I want to attach a document to Shop Floor Workbench so that everyone (especially the workers) could read the document before their operations. And I don’t want to attach the file to every operation…But there’s even no Logical Unit for Shop Floor Workbench to let me activate “DocReferenceObject^” connection. Do you have an idea how to make it happen ?

Hello,I would like to create a document template in order to create others documents cloned from this template.I try to use the function “Document File Template” in Document Mnagement → Basic Data → EDM Basic. And I could create a template in a doc class, but I dont know know to use this template. Could you help me, please ?

Hello,I’ve downloaded the attached PDF document and text block for a Macro that is designed to use the ActiveDocument.ExportAsFixedFormat function.  I believe this is able to be used in the 21R1 and 21R2 versions of Aurena as long as the Agent is installed.Has anyone actually incorporated this macro into a 21R database?  Is the function to ExportAsFixedFormat, which is for Word in the example, also the same for Excel?Thank youPatrick

Hi All,Is there a way to change a document class on an existing document? Or, is there a process that can transfer a document to another document class?For example, we have Doc No BYC-12E-10-XX-XX (1 OF 2) that is in doc class ENG-243 that should really be in ENG-248. Is there a way to create a template within the Document Folder Navigator? We don’t currently keep our documents for our projects in IFS, but would like to move towards that. We use the same folder structure for each project and rather than having to create the folders each time, if we could create a template and then copy it, it would save a lot of time.

I have added a new custom tab from the Document Revision. Where can I see the link/connection between new custom tab(I added) and the Document Revision or any other page in  PLSQL ? I want to make quick report for this.

Hi All,We are using document management '>' approvals to approve new objects.  Currently some of the users included in the approval have access to more than one company.  If the users default company doesn't match the company attached to the object, it takes him to the object screen(When RMB’s and selects Object Info) but it’s blank because his default company is different.  Users have to change global company multiple times to approve these objects. Do we have a method to overcome the issue and access to multiple companies? Thanks & Best Regards,Nipun

For those who use IFSPlease let me know if you know of any.I need to examine the security of my network.I am trying to save files in a shared folder using an IFS attachment.The only user who can access the shared folder is the user group "everyone". However, "everyone" in the user group can access the folder by all user.I want to restrict access to specific users. Therefore, I want to specify a user or a user group( that contains users with permissions).I do not know which user to specify.In the following environment, is the user to be set for the shared folder the Windows login user of the client?Or is it the Windows login user of the application server?Which user is used when the IFS attachment function is accessed?  

Need your help on a mistery !When uploading a document in IFS (V8), many users get the below message informing that they must have edit access in order to write the file. The users have edit and view access on the concerned doc classes. Even, the DMS administrator already got this message. Documents are stored directly in the database.The strange thing is that this is very irregular and we are unable to replicate intentionnally the message. Most of the time, the second test of uploading the same document immediately after the first one, is working and the document is properly checked-in.I think it is not linked either the users or doc class….but due to what ?Thanks for your help  

What happened to the tab Originals between Apps10 and IFS Cloud (Aurena)?The activities “Register Document Original” and “Register Sheets for the Original” have also been removed from the process model, so I assume this functionality has either been completely deprecated, or replaced by something else?

Hi All,A user is unable to attach documents to a Customer Order Line.I found that this user has attached some documents to Customer Oder Lines previously.Note: Unable to recreate the error using IIFSAPP credentials.Kindly let me know what should I do to fix this.Thank you. 

We would like to o create a folder/database of files in IFS for our Proof of Delivery documents that we can search by Order Number, PO Number, Invoice Number, etc. and retrieve the Proof of Delivery.Does IFS have the capability scan files directly into IFS or have a scan imported to a folder within IFS? And then those files can be searched to retrieve a specific document?

Is there a way to restrict the user from editing the document approvals. i think  there is a limitation in IFS to do so. As one user who has the permission set alloted to him can bypass the original approver. is there a way to write a custom even on this. Similarly need to put a control that only the last approver can bypass the lower approvers.objection connection document approvals.

Hi all, The configuration of DMS repositories has clear restrictions in IFS Cloud. When configuring DMS repositories, it is no longer possible to set up a repository that points to all document classes * (asterisk). IFS has completely prevented the * from being used here in the standard functionality (methods). The direct application of the Create___ and Modify___ methods also reports back that an * is not allowed. Does IFS has another workaround to make it possible again? Best,Johannes

Hi, I am currently working on a project to simulate a signature handling process relating to customer order deliveries. The customer signs for a delivery which marks the order on the IFS Cloud 21r1 platform as delivered but I cannot use the MediaLibraryAttachmentHandling.svc and its end point [PATCH] /MediaItemSet(ItemId={x}) According to Fiddlers traffic logs ( and when a file is inserted via aurena’s UI ).There is an extension of this endpoint ‘/MediaItemSet(ItemId={x})/MediaObject HTTP/1.1’ with RAW data being passed as binary format of a .png image. There is no JSON body being attached as per the IFS API documentation. I am stuck at a point where I cannot understand how I can pass binary data in POSTMAN to this same endpoint. The API documentation isn’t providing any example other helpful instructions as to where the binary gets inserted so it can be passed to IFS’s database. When I copy the application/octet-stream used from the fiddler data, IFS returns a not supported error mess

Hi, Currently, We are Implementing IFS Apps 10 UPD 12 and above on IFS Managed Cloud. We have very huge no.of documents to be migrated from legacy systems. As per IFS standard, we can store documents only in database..But we have a concern of DB size growing as we have almost 1TB documents to be migrated. Could you please suggest alternate solution.

When we 'View' a document in IFS, it is being saved in the IFS checkout path e.g. for me, it is in my C drive, but the file is never deleted from that location. Can we remove the cache from IFS as we don't want these documents to be stored in a temporary file path upon viewing them?

Is the IFS Office Add-in available/functional with Apps10 and Aurena?
