Service (Touch Apps, MWO, MRO)

I would like some help understanding the scope of Deprecation and Removal Plan (DARP) for Work Order Based Service. I want to start moving processes from “work order” based services to “request based” services, but we’d appreciate knowing exactly what’s coming before we start making big changes:To anyone who has more information on this, please help us with the following questions:1. Will Maintenance still rely on work orders and tasks for things like PM Actions / Programs and Plans after 27R1 with full support?2. Will Serial Objects, Functional Objects (EquipmentObjects) functionality ultimately remain the same after 27R1 with full support?3. Will we still have access to our historical work orders. In other words, will we still be able to pull up the historical work orders page and see what services we completed with all the basic data we currently have after 27R1?4. Will the MWO Service App remain the primary way can receive information from our techs at customer sites so long as the

Hi, we have been facing issues with IFS rejecting login through SSO every 15 minutes, I am a field service technician and it becomes very complicated having to sign in multiple times throughout the day. I would like to know if the team is aware of this and a solution is imminent. Thanks App: IFS MWO Service v26.9.4731.0 Can also include bugreport.zip on request

Hi All, I am having issues with starting a work task on the MWO application. IFS system: I’ve used the microsoft store and downloaded both IFS MWO Service and IFS MWO Maintenance. I was able to login with both systems and both systems synchronized. And I managed to assign a Work Task to mobile and download it. I was also able to ‘accept’ the task. But when I try to click ‘Start Work’ I get an error:Initially with MWO Service I got a different error @Alexander Heinze , if you would have any insights to this issue, that would be fantastic! Best RegardsRoel Timmermans

Within the Workflow Configuration the fuction of “Mandatory” for Attachments seems to be not working.Expected results is when a workflow has select of “Mandatory” for attachments the Request should not be allowed to finish without an attachment.

Hi experts,There is a business requirement to create multiple requests when creating request. It should be possible to define different customers in this request creation process.Reason being, It is required to create a task across several different sites.Currently this is not supported in IFS Cloud 24R2 SU5.Does anyone know if IFS have future plans to deliver this functionality?

Dear All,For one of the customer on 25R1 we have added additional filters on ‘Task Measurement’ like Parameter, Parameter Description and Test Point ID in MWo Service App.We are facing issue with Sorting values using these filters. The values will not sort in ascending or descending order how usually sorting funtionality works on the records of ‘My Work’ tile. For example, if I have 10 work task with me and when i use My Work tile to navigate to list of records there if I use work task field as filter the list gets sorted based on work task number. But same is not happening here.Any leads on this will help. Below is the screenshot showing the button to sort. Thanks in advance for your valuable suggestions.Regards,Srinivas

If the service technician forgets to share the service report with the customer or forgets to save it, there is no way to generate the service report again, if the assignment is no longer in mWO.There should be a way of creating a service report in the Cloud without developing a report. This could possibly be solved by another wish, i.e by auto-attaching a service report to the assignment, which will be synchronized to IFS Cloud.

Hello,I am looking for a setting that we may have missed in IFS CLOUD for a feature that we had in IFS V8.In V8, when creating a new Work Order, Pre Postings are not populated, but they are automatically populated when connecting to a project. In IFS CLOUD, Pre Postings are not populated when connecting to a project. However, if we add a task to a Work Order, it inherits Pre Postings in a fully automated manner. It seems that the activity sequence that does not automatically integrate into the Pre Posting line when connecting to the project is missing. How can I have Pre Posting automatically populated when connecting to the project?Thank you in advance.Barth

How do you handle the costs for different time types when using Resource Groups and Job Rate Management? For example, we have a Resource Group ‘Engineers’ which allow you to add one cost value and sales part value.  We then assign work to engineers within that resource group via Mobile Work Order. When the engineer books their time they select one of the following time types - Standard, 1.5x, 2x, depending on their contractual hours. How does the costs associated with those time types get added to the work order if the resource group only has one cost assigned to it?  Similarly, how does the sales part relating to the time type get added to the work order to ensure the customer is charged the appropriate rate?

Hi All,In a Request task, Service Material Requisition is created when we add a Material demand.  When we use Inventory material, this Service Material Requisition is Closed automatically, after issuing the part.  However, when we purchased a material part (non-inventory) via Procurement Portal, this Service Material Requisition is not auto closing even after connected Purchase order is closed.  How this Service Material Requisition status change for non-inventory parts?TIA.

Hi everyone,I'm currently configuring a Maintenance Survey (eForm) in IFS Cloud, to be used through the IFS MWO Service mobile app.I would like to know if there's any native way to capture the technician's GPS coordinates (latitude and longitude) at the moment they: Fill out a specific field, or Take a photo through the eForm. I've already enabled GPS permissions for the application and for the user in the Mobile Apps Administration panel. Is there any method or best practice to store the location automatically in the form responses (via metadata, script, or system field)?Any official documentation or workaround would be really helpful. Thanks in advance!

Hi, Is there a limit to the number of Request Tasks that can be transferred to mobile using the Pool Task option in a single transfer?

There is a  problem manifests when users attempt to accept or start a Pool Task assigned to a Resource Group. The system raises an internal error (Utility<CreateAssignmentInState>: Failed to read expression value from AllTaskRec.TaskSeq) during assignment creation, preventing the task from being accepted or started.Product Version: 25.2.2

Hi, I have a question regarding the Pool Work option in MWO. Is it possible to transfer Crew work as a Pool Task when multiple Crews are expected to work on the same job?

Hi Everyone. We’re about to upgrade from IFSAPPS10 to IFS Cloud and I’m looking forward for this functionality ASAP. I created this topic below 2 years ago using the Aurena apps and I hope we may have now in IFS Cloud.  @Bandula , please give me good news about it, have you guys already implemented it or is there another way like custom page option to use it? The buttons inside the work task step to navegate from one to another. example from the mWorkOrder apps. WorkTask Step navegation buttons. Tks.Lopes

I’ve created a Repair Work Order for a Serial Part with Repair and Return to Inventory option. This generates a work order with one work task. I then issue the repair part to the material tab, which automatically creates the return line.I then perform reporting of the Work Order and Work Task, and both are now sitting in Work Done state. I then want to return the repaired part to inventory. However when I try to return, I’m told that the Serial Part is issued on a Work Task that is not Finished. But I can’t finish the work task without returning the part. I can’t unissue or modify the return line. So I’m now stuck with a serial part issued against the work task, but no way of continuing the work task.I must be missing something… What have I not done? Work Task in Work Done state with Material Line showing Repair PartWork Task Execute pageReturn to inventory dialogReturn Error

I haven't changed any logic or parameters from the original code. I simply copied the standard implementation and moved it to the customization layer to overtake the procedure. when I try to deploy that got this error. Have I missed something while overtaking the method, or is there any limitation/consideration related to super() calls when moving standard code to the customization layer?

A. What is your idea?1) ClassificationOpportunity for improvement2) Brief descriptionCurrently, support teams assign task cards to crews one shift before work execution, and line supervisors must manually assign those task cards to individual technicians at the beginning of each shift.Due to the high volume of technicians and task cards processed each day, this manual process is time-consuming, resource-intensive, and susceptible to human error. The current process also requires significant administrative effort to ensure that task cards are assigned to the correct technicians before work begins. B. We have received requests from field users to increase the answer space available for eForms in MWO. When reviewing the configuration, we found that the eForm question types do not include any option to adjust the size of the answer field. While researching this, we found the following references confirming this as a known limitation (note both posts are approximately 3 years old): 1. https://community.ifs.com/service-touch-apps-mwo-mro-43/adding-multiple-lines-in-a-statement-type-question-mwo-eforms-35780IFS confirms that displaying a multi-line statement/answer is not currently possible and suggests submitting it as an Idea for a future release. 2. https://community.ifs.com/service-touch-apps-mwo-mro-43/mwo-service-survey-answer-field-length-37484This describes a related limitation where the Answer field length differs between the entity used in IFS Cloud (4000 characters) and the entity synced to mobile, IFS Cloud (2000 characters) for Open-ended questions. Could you confirm whether

Hello, Recently I have seeing the sync issue between mobile application and Cloud, I try to start the Assignment and fill Time Entries from mobile but the status doesn’t updates on cloud. I checked the failed transactions and found the error - ORA-20105: ActiveSeparate.ACTSTARTISLATER: Actual Start is later than todays date for work order 694. Does anyone know why this is happening with few accounts while others work perfectly and what is the fix Thanks & Regards,Mani

The "DARP Summary for Work Order based Service capabilities" states that IFS is planning to deprecate the Work Order (WO) based Service Management processes and capabilities by November 2027.I would like to check if Service Contracts (Work Order based) exist. Could you please provide the SQL statement to extract the relevant entries? The version is IFS Cloud 24R1.

Hi All, I’ve created a persistent custom field for MWO app on the MobileMaterialReqLine entity. It is available and editable in the MWO app but doesn’t sync back to IFS Cloud and throws an error. I’ve included the screenshots of the setup and the error below. Created the CF Enabled in page designer Available in MWO appSync errorSync error detailsAny idea on what the issue could be is greatly appreciated! Thanks,Dulshan.

Hello, Using Apps for Page Designer, I configured a field as Required to ensure users do not overlook it when entering time through the MWO Service App. However, this change does not appear to be reflected in the MWO Service App, as users are still able to save their entries without completing the field.Could you please advise if I am missing any additional configuration or step required for this change to take effect in the MWO Service App?IFS version 25R2Thank you,Wafaa

Hi All,We need to use Region attribute in request management to use in several places such as Selection Rules, Task Regions etc. However, it seems that region alone does not work and we need to tie it with a location to make it usable. Since we get requests from different locations almost every time saving locations may not be that useful. Address and Region combination would be ideal for our work. If we use dummy location per region then that will make exception in PSO with invalid location. Can anyone give any input on this?

Hi All,The work task object is not syncing on the work details page of MWo - Maintenance app. From past community post its mentioned that from 24R2 the group push for Equipment Objects has been changed to Batch. But in our current 25.1.8 cloud version its still group push. The equipment object gets sync’d on the ‘Object’ tile but not on the work details page in MWo - Maintenance. Both the group push standard users for IFSMAINTENGAPP and IFSSERVICEENGAPP have been provided with work task site access. Mobile user also has access to the work task site, as assignment has been transferred on the mobile else while transferring standard error message will appear to provide access. Please let us know for any setting to be done.In 25R1 equipment object shows group push instead of batch as per previously community posts as per above screenshotObject is missing as per above screenshot, and not able to manually add it to the mobile appObject shows in objects tile, count available on the objects tile
