Hi,There is a threads in the category “Framework & Experience” regarding handling documents on different versions of the new migration tool Smart Data Manager.Maybe someone within the DocMan community have an answer to the following, which is part of a question I posted in that thread? (Please see the other post to get the context of the question.)“Will any or both of the versions be able to handle BLOB/CLOB data? Or in other words, possible to handle file data in DocMan which is stored as BLOB data.”(The wording “both versions” refer to Smart Data Tool (an add-on for IFS Apps 10) and Smart Data Manager (IFS Cloud), and whether this is correct I leave to the authors in that thread to cater for:) )/

Hi,We have set up a new report rule to get the PDF from our Project invoice print, check it in Document Management and attach it to the Project Invoice screen. It works really well if the Document Management repository is set to Database but we cannot get it to work if is FTP. We are in Apps10 UPD6.Has anyone got a report rule Check in Document Management to work with FTP or do you think it is a restriction from IFS?Many Thanks and Regards,Anne-Sophie

Business requirement is that we receive Supplier quality certificates that we check into IFS / Supplier. Those certificates need a validity period set. The users need to get notified when the quality certificate is about to expire. I found the below thread useful where I read the responses from @Mathias Dahl and @william.klotz. My question is slightly similar to @DominikaM’s question on the previous thread. I need set an expiry date for a certain document class only. Within that Doc class, I need to control the expiry date at individual doc revisions and get a notification before that date.  Seems IFS dosen’t provide a straightforward way of doing it. when there is no direct mapping, a custom method is the usual way to set up a transformation.Instead of using a method, can we use a custom field  to set up an Object Connection Transformation when the direct mapping fields are not available in the Target?the custom filed is not coming up in the LOV of available fields for me.

I am looking for a better explanation of the settings for ‘Editable’ in Object Connection Transformations than what is provided in the F1 Help for Service Name = DocReferenceObject. We have documents flow from Business Opportunity to Customer Order - in one instance a bunch of documents flowed from Business Opportunity to Customer Order but we don’t actually want them on the Customer Order.   How can I detach them without losing the original document attached to Business Opportunity

If the requirement was to upload 8,00,000 images in media library. Would it be advisable to load it in database?  What is the expected growth in the size of the database? If not in media library, is the only other alternative isto store in Docman?.  

Is there any way to use metadata on document revisions other than creating custom fields?

My customer are in APP10 UPD12 using only Aurena client and MS AAD. They are going to start using the DOCMAN..Here is the question I received from customer “ I need to know the impact of Document Management on the system?  We are looking at approximately 1 million + documents per year.  What is the impact of using the default repository?  What options are available?  Ect" I have also read it in community note that “to over come the growing database concern, customer could opt for the other repository options which is already there in the document management.Those other options are FTP and shared folders (on the application server itself or on a network share).”But in another answer FTP and Shared document repositor

Hello,yesterday after power outage(restart all servers) we are not able to attach document to any IFS object (CustomerOrder, PurchaseOrder) that has diacritic in filename (NabídkaMŠ.pdf). We are not able even open(see) the documents, that have been already saved in IFS before (for example 3 weeks ago) and have diacritic filenames. The documents without diacritic we can attach and see in IFS.Very strange behaviour.Any help please?Jan West

Hello,  Do you know a way to automatically delete documents with a specific document class and status? we need to determine the expiry date of the document and after that date remove it from IFS

For customer on APPS10, soon to be on IFS Cloud 21R1, On a work order, is there a way to get attached documents to print to a specific printer?In existing functionality where you can “Print attached documents” from work order guidelines, it will download docman document and then print to the default printer installed on device running the IFS application.Could it be possible to setup so that certain doc classes for example, gets routed to specific printers? Similar to our Printer Definition for operational reports functionality?Any ideas how to create such a modification, or configure it to do that? This is a question i have gotten few times by different customers. For example, drawings needs to go to a certain color printer, while work instructions or other attached pdf documents should go to a black and white printer in a different area. Hi,This is related to a prospect customization in Aurena App10 (UPD9):One of our Customers has a requirement to open documents (Word or Excel) in an editable mode once it is uploaded to IFS DocMan through the attachment panel. Then the User is allowed to do required changes to the document content, and upon closing the document it should be automatically checked-in to IFS.I would highly appreciate if you can respond whether this is a feasible solution or if you have any previous experience related to this.

Hi All,There is a request from a customer to customize the Attachments Panel in IFS Aurena (APP10 - UPD9),  to convert  the documents attached using the below options in the attachment panel as a PDF Document upon creating the document. This can be used for any of the file types (Word / Excel). Both Original version and the created PDF should be stored in DocMan. I would highly appreciate if you can respond whether this is a feasible solution or if you have any previous experience related to this

Hi,IFSAPP10, Aurena with IFS Aurena Agent and IFS Aurena Extension, DocMan with Macro and open Word. When I have use edit document, word file has been checked out according user settings, but word does not open with word file. How can we open world file directly after checkout with Aurena Client?

 Hi all Docman fans,I work at IFS R&D with the IFS Document Management (aka “Docman”) functionality.Sometimes we need input from customers (“Do they use X? How? Why? When?
