Hi allWe are looking into the feasibility of batch tracking in Astea/Astea mobile. We are currently in the exploratory phase, and any advice or ideas are much appreciated.The products in question are bottles/containers that we deliver to customers (and later pick up) or use as part of service.Serialisation is not an option due to the demands this would put on logistics.My idea is to have a bar code sticker (+print) on the product that is a combination of product id + batch (so it will have to be removed/added as part of production). The SA will then just scan the products upon delivery/pick up, and this will automatically update the service order with the products + batches.Volume and ease of use are essential: an SA may do 20-25 deliveries a day, and each deliveries may include 2 to 15 products delivered and the same number picked up.

New Customer, currently going live in January 2023We are on 22R1SU5, and we frequently get many server errors when navigating pages - sometimes these go away when hitting refresh / reload, but occasionally these persist.  A user this morning was going into “Supplier Invoices for Final Posting Analysis” and was repeatedly getting the server error: Error while serializing contents.This error happens when the server cannot serialize the data to be sent to the client.A common cause is that one attribute's length exceeds the defined maxlength in the projection.To find more info, open Log Window or Debug Console, refresh and then check Network Tab in DevTools. We have a scenario where we sometimes need to rework a purchased component.For this purpose we use repair shop order with repair structure and routing. This works fine except that no cost for machine/labor time is captured by shop order cost. Only purchase cost related to cost template used for part (P-140 in my example) are captured.As a test I created a manufactured structure/routing for same part number. Then created and reported shop order.  This works fine, system captures labor and machine cost despite same cost template (P-140) is used!I tried different settings to get this to work also for repair shop order. The only way I managed to capture cost is by adding cost bucket (e.g. 300) used for manufacturing to template P-140. This is not a good solution and causes a risk for wrong cost in cost calculation.Any ideas if/how this can be solved?

Hello,What’s the best way to make a GL account inactive in IFS Cloud? The account must of course be retained as it has historical data and transactions but no new postings to it should be allowed (no manual voucher postings, not allowed to be use in prepostings and no postings to it via posting control)I set the valid period on it to expire but I can still add the account into a posting control.

Can I see my Community notifications in the Community itself? I currently get them in my emails, but the mails are cluttered already (yes there is a folder for Community). I have subscribed to some groups, so I get mails from them as well. I am sure this is common for most others as well.I can see a notification when there is a private message. Similarly, is there a way to see notifications i.e. mentions, replies, best answers inside the Community portal itself?  

Dear community, Each month we raise a voucher to manually accrue depreciation on some of our assets.  As the depreciation accounts are ledger accounts we process the journal as a Q voucher.  Unfortunately, we are not able to create an interim (reversal) from a Q voucher.Are you aware of any way to get around this so we don’t have to manually post a second journal to reverse the Q? Any ideas?  Thanks, David.

Hi,We have number of SQL quick reports in cloud with user prompts (parameters). For an example we have defined it in the sql query where condition as below,‘&DATE_FROM’ So, in the cloud application Parameter page the label text is also shown as DATE_FROM. We simply want to appear this label text as Date From. Basically what we need to do is to remove the _ with a space. I know this works from the database side if we make it as ‘&Date From’. But when we execute from the cloud application it fails. Is there a way to achieve this? ThanksRoshanga

Hi,I am creating a positive pay check file using ‘External File Assistant’ as below. When the file is downloaded in Online mode it works as expected, but in batch process an empty new line is added to the beginning of the file. Does anyone have an idea to get this line removed. Thank you in Advance!

I have attached a new document to a project and went to edit it and the system responded that I either need to have a template for my DocClass or check-in a filed.  I think I remember that the system used to prompt for the type of file to be created, e.g. Work, Excel.  Am I missing something?  Perhaps things have changed?Thank youPatrick

In our business we experience yield loss on shop orders. For example, we mix ingredients together and for a 1000 lb. shop order, we know we will experience x lbs. of yield loss and the shop order will yield, for example, 960 lbs. instead of the 1000 lbs. lot size. I have been researching yield loss and am struggling to find an answer to answer my questions.We want to use scrap factor to increase the requirements for ingredients. For example, if we know we are going to experience 4% yield loss on a shop order, we want the required ingredients to be inflated by 4%. I have seen scrap factor in multiple places within IFS, but am not sure how to do what we are after, without adding, in this example, 4% scrap factor to each ingredient in the product structure. The second part of this question is that we don’t actually scrap anything out in IFS. We just receive less than the required amount on the shop order. Does that affect the scrap factor use? Hello,we met the issue in IFS Cloud.Created Purchase Order for serial part and reserved Serial number for that part:When we use Incoming Dispatch Advice for Purchase order receiving and execute function “Receive with Serials/Lots”, system doesn’t provide reserved serial number and asks to fill it manually:But if I use form “Register Arrivals” and execute function “Receive With Serials/Lots”, reserved serial number appears without any problem:Maybe it is some kind of bug in the form “Incoming Dispatch Advice” that the same function works diffrently?

Hi Community, One of our clients encountered an issue with their opening balances. They mistakenly uploaded the opening balances for the year 2020 in the "0" period, despite not having a 2019 year in the system. Later, they reversed the balances in Period 1 and re-uploaded the opening balances for Period 1.Currently, the balances are correct in the 2020-12 period. We are now performing the year-end process for 2020 to transfer balances to the 2021-0 period. However, I noticed that the Cost/Revenue GL balances have incorrectly carried over into the 2021 opening balances.Is there a way to correct this? Would it be possible to proceed with backend data corrections to remove the Cost/Revenue balances from the 2021-0 period?We are using Apps7.Thank you in advance for any suggestions or guidance.

We’ve recently moved to cloud and I’m struggling writing a new report based off of customer order lines. Back in IEE, there was a “system information” tab at the bottom that told the admins what the sql column names were. Does this exist in any form in cloud?If not, what is the easiest way for me to figure out the the database names for the columns displayed? A good example of this is QTY_ASSIGNED. The column names don’t match what they are in the database therefore if I was brand new, I wouldn’t have any idea that QTY_ASSIGNED is the “Reserved QTY” and I haven’t found an easy way to figure this out in the application.

Version 24.1.6 as illustrated above one field service technician creates documents with file type JPG and another one with file type HEIC.The HEIC files must be downloaded before they can be viewed in IFS Cloud.Any planned improvements for this file type in future releases?

Hello all,My client has a customer portal where their clients can view various documents (e.g., purchase orders). Would it be possible for them to click on a link to access these documents directly in IFS, without needing to log in? To clarify, is there a way to provide "public" visibility to certain documents—accessible via a link—without requiring the user to have an IFS account?Or Would it be possible to easily provide access to the IFS Document Management System (DMS) from external applications?Thanks for your answer !
