Document Management (DocMan)

In IFS Cloud, We want to use a DMS and not store the documents in the IFS data base.We have large documents like .STEP, .IGEST, .DXF, ....We want to share documents in a secure way with external contacts.Is there a tool integrated in IFS that can do the job or should we use a tool external to IFS? If the tool is external which tool can you advise us. 

Community, in IFS, wondering where I could have a report or window to show the object approval status - either approval in progress or fully approved?we are in APP10, UPD9. Thank you. 

Dear IFS CommunityI would like to know if there is any way to automatize the process of starting an approval of a document set as “Preliminary” (first image below) when an approval template has been identified in “Document class management” (second image below). Is there any standard management or someone has already implemented a custom event about it?  Best regards,  Laura

I created a test projection for investigation with 1 function and 1 action.The function work but when deployed the action. Both will give the ODP_ILLEGAL_STATE error.The action consists of a parameter Stream if I switch to parameter  Binary; there is no error. What cause it to have invalid metadata and how to fix?Also found a “Unsupported Operation Parameter Type STREAM” error in the log .I am using  parameter Stream to save doc attachment. Thanks IFS 10 update 13     

The first time a customer orders one of our products, we need to send them a Document that is attached to that Sales Part.  I Wrote an advanced search that Looks Like what I need but it does not do the Lead Lag Functionality Is this a limitation or is my format incorrect? 

Hello Everyone :) My customer wants to attach documents onto the Project Activity Demand Line, so that when they create a Purchase Req from this line in the project, the attachment is then pulled through. I have tried using the Source LU Name of ProjectMiscProcurement and Target LU Name of PurchaseReqLinePart but am unable to see the attachment pull through- any advice? Hi, i have imported  events from V10   to add customer order lines as attributes child in word document created from a customer orders.although , the customer order lines have been added as connexion objects in the IFS document, the customer lines  attributes were not added in the proprietydoc in the Word document .Thanks in advance for your help. I’m trying to get the STEP_APPROVED event to add signatures in our test environment using the following code: Our image is stored in DocMan with a PNG File: But, when I go to approve a step for a test document I get the following error:I feel like I’m missing something because we do have a PNG file on document DS_EAMONN.DUNCLIFFE.

I have a user that mistakenly approved a document and would now like it unapproved. Is this possible or will he need to create a revision?We are currently Apps10 UPD14

Is there a way in which you can choose the next approver of a document from a group, so in the below example the first approver would choose who is the next approver of the document: 

Having an Upgrade von IFS Applications 8 to IFS Cloud we faced a strange occurence.During the first upgrades, there had been no issue displaying the attachments in the system. Now, for this environment, the attachments are just not working.Here you can see some details from the system in the current state.  Attachments not available  Documents are not available Trying to view a document results in an error   Error while downloading the file. Failed to connect to FTP ServerRepository is set to FTP     On DEV environment the repository address is a different one       And on DEV everything is working fine. Attachements are displayed without issues. It is not clear, why the attachements are not shown. Any idea regarding that? The documentation does not give a hint about this functionality.Addition to that: No attachments are working in the whole system. This is not connected to the object connections. Adding a screenshot of the pods as wellKind regardsTT

Hello All,I’m hoping you can help me, looking at our ftp servers for document management there seems to have been duplication of files (this is around the time last year when we had server issues). Before I just go ahead and delete files from one server I want to check the database itself for these files to see where the database record is pointing to. Unfortunately I can’t seem to locate the table. Table edm_file is just showing the path not the repository address - any ideas on which table I need to check?Thanks Sarah

IFS CloudI have Sales Part documents (PDFs) that are occasionally updated. We have been able to attach the Sales Part Document to the Customer Order Line Item.   I would like to send them to every customer that orders that sales part.  But I only want to send them once, the again if the documents change.I want to compare the Creation Date of the Sales Part Attachment to the Date the Customer on the Order last ordered the Sales Part.   If the Creation Date is Later than the Order Date, send the PDF Document with an Order Confirmation Report.How do I get the variables to make the comparison to include or exclude the PDF?Can this be in a Report Rule that would allow the test of all line items?  with multiple attachments?  

DocMan in Aurena and IEE requires a Check out folder to handle view and edit of documents. How is this done on Iphone and Ipad? 

I want to retrieve data from IFS database into a Word document, e.g. work order number and task number to which the document is connected. Document is stored to IFS docman and data should be fetched when document is opened for viewing.Is it possible to do the procedure with document macros?

Hi Is there in IEE a way that a user might grant document access to multiple documents without having to open every single document individually?We would like to avoid PLSQL scripting, as the user who would give access do not have access to the database, but are only admins in the document management area.Is there a screen we cant find, or a IFS standard RMB or assistant which does this? We are on IFS10 upd.8Best Regards
