Field Service Management (FSM) & Planning and Scheduling Optimization (PSO)

We have had a external penetration test done recently and they have advised that we disable SSL 2.0 and 3.0. Use TLS 1.2. is this possible in IFS specifically FSM release 6 update 10?Also they advise we reconfigure the service to use a unique Diffie-Hellman moduli of 2048 bits or greater, is this ok?BTW I know how to do these in IIS/Windows just worried that I will break the application or access. application to work 

Can anyone tell me if it is possible to use Substitution vaiables in Survey questions and Answers? For example, use the place name or model_id as part of a question? We want to setup a survey at the end of tasks that the user can use to verifiy that the task was created accurately

Hi,We have recently upgraded to FSM6U13, and the dispatchers in our team are working in the web client. Before upgrading, they were working in the backoffice client, where they had the possibility to personalize their own lobbies, using the buttons below:However, in the web client, there are no such option to personalize the lobbies, as far as I can see. It is only the “scroll bar” to adjust the zoom of the lobby, but the “person-lock” icon is not visible. Are there any settings that needs to be adjusted to make this work, or are there a limitation in the web client?

I am trying to set up scheduled SQL backups of the IFS databases, however I get an error saying “Agent XPs Component is Turned Off as Part of the Security Configuration for this Server”. I understand how to enable the Agent XP component, but wanted to check that this hasn't been turned of deliberately as part of the IFS installation? 

We have received a suggestion to be able to show on screen our engineers precise locations live. We are not sure where to start. Can anyone point me in the correct area of IFS I should be looking? Perhaps some basic overview of what is possible would be handy.

When a work order is created, what is the default address assigned to it? Does the address come from the object or the customer?I know you can assign addresses from the customer or object to a work order but just wanted to know what the default is. Thanks! 

Hello, We used to have 2 datasets running in one PSO environnment coming from the same FSM environment. Since FSM 6U13 + PSO 6U8 we manage to run only 1 dataset by FSM environment connected to our PSO one.In other words, we can run 2 datasets in 1 PSO but only datasets coming from different FSM environments. But we do not manage anymore to run 2 datasets coming from the same FSM environment . Do you have experience feedback on this since FSM 6U13 / PSO 6U8 ?Thank you in advance,Regards

Hi,We are trying to add some resource buckets in PSO, to schedule the activities in a better way.However, we see two different issues which we wonder how to solve:When commiting activities to the resource bucket, the DSE overwrites the changes made, so that the activities are uncommited again. In the documentation it says that you should “simply click on the desired bucket shift and then click on 'Make Bulk Changes' at the top of the resulting pop-up.” In our version of PSO however, there are no “Make Bulk Changes” button, as far as I can see. Is there any way that you can “link” persons/resources to the resource bucket. What I want to achieve is that I can commit a bulk of activities to the resource bucket, and that the technician who is linked to the resource bucket is able to find these in the Mobile App.

When changing status in FSM Home screen the UI is not updated unless the user navigates to another screen and returns to the home screen. Steps to recreate the issue:Click on Work Status   Change the Work Status from On Shift to Off Shift.   UI still labeled as On Shift. Navigate to another screen and return to Home UI is now correctly set to Off Shift    

I have always struggled to get Sync Rules working correctly so have largely avoided modifiying them.  However, i need to modify the Task one as we have an issue whereby when a person gets tasked to a new Task, they only see Request Notes added after they have been Tasked.  We need them to get ALL the Previous Notes for that Request.How i understand Sync Rules is that:1.The Ownership Query decides who gets the data2.The Initial Query is the one that runs when a device is initialised3.The Related Query is the one that runs once data in the Table (Task in our case) gets updated.The problem i have had before is when modifying the Related Query it sent too much data and clogged up the system for a week.  I had checked all the joins etc and they were all correct. I cant post it here as i undid it a long time ago.Anyone have any pointers or tips for using and modifying these?

Is there a way to maintain my visits in PSO when fixing the allocated start date and time?  Example, I have an 8 hour activity.  PSO Splits the activity into 3 visits (All the same scheduling activity ID).  When I fix the date and time in PSO, it fixes all 8 hours to a single visit starting a visit ID 1 ignoring any availabilities set on the activity. 

Hi,We have just upgraded from FSM5, to FSM6. In the Joblist screen in the previous mobile app, there were a OOTB button in the bottom right corner, where you could choose what you wanted to sort the tasks by, for instance created_dttm, severity etc. In the mobile app for FSM6, I see that you can create these on your own. However, I cannot find anything related to this in the documentation, so I wonder what is the best way to solve this?And, what is the value that this list is sorted by OOTB?

Can we pass dynamic value in FSM label?

When using IFS Applications with PSO, all of your scheduling data is loaded into PSO with the LOAD.  If you are using ARP as well, is there a way to have your scheduling data to automatically copy to ARP (Such as resources, resource types, etc...)?

Hi Team, We have a requirement to save attachments in FSM based on File Type in respective folders. For example, Solution document type to saved into the folder Solution created inside the default File Attachment directory. We were advised that we can try extending the method SaveAttachmentAsFile in AttachmentPolicy file. I tried creating a custom Attachment Policy and inherited it from AttachmentPolicy class. But I am not getting an option to override the method SaveAttachmentAsFile. Below code is giving error, no suitable method found to override. We have an requirement where we need to filter the data from Global Code on the basis of a specific logic,To acheive that we have created a view ,But if we then use this view in lookups for different fields we see that message translations configured on Global codes stop working.Is there a way by which we can still have message translations when we are using an custom view and not global codes directly

Hi,     We are facing an challenge in segregating survey answers for difft customers,We have surveys that are not customer specific so essentially we are reusing the same surveys for multiple customers.But the problem with this approach is that  customers are getting some options in survey answers which are not at all relevant for them,Now is there a way by which we can control which options are valid for what customers.The second approach we have thought of is having seperate surveys for all customers using refernce id field,but that is just causing a lot of duplicate data.Has anybody faced a simialr issue and how exactly didi you end up resolving this,Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

As we are designing the implementation on FSM 6/PSO 6 and a lot of customizations are already identified by now and we need to know that they can be transferred and applied on whichever is the next supported version for field service management without the need to be re-written to different languages. Since we plan to be live on 2023 we need to design the functionalities in a future proof way for the next 10 years.

Title says it all, really. I am doing an upgrade readiness assessment for a CE customer, but because CE uses FSM for the DB, I need to know if an inbound ODBC connection is possible. I’m afraid my expertise is around CE, not FSM and I can’t find documentation telling me either way (which makes me think it is not possible. ThanksDamian

Hi,We have created a custom table and when creating a new record all is fine, apart from one small issue.One of the columns in the table is called ‘expiry_dt’. This column has been set with a ‘dateonly’ mask type. When we try to save a value in this column we get an exception of;        <system_error>          <severity>ERROR</severity>          <message>Data member specified by expiry_dt cannot be found.</message>        </system_error>I have created numerous custom tables in the past. Never seen this error before. Searching the community I can see this topic; which references the same error. No comments on that yet, so though I would ask with a different angle to it. Anyone else seen this, or can assist with what the exception is telling me. RegardsAdy 

We have IFS FSM and it is currently installed on a Server 202R2 server and wish to move it to Server 2019 as 2012R2 goes end of life next year. Could someone please advise how this is done and if there is someone I can speak to in support about this as currently they just say its nit a bug so not supported.
