Hi All,

In a Request task, Service Material Requisition is created when we add a Material demand.

When we use Inventory material, this Service Material Requisition is Closed automatically, after issuing the part.

However, when we purchased a material part (non-inventory) via Procurement Portal, this Service Material Requisition is not auto closing even after connected Purchase order is closed.

How this Service Material Requisition status change for non-inventory parts?

TIA.

Hi,

For a non‑inventory purchase part line, you close the requisition manually using the Close action (Close Material Requisition Line) on the Service Material Requisition. Per IFS docs(Close Material Requisition Line), when a non‑inventory purchase‑part line has gone through the purchase flow, closing the requisition line sets the status of the material requisition to Closed.

This manual step is intentional: the requisition is kept open so the user can still add more material demand and decides when no more material is needed for that task before closing it, the system does not force close it just because lines are fulfilled.

In short: inventory parts close on issue; purchased parts have no issue event, so after the PO is received/closed you must use the Close command on the Service Material Requisition to move it to Closed.

Thanks @dirolk . Further, keeping this Service Material Requisition Open, does not have an effect of closing Request Tasks and Request.
