Hello,We are in the process of upgrade from IFS 8 to IFS 10. I noticed Customer_Info_Comm_Method_Api is no more available in IFS 10. I am looking for function get_default_phone(customer_no),before i rewrite it in IFS 10 for our internal use, i wanted to check if someone knows whether IFS added this function in some other API or any replacement for Customer_Info_Comm_Method_Api.If someone have some document where IFS disclose such db changes, that might be helpful too.ThanksUzma 

Hi everyone How can I add new person to” Executed By” section in Separate PM Action tabs

Looking for feedback on an easy method to view and copy access from one user to another.  For example, when a new employee is created they need added in many different areas of the IFS system before they can perform their job.  I’ve listed a few as an exampleDocument Management Basic Data Approvals Quality  Shop Floor Employee Basic Data Users per User Group Purchase Requisitions user Site Settings WADACO processes Maintenance Resource Time Clock TerminalIs there a method in IFS to run a report that shows you where a user ID is used in these areas so if there is a new hire, or role change - you can make the necessary changes in the system?  I imagine you could get this data from the User Security Report or Object Security Report with the right criteria.

Hi all,We are running a production with a considerably amount of programming (cad/cam/dtp) between operations. We need to register the time used. For that we have created a the work center, Programming. The routing can look like this:This leaves us with some challenges. The main one is that programming can finish before and after the other operations. E.g. operation 20 can finish before operation 10 (not possible in IFS) and the other way around.We suspect that we should do this in another way. Any suggestions? 

Hi,Last sunday we cloned the PROD database to our TEST enviroment. After that the TEST enviroment is not working anymore. When I start IFS test the following error pops up:  THE URI: https:"LINK_OF_IFS_TEST_AS”:58080/fndext/clientgateway/ cannot be found. Please contact your sys admin. Error 404 - Not Found. Does anyone recognized this problem or knows the solution? Best regards,Bram

Hello, I have created a saved search that uses Sum and Grouping. I’ve built the Lobby element, and it is rendering correctly. However, I’ve updated the Navigation to give the user the ability to be taken to the saved search data when they click the Lobby element. When I click the Lobby element, it takes the user to the IFS screen, however, it seems to be dropping the Sum and Grouping. Is this simply a limitation of the Lobby navigation, or is there additional configuration that is needed on the Lobby element? Any help would be greatly appreciated. 

Hello I would like to check how the AR/AP netting functionality can be applied for intercompany netting.Scenario: Companies with in same group and the same instance of IFS, trade with each other and generate intercompany balances(AP in one company will be AR in another company).For the current netting functionality to be used, both AP and AR balance should be in the same company.Is there a way to net and close these AP and AR balances in different companies instead of making the remittance. ThankYou.

When trying to create migration job for method  Invent_Part_Quantity_Util_API.Move_Part and it’s not possible to save the job but you get error :Error making attribute and references - IntfaceMethodList.ILLARGTYPE:Arguement VALIDATE_HU_STRUCT_POSITION_ has illegal type. Only datatype DATE VARCHAR2 NUMBER allowed Same with Inventory_part_in_stock_API.Issue_Part_with_PostingReason seems to be that there are boolean arguments and this is not supported in data migration. Is there a way around this issue?

We use transaction based parallel currency where accounting currency is in GBP and parallel currency is in USD. Currency rates for both accounting and parallel currency are updated monthly. In this scenario, transaction and accounting currency are the same (GBP). When posting receipt of goods in Month1, Inventory is debited and GRNI is credited.  In Month2, the supplier invoice debits GRNI and credits AP, however, the GRNI amount in parallel currency is different due to a new currency rate, thus the amount in the GRNI account is not fully reversed in parallel currency.  What is the recommended solution to manage these balances when this can potentially affect thousands of transactions?  A gross month-end adjustment? There is concern this creates another set of books to reconcile every month, adding more work for the users.

Afternoon,We are looking at options around flexible working for our engineers, and need to understand the art of the possible.  Currently PSO/360 takes into account holidays and doesn’t allocate work orders in this scenario but we are wondering whether TOIL could work in the same way? Idea being that employees could accrue TOIL and then with management approval use that to work a shorter day or have a day off.We are currently on IFS Apps 8 and version 5.8.2.22 of 360/PSO.Any experience others have or suggestions would be appreciated RegardsShaun

Microsoft Report Viewer is not installed in the FSM. What is happening here, when I m clicking the report in FSM smart client, a new chrome window is opening and  it is redirecting to SSRS report server and the report is displaying in report viewer of SSRS. But the same thing is not happening with FSM web client. 

I have a custom Field in the Sales Price List part window. Now i am trying to update/insert using a Migration Job. Using usual migration job using procedure (Insert/Update from File) gives error (ORA:01003: No Statement parsed.) But i did go through the Migration data into CF but i was not able to get it done. What i understand is that First the data from the file must insert into a TABLE and then migrate into the custom field LU using (Migrate Source Data procedure.) This Excel Migration Guideline document only show EXCEL Migration method but after creating the Mig Job i am not able to execute or start it. I guess it works using Excel Add-ins. Any help would be appreciated.

I am looking to Add a new output channel so that it goes straight to a excel spreadsheet and not in a CSV format. I am wondering if its possible to set it up so that it outputs to a .xlsx format?I have tried doing it but it wants me to click ‘csv’ , ‘xml’, ‘txt’ or HTML even once I have clicked ‘use other extension’. Anyone got any ideas on whether this is possible or not ? ThanksCameron

I want to remove it, but am not allowed to:The delete icon is missing.I can’t remember that I attached it to a page. My company is wanting to set suppliers inactive and we know how to set the expiration date on the Purchase Tab > Misc Supplier Info sub-tab but the definition of the field says “The date after which details of the supplier are not to be retained. The expiration date only controls the creation of new transactions in the system for the supplier”. The first bit is what’s throwing us through a loop. Does this mean that IFS will purge the historical records of the supplier (e.g. purchase orders, invoices, etc.)?

Afternoon all, I have come across an issue that I am sure has plagued others before. Way back in the heady days of 7.5 being implemented the business made a decision to opt out of a numerical ID system for our Person and User ID records. Instead we opted for <First Initial><Surname> e.g. NTAYLOR. The problem we have is that one of our users got married and now the Person ID and User ID do not reflect her now taken name and has asked if we can update the Person ID/User ID to correctly reflect her new surname. As these are somewhat key fields within the system I am pretty sure there isn’t a standard way of achieving this as it would need to flush the entire system to update everything that was ever posted with these ID’s. If anyone knows of a way how to do this or (for the IFS employees) if  a data fix exists for this kind of change it would be interesting to know!   Regards Nathan

Hi all, I constantly have to deal with the mutating table error when creating events. Usually I need to: Save (F12) Run some PLSQL in an custom change event (mutating if same table involved) The only solution I know, is to start a background job. However, for some scenarios I need the code to run “online” or lock the UI until the job has executed.   Does anyone has some solutions for this?  

Hi,I want create task automatically based on product selection Bill of material.Suppose if i selected product in request and if that product model or task has BOM,task needs to be created for each model/ part in BOM.I am able create task for product when it is selected in request through XML business rule, is their any way i can create tasks for BOM also,Please suggest.  ThanksRamya
