Why do I get "Numeric or value error: character string buffer too small" error in the application?

Hi,   We have IFSAPP9 in which we are facing issue with print jobs, the status of jobs are waiting. We have tried cleaning and print service restart but didn’t worked. Please guide how to troubleshoot.   Thanks Shitanshu Sharan

We have certain windows that currently do not allow us to attach documents. I am looking to enable attachment in the windows but do not know how too. How would I do this in IFS 9?

Hi AllWe are on IFS Apps 10 and have recently tried to add a new logical printer to IFS. This is our first time adding a new printer. Our Application and Print Servers are separate to spread the load with the print server hosting all print and reporting services.On our Print Server we have completed:Installed the Printer Drivers and created a Print QueueUpdated the config file (ifs-printagent-config.xml)Restarted the Print Service (IFSPAService_IFSL)Within the Application we have:Created the new logical printer with the same name/ case as the print queue on the print server and what is in the config file (e.g. TESTPRINTER1)Attempted to print a report.On the Print Jobs screen in IFS we get the following error:“The Print Job can not be printed. The selected printer is not mapped to any Print Agent.”When I check the Print Service logs on the Print Server it is full of errors similar to:“[059] 15/10/2020 12:26:59: Registering...[059] 15/10/2020 12:26:59: Failed to register![059] 15/10/2020

Hi, I’m starting to use IFS Application. It’s a Windows Client running on Windows 10 Professional. I was reading the on line help and doing the excercises proposed on the e-learning page. When working with the toolbar, I used the contextual menu to hide diferent toolbars. Suddenly, I hided all the toolbars and I can not find the way to show the toolbar again. We are running Apps10 UPD6.  I’m looking for information that details the differences between Serial Objects and Functional Objects.  There were several changes between 8 and 10, and we need to understand the benefits that serial objects bring over functional (what can you do with serial objects that you cannot with functional).  Is anyone aware of any documentation that specifically compares the two?  We are using objects to track, manage, and provide services on customer owned assets.

Hello,in IFS Cloud 22R2, we have a property called ‘Editable Function’ in the Page Designer. I believe using this property, we can include conditions/parameters based on which the field will be marked either as Editable or Read-Only. But currently, it doesn’t allow us to add any conditions. Is there a specific scenario when we can use this property? Also, do we have any supporting documents or reference fields with this property enabled? Please let me know. Kind RegardsPriyanka Cecilia

We are trying to create the knowhosts file required for SFTP communications between IFS and Pagero (our EDI vendor).  From IFS documentation, here is what we are supposed to do: SFTP requires a "known hosts" file. The known hosts file contains the public key of the SSH2 server,and the purpose of this file is to ensure that a server cannot maliciously impersonate another server(e.g. man-in-the-middle attacks).The known hosts file may already have been created by an SSH2 client and may be reused by an SFTPreader. Hi, We have often background jobs failing due to locking.There are a lot of “Please try again later” messages.“The update could not be performed since the Document Revision record is currently locked. Please retry the operation.                    ORA-20113: DocIssue.FND_LOCKED”. How can we find more about this? We could click on “Show Details”, which lets us know which document was involved. Would like to know why it was locked. Was it simply because someone was looking on that document?  Thanks in advance! Regards,KW

Has anyone ever seen this error message before when trying to initialize an Aurena Native App? The app was working fine, and we were doing some work with Custom Fields and went to re-initialize to test the changes and I can no longer initialize.  Any suggestions?

I am trying to put custom fields visible through Column Chooser option. As i move the Custom objects from hidden Objects to Visible objects, It is not becoming visible and disappearing from visible to Non visible fields. Can anyone help here? 

Notify Me configured notification not appearing in IFS 10.The customer has an approval process in Sales Quotation  based on the document management functionality. We have created the configured notification in the Touch App Server to show the next approval step from the Approvals screen. I’ve been reading that I  should also create some custom events/custom actions to somehow push the notification in the Notify Me App (similar with PO notification). Does anyone have an example how such an event should be created based on the approval_routing_api?

Can someone please share me the complete user manual  of Aurena & IFS 10. Or any relevant link. Especially the complete finance module with each scenarios, Journal entries etc. 

Where can I add the method “get_document_access” for one object ?   

We are considering use of the MWO (Mobile Work Order) processing for our Maintenance Engineers. We’d like to install the app on their phones. But first we would like to find out if it's used by other companies and if this is a reliable solution. Has anyone used MWO? Has it proved reliable? We use IFS9 and have about 50 Maintenance Engineers who work at our plants so they'd be connecting via WiFi from their phones. We have fairly extensive knowledge of IFS and use it quite widely.  

Hi,   I have some quick reports created in IFS 10, and suddenly, one of them stopped exporting data to excel. Inside IFS, I can see the values I am querying, but in excel I get the “No data found!” message on the first cell.  Does anyone know what might be causing this sudden error and how to get around it?
