A weight of configurable part depends on configuration. For example one day we produce configurable product, which weight is 120kg. Another day, there is created new “Configuration specification”, and the product weight is 130kg. Is there a functionality in IFS10 to calculate automatically weight of configurable part and insert it in “Configuration specification” LU - field “Net weight”? For example after creating DOP.What is the standard solution in IFS for configurable part in Intrastat? Does the weight in Intrastat come from “Configuration specification” LU - field “Net weight”?
Hello, I am looking into streamlining the current manufactured Inventory Part creation process. Today, our Engineering department uses the Copy Part feature to create a new mfg Inventory Part. Unfortunately, while this process is quick, it has lead to issues where parameters are set incorrect (Inventory Part record form). Most of the time, this is due to the associate forgetting to change a planning parameter, or general part information. I did find the New Part Assistant wizard, but it appears to only work for Purchased Parts and Non-Inventory Sales Parts.I was hoping a wizard similar to the NPA would exist to quickly enter an Inventory Part. I have not found anything, and was curious what other methods may be available to enter the basic data elements needed to start a new manufactured Inventory Part record.
Hi, Does DDMRP work with PMRP? Also, would anyone have a broader answer to what functionality DDMRP is not suitable or compatible with, for example, you can’t have a MS Level 1 part set as Planning Method ‘H’ Buffered Part. This was something identified during testing. Thanks in advance
We’ve discovered an issue from the looks of it between the net weight entered on the part catalog and the total net weight on the customer order. Our general rule for the part catalog UOM is that we match the inventory UOM as there is no conversion (that we know of) between the part catalog record and the inventory part record. We tend to set our inventory parts up as to how we are going to store/consume the product which we believe is best practice.Either way, one of our parts net weight for a CS (which is our inventory UOM and Part UOM) is 220 lbs. We have this setup to SELL in EA (we have 200 EA/CS and 1 EA is .005 of a CS). What happened is, our customer, who also orders in eaches, put in a desired qty of 2000. It looks like the conversion is not looked at as the total net weight of the order turned out to be 440,000 lbs when it should have been a total of 2,200 lbs. I can get to this number if I multiply the qty requested (220 lbs * .005 conversion gives me my EA weight then multi
Do any IFS users, operating in an electronics product manufacturing environment, effectively utilise IFS to facilitate batch traceability of their manufactured products?I would like to explore ways to achieve this and would be greatful if any current users would be willing to share their experiences / ideas….
Hello! There was an issue where a change order was canceled prematurely with CO actions still assigned. This has caused an issue where these actions still show up in queue to be completed, but the actions cannot be edited with the CO in a “Canceled” state and the CO cannot be deleted as it is used in 12 rows in another object… which would match the 12 action items assigned. That can’t be changed. This has caused a circular impasse and would really appreciate any advice on how to either delete the canceled change order or the actions so that these can at least be removed from change order action queue. Thank you!
Hi everyone,To let you know I’m using IFS APP 9. We are trying to put a process on our shop order with a subcontractor. This is the scenario :We have a product X , with component A & B. ( I already set up the structure / routing )The product X is made by our subcontractor from component A & B , so we have to send component A & B. After he mixed component A & B together he sends us the final product X.We keep the stock in our site because we also sell component individually to other customer. We have a customer order for product X, which generate a shop order ( beacause we don’t have stock) telling us to prepare items A & B, eveything is correct until the shipping .At any moment we can bring up what's product we send on the delivery note to our subcontractor, so when we get the delievry note after the “Ship WIP to supplier” there is only the operation related to the service "mixed A & B".So how we can send our product to the subcontractor after getting the item
Hi Team,I can perform a Where Used for an EPR, and an IP, but for Sales Parts that are Package Components in Package Parts, once the PP’s are created I can’t perform a Where Used when products change and we need to give this consideration as part of the Change Order. Is there any way to do this? Thanks,Wade

Hi, We would like to use attachments in control plan templates, where the attachments of the control plan template are also copied into the created control plans (IFS10) However, that does not seem to work. We create a control plan template, add the attachments. But when we use that template to create new control plans, the attachments of the template are not attached to the newly created control plan. Is there something we do wrong, or is this not possible? If not, does anyone know a workaround besides manually adding the attachment to each newly created plan? thank you!
Some background:We have a custom event action running as a validation on the LotBatchMaster LU intended to ensure 1 part number per Lot Batch #. This is done with ‘pragma autonomous_transaction’ in order for the event to run on a mutating table. In IFS8 performing a “receive by-product” on a shop order with multiple by-products received simultaneously would perform one database transaction per line and our after create action would correctly error if a lot batch number was repeated on that submission.IFS8 has the COMMIT shown after the first line is submitted here, and the next line errors with the event action:In IFS10 it appears that a transaction is opened for the entire submission as a batch, and since the event action is validating outside the scope of the transaction which is in process it is not able to find that any record exists with the Lot Batch #.My questions are:Is there a way to force IFS10 to revert to one line per transaction? (I’m guessing not without meddling with the
Expectations of „compare Estimates“:We expect the comparison to show the differences in costs and/or scope of work between two estimates. Articles that are not included in one of the two estimates should also be displayed. The structure level should not play a role here. Hello All, We are wanting to start putting the packaging required onto our Structures so that product demand is driving packaging demand too. However, if we have a shortage of desired packaging we can use an alternative but it isn’t a one to one replacement relationship. Before I go and spend hours trying to get this work thought I’d ask can IFS Apps9 handle this? Thanks Sarah
When changing the Inventory Part Valuation Method from "Standard Cost" to "Weighted Average" and cost level to cost per lot batch Purchase transaction created with 0 cost although PO line has a price. Is there any reason for this?
Hi,Is there not any possible way to “Ship WIP To Supplier” for many Order No at once and not - One by one? Etc Report Shop order Lines ?
Hi All, How can I adjust the number of decimal places in the ‘Quantity Per Assembly’ field? I have already adjusted ‘Regional settings of the application’ and ‘Region settings of the machine’ but no impact. Best regards,Devni
Hello all, I am trying to find a way to prevent a Shop Order Operation step from closing automatically in the event there is a failed QA analysis confirmed. I believe a Subtask could be used, but it appears they cannot be attached based on an event. I do not want to require approvals for any Shop Order Operation, only those with a failed analysis. In IFS, is it possible to trigger any sort of event to require a sign off in the event an analysis is confirmed with a failure/out of spec? Any guidance would be greatly appreciated.
Community, Does anyone has experience building integration with Kardex Remaster? we are going to have Kardex VLM installed in May, and we are looking for IFS integration solution. Thank you.
Hello, I have configured a Subtask with an Inspection Sign Off requirement and qualification profile. I have also set the Site to consider qualifications. However, any account is still able to complete this sign off from the SFWB. The help in IFS seems to indicate this is all that is needed to perform a security check and prevent unqualified accounts from completing the sign off. Is there an additional item that must be configured to activate this functionality? Any guidance would be greatly appreciated!
Hi,Capability Check is not supported with project connection. Capability Check will therefore not be possible to run when the demand order has a project connection in IFS cloud 22R1. 1. This function is possible in IFS Cloud 21R2. What is the reason for the change(limitation) in this function ? 2. Is there any alternate to do capability check when the demand order has a project connection ? (in IFS Cloud 22R1) kind regards,Yashodha.
I need to add some custom fields in IFS cloud environment to recreate a customer scenario. Is there a method in IFS cloud to add custom filed directly? Furthermore, if I need to add number of custom fields in IFS cloud what is the best method?
Hello together,I received a customer question.Prehistory: they set up their material OH costs so that they are generated by backflushing for a shop order when. The material OH should only be applied for purchased items. (This was already achieved in a test). Now the question:they would like to set up the purchase part OH costs especially that they are counted on/to the issued material batch(es) for the shop order (the OH costs relates directly to the backflushed material batch). How do the cost classes/schemas have to be set to realize this?Example: OH costs=10%, average puchase price=10€, price of withdrawn batch: 9€. Then the overhead costs for this should be 0,9€ -> 9,9€ on the shop order for purchased parts. Is somebody familiar with that? Thank you for help in advance! Regards Markus
Hello Community,We just upgraded from “9” to “10” UPD 13. Production/Quality has noticed MRB’s no longer create in “In Process” ( “9” ) but in “10” create in “Planned”. This is adding steps (and a little confusion) to the process when creating an MRB via RBM off a Shop Order Line. Is there any control on the “Default create MRB”? We’d like to set it as “In Process”. I’ve looked in all the usual places for this type of setting, nothing….. Thanks, Troy
Hi All, During our implementation we created custom Move Tickets and Barcode labels to identify product on our Shop Floor. The reports and labels essentially contain the Part Number, Description, Revision, Qty, Operation Sequence, Next Operation Sequence, Work Center, and Shop Order number. We have the PN and SO barcoded on the reports as well. Ideally, if possible, i would like to make use of the standard IFS warehouse labeling reports. However, it appears that the only options would be to print the Shop Order Reports (Work Instruction Report, Shop Order Report). My question is - are these the only reports in IFS that can be used to label product that is being produced? How would work in progress be labeled to indicate where the next WC location the material should be taken to for additional processing? Any guidance would be appreciated.
