Hello All, I have notice what appears to be a latency issue when users are executing IPAP for any given part. When a user runs a search for any part, there is a 2-3 minute delay before the IPAP results are returned. There do no appear to be any long running calls in the system, and there are no scheduled tasks running. It appears to be impacting any part, and seems to be getting progressively worse. I’m not sure if there is a setting/configuration to check, or if something may be misconfigured. Any insight would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Is there information available that describes the installation process of IFS Applications 10? I have installed APPS 8, but with the architectural change in APPS 10, I assume the installation process is not the same.I am specifically asking for the installation detail in a Linux environment with an Oracle database.

Can you please explain why each and every time I try to login to the community my current password is not recognized meaning that I have to send an email regarding a password change? Once I change the password the next time I login the system informs me that my credentials are invalid and I’m forced to repeat the password change process all over again.ThanksAlan

Hi all community,I’ve a client that wants to have the completed and canceled jobs in the mobile for the current day. For my understanding the normal behaviour is to remove these ones immediately from the mobile and we have a configuration to set what is the status that we don’t want to see in the mobile device.Is there a standard way to do this? My idea was to filter this in the sync rule, but I know that there is a limitation on the xml query to use date/time fields.Thanks, Regards/Fernando

We use a Document Management Marco in IFS, to enable DocumentProperties/QuickParts in Microsoft Word and Excel documents. This macro allows data held in IFS (e.g Document Number, Revision Number, Title, etc) to be automatically inserted into the Word or Excel document. We have added a custom field in IFS, and I need to automatically insert the data from that custom field into the Word Document.On the “Macro Basic” screen, “Object Attributes for Macro” tab we have to list all the IFS fields applicable to a given Object, which shall be made available to the macro code, but it seems to be limited to out-of-the-box fields only. Is there any way to add a custom field?Note: I am aware that in IFS Apps 10, this functionality has been expanded to allow custom fields to be used, but we really need to be able to do this in Apps 9.

Hi,Does anyone know why performance of a Crystal Report sometimes is much slower when run from inside IFS Applications then executed as a preview in the Crystal Report application?I create a report and preview it with ok performance.Deploy same report in IFS Applications but then performance is very slow!

Thus we want to create employees in company X and manage all employees information in company X. I’m trying to change some fields in the mWO Service touch app (IFS10 upd9). However when using: {TaskRef.CustomerName}The outcome is CustomerNumber-CustomerName. I’m not entitled to do a substr or something like that.I’m trying to do this on MyAssignmentCard.I’ve notice that everywhere customer name now shows up as number and name. I don’t know who thought of this, but I don’t like it.Anyway, is there someone who knows which field to take or how to derive only the name?Kind regards,Steve

We have a lobby that works with the default Site# of W. When we try to run it for other Sites, the first execution throws an error, but then if we run it again it works.Am I formatting the parameter correctly as where contract LIKE NVL('$SITE$','%')? 

In the demo Apps 10 system logged in as IFSAPP, I am getting the following information message on trying to release a purchase order that has been created directly without use of a purchase requisition. After clicking on OK, the purchase order is not released, remains in status Planned and the Authorization Required box in the header is checked.There is an Authorization rule on the purchase order (PO_RULE) and on checking that rule the amount on the purchase order is within the release amountWhat are the possible causes for the purchase order not being released and how can this be resolved?

Hi AllIm trying to create a custom event which needs to use the Time portion of a DATE field, in this case to run a check against Holiday Request records.  When I put the event code in as follows, it only seems to bring through the Date itself with the Time always being set to 00.00.00.  This is despite the Debug Console showing that the time being put into the database is something else such as 11.30.00.Has anyone had any success with the use of Date and Time in custom events?My event code currently is DECLARE   TIME_TO_         TIMESTAMP := TO_TIMESTAMP('&NEW:TIME_TO', 'YYYY-MM-DD-HH.MI.SS');BEGINerror_sys.Record_General('',TIME_TO_);END;The error shows that only the Date part is filled.  I have tried DATE instead of TIMESTAMP with the same resultCheersGareth

Hi,Very often we see background jobs in status ERROR with the message “...object is locked by another user.“.How can I handle this in my PLSQL procedure? There is a lock_sys package and oracle has a v$lock table.The lock_sys takes lock_name_ as a parameter. I don’t know what that is.The second includes an ADDR column. I don’t know what that refers to. Can any of this be used to handle this error, by fx postpone the execution of the job if the object is locked?BR Kresten

Hi, I have a doubt here:A part has a stocking unit of measure of “EACH”. A case is made up of 12 each. Scene 1: Customer ABC orders 4 eaches, and the order is shipped for 4 eaches. Scene 2: Customer XYZ orders 1 case and the order is shipped for 1 full case. In this situation, the system should ship a complete case and not split it into eaches. Is this possible? How do the parts need to be setup? Is there additional setup need for parts like unit of measure etc.

I am accustomed to creating tax reports using tax codes.  I created a tax structure to test the report function but the tax structure tab is not an option.  Am I missing a base setup item?  The company setup is on Address and the customer has the tax structure listed.  Thank you!

I have a project set up that has related work activities.  Note that this activity field is a custom field.  When I want to search for an activity to attach to this particular project, the search brings up every activity in the database, for “all” projects.  Is there a way to customize this activity field or the Search to only populate the activities for the project I have assigned in the line?Just looking for a way to possibly speed up the search.

Hi, I am trying to perform the printing of a report automatically after some event. Can anyone explain how this works?I found the mpm ‘perform_get_report_pdf’ and passed that name to a newly created Value Custom Process by defining this MPM as the ‘Perform Name To Call’ in the process parameters. When I define my business rule I will find myself the parameters of this MPM.However from here I am not sure how to proceed and how I could pass the right value to the parameter ‘report_parameters’? Thank you in advance!

Hello,We are in the process of upgrade from IFS 8 to IFS 10. I noticed Customer_Info_Comm_Method_Api is no more available in IFS 10. I am looking for function get_default_phone(customer_no),before i rewrite it in IFS 10 for our internal use, i wanted to check if someone knows whether IFS added this function in some other API or any replacement for Customer_Info_Comm_Method_Api.If someone have some document where IFS disclose such db changes, that might be helpful too.ThanksUzma
