Hi Using the custom event STEP_READY_FOR_APPROVAL as part of the document management approval routing to send an email. Email subject is using the variable &MESSAGE_TEXT which as an example contains the following: “Document Class 3015, No 1678422, Sheet 1 , Rev REV00 is ready for your immediate approval” My questions is there a way to amend the content of this variable somewhere in IFS? Hello, I have made an event that throws an error message to the user, using the error_sys.record_general function, based on some criteria set in the event, which triggers on a change in the status of the object. error_sys.record_general( 'SomeLogicUnit', 'SOMEERRORMSG: this is an error message'); I am in the process of creating another event that will change the status of the object, but I am wondering if it is possible to catch the exception raised in the other event, and handle it separately? Without handling the event, and running the event manually in a DBMS, the procedure completes, but returns ORA-20110: SomeLogicUnit.SOMEERRORMSG: this is an error message My event would look something like this: BEGIN --change status on object, which may cause an error to be raised in the other event EXCEPTION WHEN ... THEN -- handle the exception raised from the other eventEND; If I specify “EXCEPTION WHEN others THEN … “ I will catch the error raised in the other event, but I won’t know the so

The navigator entry for the ‘Quick Report Categories’ form has been removed from UPD 6 onwards. Before UPD 6, ‘Category’ is a mandatory field when creating a quick report. But from UPD 6 onwards ‘Category’ is a not a mandatory field when creating a quick report. Further, from UPD 6 onwards a new field called ‘Domain’ has been introduced in the ‘Create New Quick Report’ page. It is also not a mandatory field. Both ‘Category’ and ‘Domain’ fields are used for the filtering purpose and they are useful in Aurena. Since, the ‘Category’ field is not mandatory when creating a quick report from UPD 6 onwards, ‘Quick Report Categories’ navigator entry has been removed. But from UPD 6 onwards, two new forms have been introduced. They are ‘Report Category’ and ‘Report Domain’. ‘Report Category’ form can be used to create a new Report Category (for which you used ‘Quick Report Categories’ form before UPD 6) and the ‘Report Domain’ form can be used to create a new Report Domain which you can provide

If I have a Crystal Report that contains sub-reports, do I have to add CR_WEB_INIT to the sub-reports as well as the main report?

As a customer I am unable to access wis.ifsworld.com, which is the place where I should be able to see minimum and/or recommended platform specs for running the Aurena client. Fundamentally, I’m looking to identify specs for low-end tablets that would work well enough to be functional IFS Aurena clients. Can anyone either provide an alternative location to find this information or provide it directly here? Any specific recommendations for cheap but viable tablets would also be appreciated if anyone has implemented any. Thanks, Nick

We’re creating a QuickReport where we want transaction data by month going across the row. We created an accumulating IAL grouped by YYYYMM which works great. Then creating a 2nd IAL over the first to total each YYYYMM’s Qty into it’s own month column (January, February, March, etc) and when we run that in SQL Query Tool it fails with this error: We’ve ensured all rows have valid dates.

‘Failed to retrieve Report’ Hello Community, We’ve having an issue on our test environment, receiving the ‘Failed to retrieve Report’ message (Apps 9 UDP7) when running a CR quick report. Everything fine in IFSL The database has been refreshed from Live a few months ago, but to list the numerous things we have tried with no luck. Checked reports work through Crystal. Can confirm yes Checked credentials of all sys, print, ifssys, ifsapp accounts. We have some custom fields that are truncating at 30 characters after they have been selected and saved. The enumeration drop down shows the full text value, but once saved and the screen refreshed it will re-display it showing only the first 30 characters. We are using Apps10 (upd5) on IEE. I’m opening a case with IFS, seeing if anyone else is seeing the same thing or knows about this and if a solution exists.

When trying to order a Business reporter report through IFS, and then selecting ‘view executed report’, I receive an error due to the ‘file format or file extension is not valid’. Excel is trying to open an .xlsx file when the report contains macros so its saved as .xlsm. We are new to using IFS, therefore I hope there is someone more experienced out there to assist us with this error. I tried to attach the screen shots but it is erroring on this page. Thanks

After getting my quick report (crystal report) to work by suffixing the views with _A I tried adding parameter(s). Unfortunately, this has provide errors: I have added the parameter IFS_ORDER_NO. So the Crystal Report Select Expert looks like: CUSTOMER_ORDER_A.ORDER_NO is equal to {?IFS_ORDER_NO} However, when running the Quick Report I am not prompted for the parameter value. My idea would be to create a custom menu on the Customer Order that runs the Quick Report and uses the current Customer Order No as the parameter value. Any ideas?

Does anyone try to create a matrix lobby element? Mine are not working, despite using valid data sources. Turning on the debugger, reveals that there’s a sorting in all matrix lobby elements that I create: “order by MAX_PARTICIPANT desc”. That is disregarding the data source used. We’re on IFS10 update 3.

I have a user that is trying to export query data from IFS, a large amount of query data, and he just needs the flat file (.csv). His Output channel is exporting the .csv file to Excel and trying to auto-open, and the export is taking a very long time - due to the many rows of data being downloaded to Excel. The user does not need to view this info in Excel, so is there a way to create an Output channel where it will just allow you to save the flat file to a local file folder without having to open in an application first?

I have created a Quick Report (Crystal Report) that has a parameter @OrderNo. Next I created a custom menu on the Customer Order screen that maps the parameter: Source = ORDER_NO Destination: @OrderNo On doing RMB and selecting the custom menu the @OrderNo parameter is displaying the Order No for the Customer Order that was in view at the time which is what I expected. However, when the report is displayed no data is being displayed. If I run the report in Crystal Reports and enter the Order No the report displays data. I have tried selecting View on the Quick Report and entering the Order No in the parameter field and again no data is being displayed. Any ideas? John

We have problem on production database that pictures pasted into yellow note are not saved in the database. On test database they are saved. I have figured out that yellow notes are saved in TEXT column of type CLOB in the table FND_NOTE_PAGE_TAB. We are using IFS App 9 UPDATE 7. Any suggestions ?

I have set up a Quick Report to run a Crystal Report and this works fine except that I am being prompted for Login Information each time it is run. e.g. if the Crystal Report is accessing the CUSTOMER_ORDER_TAB I receive the following: Login Information for CUSTOMER_ORDER_TAB is requested prompting me to enter: Login: Password: DB Instance: Schema Owner: Can anyone please advise what I am missing.

I have created a Custom Logical Unit in order to create a custom page. One of these fields has been setup as a referenced persistent field reading from SHOP_MATERIAL_ALLOC_CFV. There were a couple of custom fields in this view that have since been removed. When I try to bring up a list of values on the reference field I get an ‘invalid identifier’ error on one of the removed fields. Is there a way to ‘refresh’ or re-publish the list of views so the removed fields are excluded?

I have lobby data source pointing to IAL. Is there any other way to pick columns to use than write those manually? Data source ‘preview’ show data and columns even not selected any, but element designer can’t use sata source if not wrote needed columns to data source.

Does anyone have any tips on interesting/good/etc. podcasts regarding “our business”? I found only a few of them, with the most relevant being in German: ERP-Podcast.de I cannot believe there are no other good podcasts out there. Any tips?

Application messages are not processing in the IN/OUT queue and Struck in Processing. Waht could be main reason and how to troubleshoot the same.
