Field Service Management (FSM) & Planning and Scheduling Optimization (PSO)

Hi Team, We have a requirement to save attachments in FSM based on File Type in respective folders. For example, Solution document type to saved into the folder Solution created inside the default File Attachment directory. We were advised that we can try extending the method SaveAttachmentAsFile in AttachmentPolicy file. I tried creating a custom Attachment Policy and inherited it from AttachmentPolicy class. But I am not getting an option to override the method SaveAttachmentAsFile. Below code is giving error, no suitable method found to override. We have an requirement where we need to filter the data from Global Code on the basis of a specific logic,To acheive that we have created a view ,But if we then use this view in lookups for different fields we see that message translations configured on Global codes stop working.Is there a way by which we can still have message translations when we are using an custom view and not global codes directly

Hi,     We are facing an challenge in segregating survey answers for difft customers,We have surveys that are not customer specific so essentially we are reusing the same surveys for multiple customers.But the problem with this approach is that  customers are getting some options in survey answers which are not at all relevant for them,Now is there a way by which we can control which options are valid for what customers.The second approach we have thought of is having seperate surveys for all customers using refernce id field,but that is just causing a lot of duplicate data.Has anybody faced a simialr issue and how exactly didi you end up resolving this,Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

As we are designing the implementation on FSM 6/PSO 6 and a lot of customizations are already identified by now and we need to know that they can be transferred and applied on whichever is the next supported version for field service management without the need to be re-written to different languages. Since we plan to be live on 2023 we need to design the functionalities in a future proof way for the next 10 years.

Hi ,[ Que on IFS FSM ] How do we identify a clickable url from notes or description . Say someone is writing notes as : this is sample note 1this is sample note 2www.google.com I want the 3rd line i.e. www.google.com needs to be hyperlink , the way it’s working here . TIA,Mahesh   

Title says it all, really. I am doing an upgrade readiness assessment for a CE customer, but because CE uses FSM for the DB, I need to know if an inbound ODBC connection is possible. I’m afraid my expertise is around CE, not FSM and I can’t find documentation telling me either way (which makes me think it is not possible. ThanksDamian

Hi,We have created a custom table and when creating a new record all is fine, apart from one small issue.One of the columns in the table is called ‘expiry_dt’. This column has been set with a ‘dateonly’ mask type. When we try to save a value in this column we get an exception of;        <system_error>          <severity>ERROR</severity>          <message>Data member specified by expiry_dt cannot be found.</message>        </system_error>I have created numerous custom tables in the past. Never seen this error before. Searching the community I can see this topic; which references the same error. No comments on that yet, so though I would ask with a different angle to it. Anyone else seen this, or can assist with what the exception is telling me. RegardsAdy 

We have IFS FSM and it is currently installed on a Server 202R2 server and wish to move it to Server 2019 as 2012R2 goes end of life next year. Could someone please advise how this is done and if there is someone I can speak to in support about this as currently they just say its nit a bug so not supported.

Hi everyone, Related to FSM 6 UPD10, we realized that the REQUEST syncrule (Initial query) is mentioning two database views (‘task_assigment_view2’ and ‘task1_view’) that seems does not exist. If I query for the related views  I get the next error: Please, see attached document with the XML SYNCRULE. Can someone help me on this?Thanks and regards,

Hi all,another question regarding MX_U table, if FSM application is in IFS managed service, who maintains the MX_U table for deleting the old records?  As this table can be very big and the usage of old history might not be necessary anymore. If it’s customer’s responsibility to maintain it, can you describe steps to check and do it? Thanks again,~Juni

We have built a custom table and want the same on our mobile application. So we built a sync rule and were able to send data successfully from the mobile app to the back office application. However, whenever we are making any changes on the back office application, the same was not reflecting on the mobile app in real time. We were able to send the changed data through Batch Delta and Batch All methods. How can we have real time sync for a custom table?

Hi Experts,As you may know, several regions use the comma as their decimal separator in numerics. This change is accommodated in FSM web client when the regional settings have been modified. However, this is not the case for FSM mobile. Despite changing the regional settings in the mobile devise, the comma is not accepted as the default decimal separator. Is there a known fix for this? Thank you!

Is there any way to restrict the selection of Task Statuses based upon the Task Type? We need this becuase certain types of tasks should only have certain statuses

Dear Experts, Can anybody help me to achieve this requirement hiding the dropdown value in tab level.Requirement: Hiding the Urgency Status dropdown in part need tab based on task type.For example: If task type = “XYZ” then part need Urgency status should have value “ABC1” , “ABC2”If task type = “MNO” then part need Urgency status should have value “GHI1” , “GHI2”. Any suggestions is appreciated.Note: Used Client script array its working fine for task or header level, need suggestion for part need or tab/line level. Thanks in advance.Kaustav.

what is the use of mx_u table in FSM?mx_u table is writing 1.5 million records daily and it is causing my table space to get filled. what is the use of this table. 

Hi,we have gathered some data from MX_U table.  But I come across to a question how to interpret some data shown. On this captured screen data of Feb. 02, 2022, at around 1 am.mx_u_01, mx_u_02 fields showed something related to mobile app.But user doesn’t have mobile device installed.The question is because: time was wee morning, user didn’t do any work, and user doesn’t have mobile device installed.And a lot of same processes.  From this data shown, what does this data mean? MX_U table no mobile device for the user Look forward to your enlightenment. :-) Cheers,~Juni

Good day Creation and management of rosters will move from FSM to PSO in my situation. Creating exclusions on a resource on the roster in PSO reflects on the PSO schedule board. As the FSM schedule board will still be used to manage some tasks, is there a way to have the exclusions created in PSO display on FSM schedule board? Regards,Hannes

We would like to visualize project milestones on the schedule board. Is there a baseline functionality to manage milestones in FSM?A workaround would be:Use milestones in ‘place view’ of the schedule board. In place view projects can be shown as they, in our case, relate to places. We created a dummy 'milestone-technician' (and Team) and used different task types for the specific differentiation of milestones themselves. Therefore the workaround isCreate Technician and Team MLSTN Create different milestone task types As said, this is just a workaround and we would like to know if there is something more project related available.Thanks in advance and regards,Thomas

Dear All, I am facing an issue in schedule board. I have a team having 15 members. And out of 15members 10 are resource. In schedule board it should come 10 resource but I can see more than 10. Those extra members coming from this 15 members list only. Can anyone tell me what might be the reason?Is there any wrong configuration happened. Thanks & Regards,Rajat
