What is this about?This post is to inform everyone using or planning to use Instant View that it has NOT been certified against Windows 11.The problem: support for Java applets is dyingThe underlying technology used by Instant View is Oracle AutoVue. This technology is based on Java applets running on the end user's PC, communicating with the AutoVue Server software.In order to use Java applets and interact with the Oracle AutoVue document viewer, IFS has embedded Internet Explorer inside IFS Enterprise Explorer, via .NET's WebBrowser Control.In Windows 11, since Internet Explorer has been removed, it's not possible to do certain configuration that's needed to get Java applets to work.The end result is that we haven't been able to certify Instant View for use with Windows 11. 

Hello, There are many systems-generated files in a directory on the network.I am able to upload them with app messages (using blob data) as media_item. So how do you think I would upload it to an ftp directory connected to the document management system?

We use IFS Apps10 Updt 13Hello everybody When using IFS Macros in DocMan, we repeatedly find that individual images embedded in MSWord are not displayed. If the IFS macros are not executed, the images appear without any problems.Our analysis has shown that the problem can be solved with an adjustment in the Macor block "IFS_02_01_MSOFFICE_WORD_EDIT".As soon as the part -----FOR EACH OSHP IN O_APP.ACTIVEDOCUMENT.SHAPES IF OSHP.TYPE = 17 THEN    O_APP.ACTIVEDOCUMENT.SHAPES(OSHP.NAME).TEXTFRAME.TEXTRANGE.FIELDS.UPDATE  END IFNEXT------is commented out, the images are displayed without any problems.So far, so good. Our question now is, what side effects can it have if we leave the said code part commented out?Thanks for an estimation.Peter 

Are there any plans to support FTPS in Docman?Our company is very keen on having secure traffic to the ftp-server and do not want to have un-encrypted connection to it, not even from the application server to the ftp-server.

Dear community,I’d like to know, if in DMS, we can manage different languages for the same doc_class / doc_no / doc_rev / doc_sheet ?Our need is to have one document available in many languages.I know that for the doc templates, we can have a different template based on the language and so, I thought that we could have such a flexibility behind a document revision…We are using the version 8 but migrating to Cloud 22R2Thanks for your help

Version 22.1.1Is there any method to connect multiple existing document revisions to one business object at the same time?Example: At the Change Request, using the Attach Existing command, can a User find and select multiple records? Or is this a one-by-one process?

Hi  On Document Class Management there are Document Default Values that list “Create New Document Wizard”  as one of the options.Does anyone know how you create a new Wizard so some of the Description Fields can be filed in when a certain Doc Class file is attached.  ThanksMark

We have a customer who are upgrading from IFS APPS 8  to IFS Cloud and would like to move their Documents (2TB worth of data) from their external storage into the IFS Cloud FS.The challenge for us is how do we make these documents accessible to MPX in IFS Cloud (Application) where the documents are stored in Azure BLOBS that are only accessible via the application with no direct access routes.  We need an effective way of migrating/importing the documents from the FTP into the storage ( via the application) or any other way. This is critical to the upgrade so will need to be done. After investigating and checking other community posts , we’ve received the following suggestion, which answers how to migrate the Documents but would not be acceptable to the customer given the size of the DB. We have a migration tool for copying data from an Apps 8/9/10 database to IFS Cloud File Storage ("FS"). We’re currently upgrading, and for DocMan, we’d like to move away from FTP and start using SMB. Our new application on version 22R1SU3 isn’t working with DocMan over a UNC share. We’re a Windows shop, and we have our Linux middleware segregated off into its own network so we can properly treat it like a black box. What port do we need to open for the middleware to talk to the file server? Is it enough to just open 445? I used telnet to confirm the middleware host can see port 445 on the file server. Can I do any further checking to see if the containers can see the port? From EDM Basic, I tried the hostname and the IP address, and neither worked, but nevertheless, is there a way to confirm DNS is working? I would much prefer to use human-readable hostnames. For a UNC path, can you confirm which //direction \\the //slashes \\ought //to \\go? The username is on our domain. What should the format look like, e.g. acme.com\coyote or coyote@acme.com? Are there restrictions on the characters

If a user wants to view a document, the following message box is shown:Is there an option somewhere to change the default on this message box without coding? So Name Files Using will default have the Original File Name ticked iso Document Title an Name?

Would it be possible to setup interface between MS Teams and IFS.Documents shared in Teams will be uploaded into Document management in IFS, connect to project.

Hi, Why are there both VIEW and ORIGINAL on the pdf? "Create Documents" only creates an ORIGINAL file. "Document revision" creates both files. These are two pointers to the same file. Why do we sometimes have to have two? When only one original file shows up, is it an error? Or is it a bug when there are two? BrLinda

Hi , we read all IFS related document , but only found brief describe of what Aurena Agent can do:“Areas which are enhanced by the Aurena Agent are Document Management, Printing, HCM, and Manufacturing.” actually, we know the enchance for “Document Management”,  “Printing” -opening files with the associated application -printing directly to a local printer so, what’s the enchance for Manufacturing and HCM? (especially for Manufacturing) 

When adding many attachments in Posting Proposals to an invoice we get this message.“Too many documents to transfer to overview page. Showing a limited list.”Is there a way to configure this so we can see all attachments added to the invoice?  

Is there a maximum number for attachments that can be displayed on the various screens in Aurena?We have numerous records that have 20+ attachments, but only 20 will show on screen.  They have to drill down into Document Revisions to view all of them. The attached screen shot shows a shipment with 56 attachments, but only 20 thumbnails are displayed.

Hi I have an issue where I am unable to edit the documents in 22R2. I have installed Aurena Agent and using Chrome Browser.after creating a new document from a sales quotation , when i clic on “edit” button” the system tell me “checkout succefully” but the document does not open and the macro are not running.Could anyone please help If I am missing something here configure to have this function work seamlessly. Thanks in advanceEmmanuel

Hi All,We are trying to transfer files from a shared location to the db default repository.When the action is performed online, the transfer excutes correctly without any errors, but when it is executed in the background following error occurs.Appreciate if anyone can share any ideas as to why only the background job fails and any ways to correct it. Thank you in advance.\Nija

although the wordview macro is built with the macro block “Send msgbox” when launching the Word viewer the system opens the pdf instead of displaying the msg?does anyone have an idea of what is wrong, please?Thanks / BR
