How can I setup Work bench to show the material needed for Shop orders? We have materials part#s in our product structure that we would like to show in Shop Floor workbench to help nest multiple SO’s for our laser without having to open all the SO’s and make a manual list..  Thank you for any help on this.  Michael 

Hi All, We are mid way through a company by company implementation, which has being focused on European countries(where units of measurement are metric). Our next implementation will be in a USA located manufacturing company where the units of measurement are imperial. Ideally we like to use the same tech classes across the group of companies but we are unsure as to how we could do this in IFS if at all.  We use UoM’s in our tech class’s as well as in the part basic data screens. We are investigating if there is a tool in the system(Apps 9) that we can use that will process the conversions for us. We would like to be able to use the same data that is already in the tech class/part basic data area’s of the system in our US facility. We are looking at the Unit Relationships screen as a possible tool to use, but have not yet explored its functionality. See below screen grab

Hi, how can we easily have a complete overview of DOP costs, line by line? We want to do a quick sanity scan, to see if some costs are not 0 or have a crazy value.In Cloud, we can open the branch but that is not user friendly having 100 lines. Can we export a flat list or something?

Hi,in the inventory part lists screen we have a custom attribute (Owning Department).Is possible to create a lobby page with counter elements per Owning Department?So for example, if there are 5 departments, 5 elements should be presented on the lobby screen.Or do we need to make a separate element per Owning Department and place these on the lobby page?Looking forward to your answer.MfG,Dietmar

Can a Part Certificate be removed from IFS 10? Once it has been generated in a shop order build and received into inventory?I have proved a shop order can be unreceived to break down the parts back into inventory but only if a Part Certificate has not been generated. If certificate has been generated, I get an error saying “this part serial is used by 1 row in another object (part certificate) “

Hi I have a client that has several sites set up in IFSAPP9.  One site is not calculating the MRP on parts.  Other sites are calculating the MRP information for the part.  We have looked in both inventory part and master part for a field that would be stopping the MRP calculation and cannot find anything.  Has anyone come across something similar to this?  

After adjusting the calendar to reflect overtime, re-generating and re-calculating capacity etc, the capacity shows up as available in the APB (see attached picture) but it is impossible to place any load on the time added - no matter if you’re doing a re-scheduling or manual drag-and-drop. If I use the manufacturing visualizer to drag-and-drop, the extra capacity is used so it’s just the APB that isn’t working. Version is App10, upd 13.

Hi,We had a set up like below on our routings. There were 2 operations – first extruding, second packing. As we did not want to report each operation separately so we chose milestone operation - when we reported second operation the first one was automatically reported.As extrusion and packing usually happens parallel we changed the parameter on second operation into parallel. From that moment automatic reporting of previous operation stopped working. To solve the issue we started using ‘Auto report of operation parameter’ when we completed into stock.The problem appears if we add one more operation to above connected to finishing. We would like to  have operation first and second reported wh

Hi,  At the moment we build in PPM time on a WorkCentre using resource breaks.  This allows planners to see it in APB but the factory teams have no visibility of it via say workbench.  Is there a way to maybe schedule the associated works order and then make it visibility to the teams on the line? Thanks!

Community, I have a weird problem that never happens before. I have a part needs to be repaired via shop order, so it does come with the repair structure, and routings are all in Buildable status. but when I am creating a repair shop order, the component parts are never loaded, except for top parent part is there, looks like the repair structure system just ignored.  I tried multiple times, comes out the same result. anyone has the same experience and how to resolve this issue? Thank you.

Hi, how do you guys block capacity in production, without having shop orders? For example: during a project, you allready know that you will need some capacity in production, but the shop order can’t be made yet. You know for sure you will need the CNC machine, but cannot make the SO yet.We do want to reserve the capacity in production. We can’t wait untill the SO is ready, as this will delay the project. Thanks!

Hello!We’re using Alternate Inventory Parts. If, on a Shop Order, you have to use an alternate part, the work guidelines do no update - it keeps the Shop Order Material Work Guidelines of the original part. While I can obviously create an event to do this, I just want to make sure I’m not taking the hard road. I would think this would be a built-in process.

Hello IFS Users.I have a finished goods assembly on hand that I need to return to stock at the component level. I’m hoping I don’t have to do it with a bunch of inventory adjustments, but instead use some type of shop order or rework order to disassemble the assembly and return its components to the stockroom and charge the labor as well to do the disassembly.Has anyone done this type of disassembly process using IFS?Thank you all for your input.  

We somehow managed to connect a Manufacturing Labor Class to a Resource that has a resource type of “Machine. This prevents us from assigning a true person resource to the labor class, creating an error message that says “Resource Type Machine cannot be parent to Resource Type Person”. We cannot break this linkage and create a corrrect resource connection after so many trials and errors. Any help is appreciated. 

Hi, If I drag and drop operation to a occupied resource (workcenter), APB will automatically reschedule the operation that’s allready there. However, I don’t want that. I want to temporarly overload the workcenter, and afterwards drag and drop the operation that i want to move to another date.How can I turn the feature off?

Hi,When we create a count report in IFS, it seems to only create count reports for a bin location within whatever parameters that we define where inventory exists.  Is it possible to create a count report to include ALL bin locations within specific parameters to also include the empty bin locations?  If not, has anyone come up with a viable solution to also be counting empty bin locations to ensure that physically something isn’t in them, but not in the system? Thanks,Curtis Carpenter

A shop floor user is clocking into up to 10 shop orders at once (Allows concurrent labor clockings is enabled). The Time Share calculation is causing issues with cost postings. Time Share is a factor calculated based on the remaining labor hours on an operation. This is then multiplied by total clocking duration to give a duration per operation. This is less then ideal. They would strongly prefer the labor time is even split over each shop order they are clocking into (clocked into 2 operations, multiple labor time by .5, clocked into 4 operations, multiply by .25, etc....)In the attached example an employee was clocked in for .62 hours. Because Operation 5699 had less remaining labor than 7302, less labor is applied to Operation 5699.Does anyone have a fix/work around/suggestion?Thanks all for your help.

Hi All,  We got an issue from a client saying that they need to check the deviation of production for the month of January 2023. So, we suggested to get the costing from ‘Shop Orders Costs’ window after running ‘Aggregate Shop Order Costs per Shop Order’ job.But the client is saying they are calculating the costing from Product Structure level and wants to know the difference of logic deviation between product structure costing and the shop order costing.App version: 8Thank you in advance.

Problem:We have produced a machine with a part serial structure. The machine was sold and delived (Sm-object checked of), meaning that it created a serial object structure with the serialised parts.  Now we have discovered that a wrong serial no was registered on the komponent part. Therefore I want to change the component parts serial both in the serial object structure and in the serial part structure.  Does anyone have an answer as to how this is done the best way? It is in APPS10UPD15
