For a shop order with material completely issued, when the materials are unissued to a different location, UNISS transaction is created to the original issued location and not to the location to Unissued which is selected above. System does not directly transfer the materials to the selected un-issue location without having internal transfer transactions.1. What is the business value of these internal transactions?2. Here, two transactions are created even without the Shop Order reference. It looks like the material movement has been done within two locations which has not actually happened in the business.  How to explain this behavior from business perspective? 

morning can any help shed some light or even a guiding principles in what direction to set (backwards or forwards) when scheduling shop orders ?I understand how each schedule direction effects the start and end date  but am unsure of when to use either direction.currently we use backwards scheduling for all shop order but we have an arrear of shop order going 4 months into the past.To me logic says forwards scheduling because you can not start a shop order in the past so why plan it in the past, but i could be wrong.Appreciate any help/ advice or opinion on this topicregardsJamie

Hi  we are using Apps 10 and have recently connected the material to the operation but have had issues with shop floor operator inputting an extra digit and over issuing material (in this instance it was paint) to the operation.is there away you can prevent this or even better set a tolerance of allowable over issuing for example a maximum of 10% of the required usage can be over reported?regardsJamie

Hi I am using IFS Apps 10 and trying to pre-define were material is reserved and issued from. On the product structure i have set the ‘Reserve/ Issue Method’ to reserve and Backflush but this reserves material from any available location. Am i correct in thinking for it automatically reserve material from a predefined location I need to input the location in the ‘Reserve/ Issue from Location’ tab?If this is correct would I also need to define the ‘Default Location’ on the component inventory part as the same location so when the component material is received into stock it will automatically suggest locating the material into its default location? kind regardsJamie 

Hello I have recently noticed that our IFS Apps 10 is scheduling operation out of sequence, as below op 30 ‘Inspect and NDT to checklist’ has a planned op start date of 30/04/2021 which is 3 days before op 10 ‘Tack’ up is planned to start 05/05/2021. I have looked at the routing below for the part and can not see anything that jumps out as being out of the ordinary and the operations are in the correct sequence. both work centres are set up using Finite capacity, utilisation set at 100% and concurrent operations set to ‘Allowed -group start in sequence’

Hi, In APB, I would like to set that that Shop order B cannot start before shop order A. This for the simple reason that Shop Order A produces material needed in shop order B. It’s al fine with the need dates, but as soon as we start rescheduling, the system does not alert us if we schedule shop order B before A. Also, the system will do it himself if we let him schedule. Can this be avoided? Best regards

Hi,We have recently added a second shift and I am trying to schedule shop orders for both shifts, however I have only been able to get APB to schedule orders on the morning shift.Steps I have taken:New calendars created for morning shift (6am - 2pm), afternoon shift (2pm - 10pm) and entire day (6am - 10pmWork centre and applicable labour class linked to entire day calendarEmployees individually assigned morning or afternoon shift calendars I am sure I am missing something simple, hopefully somebody in here can spot it :)

Hi I am fairly new to IFS Apps 10 and would like to know how to stop operations from scheduling to start in parallel in the same work centre?  Within this work centre we only have 2 shop floor employees and have tried to replicate this by setting the ‘resource quantity for calculation’  2 and set the ‘capacity calculation bases’ to group.How do it get it to schedule so the same operation doesn't plan to start in parallel?regardsJamie 

New to control plan module.  If my control plan is for part only and not process could my control plan be tied to the part regardless of work center?  We have parts that we run on 6 or 8 different work centers.  A lot of work when you have as many parts to set up as we do.

Hi, We have quite recently started with IFS and i am working with projects and tasks.We use tasks to report project time on however we struggle a bit if for example the designer can start a few days earlier than what we agreed on, and want to register time ahead of the activity start. Can you somehow use the offset function but with a negative number? So we do not need to change the activity early start and change the Gantt schedule? Appreciate all the help i can get./John

We are planning to ‘Automate Pick, Pack and Ship’ operations. Does IFS support this functionality? If yes, can someone provide any related information/documentation?

It looks like Invoice Status are slightly different between IFS9 and 10.We have noticed that in IFS9 we have “Not invoiced” and in IFS10 we have “Notinvoiced”.We upgraded from APP9 to APP10. For example, we have some searches that are based on that field (text), and because the Status text is not the same, the search return no values.Is this possible to edit, the status text in IFS10, to be exactly the same that we have in IFS9 today?

Maybe better to ask, “how is Lot Batch Master” and the Expiration Date field within supposed to work?  How does Expiration Date load? I have shelf life setup for the item.  Looking at the view, raw data, I see Best_Before_Date does have a value, but Expiration_Date does not.I am trying to understand how IFS works.  We need to use an expiration date for our product and thought Lot_Batch_Master was the way to go.For what it is worth, Inventory Part in Stock record does have the Expiration_Date field loaded with proper shelf_life calculated date.IFS version 9.17 

I want to know how the Total Est Level Cost is calculated in shop order estimated cost?The product is weighted average costing based. 

We are looking for a way to prevent or restrict manufacturing operators from reporting QC operations in Shop Orders. We can restrict this via a Filter in Shop Floor Workbench, but do not see an obvious way to do so in Shop Order. The QC operations are in a separate Department and Work Center. We do not use Team or Employee reporting, we use Anonymous Reporting. Thanks

When setting up the planning structure, I need to enter the component information related to 2 sites (same component). system gives a warning that the qty per assembly is < or> than 1 when I tried to enter record for the second site. However I can ignore and proceed. Is that correct ?

Morning We are using IFS apps 10 and I have been reviewing work centre capacities and have noticed large discrepancies in average capacity and demonstrated capacity but cant understand why?the work centre below is for a welding work centre with an average capacity of 7.15 hr but a demonstrated capacity of 39.6 hr. Available and theoretical capacity are both showing 7.75 hr per day.When reviewing the resource detail the capacity calculation base is set at group with a resource quantity of 5 to reflect the 5 welders working within this work centre (all with the same labour class) and group utilisation at 90% . does any one know the cause of the discrepancy? kind regards

Hello,Is anyone able to explain exactly how the system calculates the earliest start date when doing the ‘Update ESD According to Material Availability’ function in a shop order?I have read the IFS help page and tried playing around with several examples in our test system, but I’m struggling to understand how it works out the date it chooses.  We are on Apps 10 UPD 8.Any help would be appreciated.Thanks,Steph.

Hi, assume i picked 5 different parts, for a total of 100 pieces (lets say 20 pieces of each inventory part). All with defined measurement. How can I pack these into a handling units during shipment, with IFS telling me how much Handling units I need? If i now do it, using the packing instruction in shipment or using the ‘pack according to handling unit capacity’, I get 5 handling units with each inventory part in one HU (so 20 pcs/HU). However, i would like that IFS fills the the first HU completely, with a mixture of parts, and than goes the second etc. Is that possible?  

I have tried to hide the confirmation dialog for a specific printout. I have not succeded through report rules.Is it possible to hide the dialog box? And automatically send the printout to the printer?In one of our processes, when reporting shop orders in shop floor workbench, we don’t want this box to appear when printing Handling Unit Labels. (it has happened more than once that operators by mistake click cancel and the result is no labels printed on the printer)On IFS 10 upg11

Hello all,I have 3 questions related to APB:I am wondering whether it is possible somehow to setup and/or use functionality of APB in order to fulfill need date everytime (consider need dates as a hard constraint). This can lead to situations when operations of the shop order are scheduled partially to the past. I am expecting that the answer is NO, but I just wanna be sure that I haven’t missed anything. Possibilities of fixing scheduled operations in the schedule - presuming these:fixing based on the shop order operation state - do not schedule the released operations fixing by the time fence given by an offset of hours from now/sysdate - configurable from the basic data anything else?What is the difference between the automatic scheduling of Unscheduled operations and Infinite scheduled operations.Thanks for your advices. Best regards,Zde
