Hello guys,I’m trying to upgrade Apps8 database objects to Apps10 UPD8 using the build provided by IFS and getting this kind of errors from the installer at the very early stage after deployment process started. When trying to create a Document, or upload an existing one it’s giving me a generic error:“Group Id, Person Id or Object Id must have a value”. I have checked Person group exists for that Document Class which has a object connection as well. What am I missing here? Many thanks!

Hi All,Document management doesn’t seem to be activated even after setting the object connections and permissions. All the users are facing this issue. The issue persists even with IFSAPP login. This issue is with other windows as well. We can’t attach any documents to any window. What might be the issue for this?Thanks & Best Regards,Nipun

 Hi,I need to limit Document Class “100 - Drawing” to attach only PDF as File Type. I do not want to attach other file types to document class 100. Is it possible via Macros tab in Document Class Management of Class 100? or Is there any other way? Thanks in advanceNimesh

How to navigate to two screens at one time in IFS aurena?#aurena

Hi,We have a requirement to set up a Default Document (Like Sales Conditions) for Invoices (Document Class) of one Company. This document should be attached to every invoice.Do we have any such setup in Document Management?Thanks

In order to know what view we need to fetch information from in the past (IFS Appl 10 and backwards) we could always query the good old “Object connections” that has:Now, since we only are allowed to fetch data from projections (starting with Cloud21R1 and upwards) - how do we know what projection to invoke depending on what object(s) a document is connected to?

Under Document Management → Approvals, the “object info” rmb option is only available for certain logical units. As an example, it’s either greyed out or absent for PaymentAddress and PartytypeProperty, but it’s there for CustomerInfo.I’ve had a look under logical units and I can’t see a pattern here. Example: Some of the ones that work have rowkey enabled, others don’t. So, does anyone know what the difference is? Even better, is there a way to enable “object info” for LUs where it’s not available?Thanks in advance... 

Afternoon everyone, One of our users has a number of approvals connected to sub-contract valuations but when he clicks on object information to view, it takes him to a blank screen. I think this is because the particular valuation has been cancelled, but the approval is remaining in his list. Does anyone know how we can get rid of these? Will this require removing them from the tables or a data repair release from IFS?When we RMB on the highlighted line, the only option available is Object Info...When we select Object Info the screen is completely blank, so I cannot delete the approval lines from there.ThanksHayley

I am trying to create a transmittal using the assistant tool in Aurena, however I noticed that the options to end via E-mail or Zip a file do not appear as the would in EE. Are they not available in Aurena?     

Hi, We have the event Document Ready for Approval, and one of our customer’s would like to exclude some users or group of user to receive mail from this Event. This works for one user if we define it under the conditions. The user will not get any mails. They would like to know how to exclude persons in a certain Document Group (Person group). Thanks and Best Regards,Thilini

Hello experts, In document management, can we set a certain time in days for step approval. Lets suppose, 5 people need to approve a document one by one. Can we set a limit on each step that each one shouldn’t take more than 5 days to approve,. If five days are crossed, it moves to another person. In case, the approver doesn’t either approve or reject due to any reason, how can we move to the next approver. Like Forward or bypass etc.Main idea is to restrict approve to prevent delay in approval process.Note: Using Group is not a option here, client uses individual as document approvers.Please advise. Regards 

In V8, is there a way in the document management system to restrict access to documents in obsolete status for users who have only view access on doc class. We would like to give them view access only to documents in released status, so that they are not able to find a document in preliminary or obsolete status. Thanks for your help

I wonder if somebody has done automation where a process needs to export a document to a shared drive?Any idea how to do this? Is there a tool in IFS to do the export?Thanks,JL 

In document revision screen in general tab while clicking on View/Edit/Print option I am not able to see the report which is checked in. but from database in EDM_FILE_STORAGE_TAB I can see the PDF report. I am getting the information message as shown in the screenshot.Appreciate any lead or help for the fix. Thanks in Advance. 

There is a customer requirement to hide the document number from the “list view” of the document attachment panel. Is this possible? Please check the attached screen shot. They want to hide the underlined portion.

Hi,Is it possible to attach more than one file to a Document Revision/Document Sheet?

Hi,Whenever we create project invoice, it seems that IFS generates a PDF that is automatically attached to the invoice object. But we do not understand where this functionality has been set up… In the past, we were generating documents in Database repository, and this functionality described above was working fine. Then we switched to FTP repository and since then, it became impossible to retrieve invoices atached automatically after the date of implementation of the ftp (past invoice are still accessible). It seems that IFS keeps creating the invoice in the DataBase, but tries to retrieve them from the FTP, so we get an error message saying the document does not exist on the FTP.Does anyone face such issues? or know where all of that is set up ?NB: We do not mind to keep our invoices in the database instead of FTP, but all the other documents must be on FTP due to size issues.Thanks in advance for your hep !

We are in Apps 10 UPD 10.  Our Accounts payable team is currently manually attaching a document with Document class ‘Payment’ to the Manual Supplier Invoice screen for a Supplier / Invoice, so they have a copy of the supplier invoice to refer to on that screen. They would like the same document to also be attached (automatically if possible) to the Supplier Invoices Analysis screen for that Supplier / Invoice.I thought this was done via Document Object Connection or Object Connection Transformation but I have not figured out how. Hint please? Thanks

Do anyone know whether  IFS Rental Module supports Rent Out of Configured Parts (CTO Parts)?

Business requirement is that we receive Supplier quality certificates that we check into IFS / Supplier. Those certificates need a validity period set. The users need to get notified when the quality certificate is about to expire. I found the below thread useful where I read the responses from @Mathias Dahl and @william.klotz. My question is slightly similar to @DominikaM’s question on the previous thread. I need set an expiry date for a certain document class only. Within that Doc class, I need to control the expiry date at individual doc revisions and get a notification before that date.  Seems IFS dosen’t provide a straightforward way of doing it. Do you think I will be able to achieve it through a custom event only? i.e. I set up a user email that gets a notification generated when the document is nearing the expiry date that I entered when checking it in IFS. Unlike the previous thread, we enter a new revision only after Rev 1 is set to expiry / obsolete. 

Hi,There is a threads in the category “Framework & Experience” regarding handling documents on different versions of the new migration tool Smart Data Manager.Maybe someone within the DocMan community have an answer to the following, which is part of a question I posted in that thread? (Please see the other post to get the context of the question.)“Will any or both of the versions be able to handle BLOB/CLOB data? Or in other words, possible to handle file data in DocMan which is stored as BLOB data.”(The wording “both versions” refer to Smart Data Tool (an add-on for IFS Apps 10) and Smart Data Manager (IFS Cloud), and whether this is correct I leave to the authors in that thread to cater for:) )/Erik

We have documents flow from Business Opportunity to Customer Order - in one instance a bunch of documents flowed from Business Opportunity to Customer Order but we don’t actually want them on the Customer Order.   How can I detach them without losing the original document attached to Business Opportunity
