Service (Touch Apps, MWO, MRO)

Can someone please help me with answers to these questions? Does it operate when IFS is down? Does it support lot/batch number?  If so, is that configurable by product center or country/accounting entity? Is a version available with IFS8? Does it require specific scanners or minimum technical specifications? Does it require a specific barcode label printer or does it have minimum technical specifications associated with the barcode label printer?

As we have been making a lot of configuration changes and software updates that affect the mobile app, after each change we need users to initialize the mobile app. We have struggled with how to manage that process. For example, we have tried emailing all users and informing them to initialize their mobile app, but then many do not do it. We largely use WebClient and we have 100s of users that need to initialize.We’ve recently worked with IFS to setup this screen that allows us to sort by init date (or other fields), select 100s of users at once and then initialize the mobile app. This doesn’t immediately initialize the mobile app but rather the next time they use the mobile app, it will initialize.Because it could cause a flood of messaging towards the servers and may interrupt any transactions they are in the middle of, we are just using it during weekends or late hours when few users are using their mobile app. Then, the next business day, at various times when they

Originally, when we worked with IFS, the configuration was to create a separate database dedicated to TouchApps2.) Is it possible to view documents connected to objects directly in the objects screen or can they only be viewed on a work order in Apps 9 MWO

Our users – (Technicians) are experiencing long hours (12hrs) MWO Apps 10 initialization either with the mobile phone or laptop. This is causing frustration for the users.  What are the possible ways or what should we do to speed up the initialization process?

Hello, I am after some assistance with refining engineer assortments.The challenge we have is obsolete parts that are still on service contracts that can be replaced with a replacement part.Our plan is to have 2 assortments (if at all possible) one for available materials and one for all materials i.e. returns.After creating the second assortment, we have run the sync tasks and the Refresh all parts scheduled task. Within a job, the materials list does not appear to be updating, nor do we have the ability to choose between the two assortments. Is this even possible? How should separate assortments be viewed?Is there something we are missing?Many ThanksJames 

Is there a way to allow users to create fault reports but prevent them from entering the "prepare work order" page?

Hi, I have a new IFS Cloud environment. I need to use MWO.In the Microsoft store, I downloaded the app : It’s OKWhen I launch the app, the system want an URL. I write it : OKAfter, I don’t see the login screen, but a screen displaying “CLIENT DISABLED”.What do I need to do to activate the app?RegardsYannick

We are bringing a new Chinese company online in IFS in a couple of weeks and have discovered that there are a dozen or so serial objects that were created in our UK company even though the machine was installed in China and is serviced by our China company.  We need to move the serial objects from one company to the other, but the move serial object function is intersite within the same company.  Copy serial object would be a fine alternative, but it isn’t allowed because it sees the object as a duplicate.  We can’t create the equipment with new serial object IDs because the serial number on the system doesn’t physically change, it is just connected to the wrong functional object.I’ve tried:Move serial object Copy serial object Delete object from functional object (not allowed due to connected work orders) Create Component Repair Order in an attempt to return the system from one customer site and into inventory, then issue to the new cus

We have instances where the WO co-ordinator is not aware of the specific engineer to assign an MWO to. He/She just knows the local engineering team to assign to.  There is a lot of discussions about Pools, but I see no reference to this in Apps9

Recently we encountered an issue when either creating new or copying an existing survey.Upon saving the new survey we get the following error.Survey Receiver Definition Object already exists when copying surveys.This occurs for all users, including the IFSAPP.This is only occurring in production. we have tried creating a new survey and everything else works until we go to add a participant and no matter which user we try and add we get the same error.Our work around is to add participants to the survey through the backend. Any suggestions as to how we can fix this or where we should look to find root cause. Appreciate the feedback.Thank you,Marjie We are using APPS9 UD17 and utilize the Surveys for work order management on mobile.

We are working through our process for corrections and came across that the system is set up to send the negative lines of the credit to a new customer order instead of the original that needs to be corrected. Is there any where to change this creation of new lines and instead have it flow to the order we are correcting?

We are running APPS9 with UD17. Where can I dig a bit deeper to see why this error may be occurring and if in fact it is an error at all.

IFS Middleware and Certificates InformationSecurely packaged certificates/keysThe keys in the certificates are sensitive information, so it needs to be stored in a password protected container. The IFS Installer will only import secure certificate stores that fulfill:            Third-party certificates must be imported into a valid PKCS #12 store            The PKCS #12 store password must contain at least six characters            The complete Chain of Trust, including the CA Root Certificate, must be included into the PKCS #12 store            The certificate must be a Server Certificate IFS Recommend RSA Certificate EncryptionIt's recommended to use keysize 2048 and use key algorithm RSA for the Certificates used in IFS systems. 

I have created 8 debrief workflow which are created based on the base debrief flow depending on my task type. 1. Install task 2. Repair Task etc.Once I created the flow and did all the modifications. Later I need a screen( Network Details ) which will be common to all debrief flow. If I am adding the Network Details screen to base debrief flow, it's not reflecting to other created task flows.In this case how to proceed?1.Should I add the screen to base debrif and then delete all the task type debrif flow and create again the task type debrif flow?2. Or need to create individual screen for each task type flow?It will impact a lot if I do these both two.Is there any other way to do so?Please suggest  

HiWe are wanting to install IFS MWO Service 10 on a Windows 2012 R2 Server to enable IFS Support to use for troubleshooting any issues we raise as well as use by our partners.We are currently having issues installing.Does anyone know if the app is compatible?RegardsShaun

Good Afternoon All,We have a case at present where an engineers Labour is not pulling through to the Work Order. There is no problem with his travel time just the recording of time on site - I can confirm that he is starting and ending the MWO as expected, however the labour line does not appear within the WO posting - can anyone please suggest further investigation to make - Thank you  

Good Morning,Can anyone advise how the name appearing on the CONTACT field can be updated. This field automatically populates when the Work Order is saved during the prepare stage. The contact name also appears on the Work Record Sheet Signature . Many thanks for your help
