Hello Everyone,  I have been working with the IFS software for the past 7 years and our team does a lot of data entry manually. E.g. 5 users 100 lines per Customer order and with a minimum of 5 orders a day. Consultants have asked us why we are not using the IFS Excel Add-in (Also called the Excel migration Tool). Which is a excellent question which imitatively raised major concerns from IT due to the tool being called a migration and accessing IFS directly from Excel (read/write/delete?) . I was wondering if any users in this forum have some stories on how it helped their company and what some of the downsides of the tool are. Successfully implementations To which extend is the Excel Migration tool being used (simple/complex jobs/ Data repair?) Restrictions of the tool Security concerns (e.g.can users destroy the tables of the database using this tool) IFS User feedback (greatly increased process and or productivity or used as a last resort due to time crunch)  Looking forward to the

Hi Everyone, We’ve recently upgraded to IFS Application 10 Update 8.  I was asked today to create a Business Report that generated the results in a pivot table format.  In IFS Application 8 with Business Analytics there was a button where I could choose a pivot table but I do not see this option in Business Reporter included in IFS Application 10 Update 8. Has the feature been removed?If so how do we generate a pivot table output using Business Reporter. Thank you,William Klotz

System IFS Apps10 UPD8 Is it possible to create a drill down to an IAL or information source? I have create a lobby chart element and the data source is an IAL.  The user has requested the ability to drill down to actual detail and cannot see a way to do this. For now I have created a quick report to the IAL and passed the year and week no that the user has clicked on in the chart but the quick report parameter dialogue box is displayed (with the year/week no) and the user has to click OK.  I was hoping the parameter window would be somehow hidden and just opened the report.Thank you.

Hello,Yesterday I posted a question about an Excel Add In Migration error.  I was able to resolve that error.  But the migration job isn’t inserting/modifying the data.  Does anyone know what I’m missing?  So far I haven’t been able to use the online documentation to resolve this problem. This is my migration job (I’ve tried several variations - this is the latest) -  the Search function fetches the records from IFS Validating the data returns Validate OK Execute shows Updated in the Result Column But when I query the results in IFS there has been no change in the Custom Field  I have tried entering the Column Name and the Column Value.  I have also tried leaving them blank.   I have separately tried both the OBJKEY and Contract/Part_no in the FETCHCONDITION Rule ValueINVENTORY_PART.CONTRACT=INVENTORY_PART_CFV.CONTRACT and INVENTORY_PART.PART_NO=INVENTORY_PART_CFV.PART_NOINVENTORY_PART.OBJKEY=INVENTORY_PART_CFV.OBJKEY The results are fetched and shown in Excel using SearchValidate OK a

Hi, does IFS (Apps 10) have native functionality to lock records for editing, or if not, are there plans to implement such a feature?In particular with Work Orders, our Planners are asking whether its possible for a Work Order to be “locked” while they’re in there so others can’t make changes.We are aware this is the intention of the “Under Preparation” status indication on WO’s, but they’re asking whether it can be an automatic lock/unlock instead.

We are trying to deploy e-invoice to generate supplier invoices for the French  Chorus-Pro service and have come across limitations of the e-invoice format. Does anyone have experience of extending the output XML file format to include additional information?

We have a situation where invoice is needed to be emailed as its printed. event action has been created to event pdf_report_created and triggering conditions has been given to match with the report ID. Although report is printed without any issue email is not triggered (Cannot see anything in application messages) what can be the reason for this? 

In FSM Server how to find which Business rules have taken more time to execute . We have enable server log for Business rule and exception to 6 as suggested by IFS case to find the performance lag.But how to find from the server log which business rule taken more time to execute.What parameter and values need to be checked in the server log.  

Hello Community,     does anyone know how to grant access to the page designer in Aurena?   We cant find any projection name for this when using the debug console or log window.  Is it something that only the IFSAPP user can do or are we missing something?

Hi everyone, I’ve been trying to connect a tool/equipment resource to a serial object in IFS Apps 10 but so far I have not succeeded. Does anyone know the exact steps to follow to do so ? I have noticed the empty field “ID object” on the Tool/equipment page but I can access the LOV or enter any data. Thank you everyone. 

Hi!If you have two base profiles, and you want to export from one profile and import to the other, but ONLY column order and layout forms (fields shown in one of the profiles). Does somebody knows if it is possible? I don’t want to export the full base profile, rather choose what to export and import./Albin

Hi All,  I get the MRP message “No Demand Exists” for a part that I have 3 open customer orders for. This should be generating an Early Order message since the shop order has a need by date earlier than the customer order.  An ideas??

Hello Everyone, We currently generate one invoice per customer order and email the customer a PDF of the invoice during the invoicing process.  Some of our customers have requested we send them just one PDF containing multiple individual invoices.   The customers want a separate invoice number for each order which we believe rules out using collective invoices.  Finance would like to have IFS basically print each invoice into a PDF and merge each new printed invoice into the same PDF so when a customer opens the PDF they’ll see multiple invoices within the same file. Thank you,William Klotz

Hello, I’ve noticed an issue that I believe is the result of a misconfiguration on our tenant. Currently, our maintenance group is able to log into Work Orders for repairs. They can clock out and close the WO as well, all while being off the “payroll” timeclock. I assumed the behavior for S&M was the same as the shop floor clocking. In the event an associate tries to clockin to a Shop Order, the system would prompt them and state that they are not clocked into timeclock. They are then automatically clocked in. Likewise, they cannot clock out of timeclock if they are still clocked into a Shop Order. This behavior doesn’t appear to be available for the service and maintenance group. Is this correct, or can the same functionality be extended to that group? My concern is that there will be a lot of errant clocking if S&M users are able to independently log time to WOs and clock on and off timeclock without any cross checking. Thank you!

Dear all, when I am adding attributes = custom fields in tab attributes within a custom logical unit, the attributes are sorted alphabetically. When I add a custom page in tab custom pages and look into the page, the columns seem to be ordered chaotically. So how can I define the order of the columns in my custom page? Hello,Working with events, I’m trying to get the value of a date type attribute and the result is a number, instead of a date.I’ve tried for different date type attributes and with different logical units and tables, and the result is always the same.For example:Logical Unit: ExpenseHeaderTable: Expense_Header_tabAttribute: CONFIRM_DATEWhen the event is executed, I get “1994” as a result, but it should be “16/10/2020”. Does anyone know how to resolve?.Thanks in advance,Amaia
