What is the difference between the FSM Smart Client User and Portal Client user ? IS it possible for a user to perform all type of tasks in both the FSM Smart Client and portal client. For example , if a dispatcher user role is there , whether dispatcher user can schedule the task in both FSM Smart Client and FSM Portal Client.
Any idea what values the column internal_type in table attachment resides? Which is not a UI column. So far only noted the value SIGNATURE which comes for technician/customer signature attachments. Was not able to confirm the remaining values that may exist in the ATTACHMENT.ITERNAL_TYPE column (apart from signature). I could see an entity ATTACHMENT_INTERNAL_TYPE which resides under FSM codes, that has only SIGNATURE as a code value. Could this be it though the column names slightly differ, any thoughts please?
Thought of sharing the following upon some recent questions received from a project regarding task attachments. Could be helpful if anyone has the same doubts, also to please contribute to the discussion as there are still few doubts unconfirmed as mentioned in latter. The situation was that customer have had around seven attachments attached to a task with INTERNAL_TYPE = ‘SIGNATURE’ and there was a doubt why they could not see those seven attachments in the device and how the INTERNAL_TYPE gets fetched. And whether they can manually add attachments which has INTERNAL_TYPE = SIGNATURE. See inputs below, It is correct the customer signature attachments should not be visible in mobile for the technician. The reason is technician should not have the authority to edit/remove the customer signature. The customer/technician signatures will be stored in attachments having value as ‘SIGNATURE’ in INTERNAL_TYPE column in database (not visible in UI). This is not controlled in sync rules but fr
I am attempting to get the Mobile app to update the TASK.ACTUAL_TRAVEL_START_DTTM field with the current time when the task status is changed from Assigned to En-route via the mobile app. I can update the value via client scripting, however I cannot figure out how to trigger it ONLY when the task status changes from Assigned to En-route. I had thought about updating via a business rule however I would not catch the exact time of when the status is changed on mobile, only when it is synced. Thanks in advance for advice!
Hi All, In the FSM Mobile Application there are baseline CUSTOM fields, as well as the ability to create CUSTOM fields for any screen. Some of the existing Custom fields are; CUSTOM.FULL_NAME DebriefOverview Screen CUSTOM.FORMATTED_TIME JobList Screen Displays a concatenated view of task.plan_start_dttm and task.plan_end_dttm CUSTOM.FULL_ADDRESS JobList Screen Displays a concatenated view of address, city, state, zip etc. There is the capability to add Custom Fields, which you then have the ability to configure limitedly. My question; It seems that all allowed configuration through designer is limited to the source and description, as present in the mm_field table. Nowhere in the mm_field table, or any other mm_field_** tables, can I figure out where the real source of these custom fields is defined. We have a question on Oracle version support for FSM 6. As, the mainstream support for the Oracle databases 12.1 was already ended in July 2018; and the extended support will be until Jun 2021. we currently use 12.1.0.2. Hence, we need to know by when IFS is planning to support the newer Oracle versions for FSM 6? As the latest available oracle versions are 12.2.0.2 (18c) and 12.2.0.3 (19c); and 19c is highly recommended by Oracle and due to longer support. Hence, would want to know when these will be compatible with FSM 6.
We have observed IFS Field Service using unsecure functions on android. The mobile application is using com.aviary.android.feather.common.utils.IOUtils.unzipEntry in an unsecure way. See https://support.google.com/faqs/answer/9294009 for specs on how to fix the issue. We are using FSM 5.7. update 6. Do you have any idea if this has been looked in already?

I need to import data into the the tables PLACE, PLACE_ADDRESS and ADDRESS from a single table in an excel file containing 1429 rows. I have set up an Import map for the task, and defined the appropriate fields in the map, aligning the relevant columns from the excel file and the columns for PLACE and ADDRESS, this works pretty well. Final step in the same map is to connect the PLACE and ADDRESS rows to the PLACE_ADDRESS table, definingPLACE_ADDRESS.PLACE_ID → Parent table/column PLACE.PLACE_ID PLACE_ADDRESS.ADDRESS_ID→ Parent table/column ADDRESS.PLACE_IDI have tried many different setups, but without success. It seems language translation does not work properly in IOS Mobile apps on FSM 5.7? It works fine in Android mobile but Not in IOS, is there any limitation for IOS message translation ?
We have issues with data provided by Bin. All technicians are unable to rely on the city provided on the order they are given. When receiving an order FSM does a look-up on Bing Maps which returns an incorrect city for the postal code. Can you please let us know if this is a known bug? If so, if there are any workarounds we can perform?
We currently have an issue where incorrect surveys get synced to mobile. In brief, We have set our sync rules to exclude survey type = Call Center that in inactive. But it is not happening as intended. Inactive surveys are also getting synced. Could you please give a heads up where else I should check if this is properly configured?
