’ but this relates to what ‘cost elements’ are included in the calculation. We only have two cost elements (COST and REVENUE) so this doesn’t really do anything.Can we look into whether it’s possible to turn this control on the total budget off somehow?So essentially we use the below toggle to turn budget control on for projects and apply it for any activity that has an entry in the ‘Project Budget Control Rules List’What

Ressource capacity and absence

Hi Community, I am currently exploring some features related to "Resource Management."I have created a resource as a "person group," and the group's capacity is based individuals within it.I planned the resource on a project and made an allocation for one employee in the group.Based on HR calendar, the employee has some days OFF.I don't understand why the scheduled capacity does not consider this absence in its calculation.When using the "Resource Analysis" screen, project managers can view resource scheduling, but it appears that the capacity is not adjusted for absences.Has anyone else encountered this issue? Is this expected behavior?

Resource Group Selection in Time Registration

When a person is connected to an resource group and when that resource group is their primary resource group the resource group is fetched correctly in time registration. But I am able to see the other resource groups and able to select other resource groups and saved the record too.An employee should be only seeing the resource groups only connected to them and not all the resource groups which in the company. Any solution for above. Our employees work in multiple resource groups and they are tagged in for specific resource groups?

Why is it needed to perform a refresh of project connections

Dear all,Does anyone know in which scenarios it is necessary to perform a refresh of project connections? I have a customer who occasionally experiences issues that are resolved with such a refresh, but this occurs very rarely. Advance Payments for Sub & Sales Contracts

Handling of Advance Payments for Sales and Subcontracts are not handled by IFS in the respective modules themselves. Always I had used a workaround solution such as Mix Payments to handle advance payments. Clients expect that to be an embedded feature like Retention in Sales & Subcontracts. Could anyone propose a solution here plz?

Update project deliverable after updating PDM structure (Growing BOM)

I’ve got the following scenario:I created a first version of a BOM in EPDM and imported this via Cadlink in IFS. Result Engineering parts (and structure) are created.I selected the parent part of the BOM to a project deliverable and selected the option copy PDM structure all levels. Result the components of the structure are created as Project Deliverable components. So far so good.Than the BOM in EPDM is updated (new revisions of components or new components added), via Calink the changes are added to IFS and added to the engineering “structure”.Now i want to update my project deliverable to with the changes made to the parent part and underlaying parts, but with the option Copy PDM structure all levels , the full list of components is added again so of lot of components are double in the project structure.Any ideas?Kind regards,Vincent Heijmer

Difference of Project Demand part and PMRP part

Hi Team,I have created a customer order with a line for inventory part. Then I created a Project from customer order and created a activity in the project and released it too.Then connected the activity to customer order line and ran PMRP. This creates a Project supply request and when I receive the PO, I do have a part to reserve to customer order line. Here there is no option to issue the part to Project. What is the reason for this ? Is this beacuse it was directly created without Project demand ? Now, If I create a Project demand for same part, create PR and then PO from that demand and receive the stock to business, It get reserve to Project demand line and I could issue it. Yet this part will not be available to resevrve to customer order line. what is the reason for this ? is there a reason to make this avilable for Customer order line reservation ?

Setting up Cost Breakdown Structure (CBS) Project Management

New Application for Payment, Project ID field is blank, why?

From Sales Contract I’ve started the creation of a new Application for Payment (AFP). In the dialog, shown below, there is a field called Project ID. The pulldown has no values, not even for the project to which the sales contract is connected. What is this field for? How is it used? Why aren’t there any values inserted by the application when the dialog is opened? Example AFP showing Project ID

What parameter defines the default dates in Project Transaction Review?

When the user opens the Project Transactions Review screen or presses reset, the system appears to be insert the current week (Monday thru Sunday). Might there be a setting that controls this? Our customer is not happy that the dates are being set as a default and wants them to be blank.Thank you.Patrick
