Many customers are using Supplier Agreements with Blanket Orders in IFS to support long‑term, pre‑approved contracts and enable efficient call‑off purchasing via agreement releases. This approach works well for recurring goods and services by reducing approvals, enforcing agreed prices, and streamlining operational procurement. In practice, however, several areas are commonly raised for discussion when using this functionality: Authorization and control model Blanket Orders are treated as pre‑authorized by design. Releases generated from these agreements do not trigger PO authorization, even when values change due to additional lines or charges. This often leads to questions around governance, delegation of authority, and audit compliance. Handling of value changes and charges Additional costs or changes to the PO value are considered part of the already approved blanket commitment. While this aligns with the original concept, it can be challenging for organizations that expect author

Hi AllI see the following behaviour in IFS and I am thinking whether the behaviour is correct.I have enabled the following setting in the company level. Environment - 24R2Delay Cost of Goods Sold to Delivery Confirmation I followed following steps.Created a customer order with delivery confirmation enabled Reserve the customer order and deliver the customer order through a shipment OESHIP transactions are not getting created because of the Delay Cost of Goods Sold to Delivery Confirmation setting. My assumption was I can create a RMA (Return Material Authorization) and return the part against the order that I delivered. But when I do that its always empty.I thought its because of the pending delivery confirmation. But I performed the delivery confirmation. After that I cancelled the previously created RMA and Create a new RMA but still I cannot return the parts. If this flow works differently when we use Delay Cost of Goods Sold to Delivery Confirmation functionality? Feels like a bu
Hi everyone,We have a question regarding the handling of returns and rework:In our current process, we match the supplier invoice against a receipt immediately after Register Arrival (while the part is still in inspection). However, if that part is later sent back for Rework—either directly from inspection or from stock—the system generates a new, open receipt upon its return. The Issue: The original receipt ends up "over-matched," while the new receipt remains open, causing our GRNI (Goods Received Not Invoiced) account to drift. Currently, we have to fix this manually with manual voucher, which is very time-consuming.My Question: Is there a standard way to handle these rework cycles without manual accounting workarounds? How do you manage returns so they stay linked to the original matched invoice? Thanks in advance for your insights! Order Report - Received - Not Yet Invoiced
We are experiencing a situation in IFS Apps 10 where multiple purchase requisition lines are being generated for the same part and supplier, rather than being grouped as expected. In one example, we have four requisition lines that all share the same Wanted Delivery Date (12/11/2025) but have three different Wanted Receipt Dates. Our base expectation is that lines 1 and 2 (same dates) should be summarized into one requisition of quantity 40. Since the Wanted Delivery Date is what prints on the PO, we would ideally expect all four lines to be summarized into a single requisition of 80, in line with the Supply Chain Matrix logic.Previously, these parts were set up with Planning Method G and Order Cover Time = 7, but that configuration created too much demand and led to overstocking. For reference, part 9302 has a safety stock of 69 (approximately one week). We have also noticed similar behaviour for suppliers X and Y.There are no obvious reasons for the requisition lines to be split, and w
Hi,We’re stumbling upon an issue where the benefit we see in using Handling Units is not in reach. The use case is that we manufacture many small parts on different Shop Orders, these parts are engineered-to-order and therefore manufactured via DOP and automatically Pegged to the Top Level in the DOP Header. This results in automatically Reserved Qty as of Shop Order Receipt of these small parts. The issue we’re facing is that these parts can be up towards 100 different part numbers which we then want to attach to a Handling Unit for efficient inventory movement, but this is not possible without unreserving these parts.Neither is it possible to connect the same Handling Unit to multiple different Shop Orders, to receive them onto the connected Handling Unit.Any proposals on how to solve this issue, preferably with core functionality or configurations are highly appreciated. Thanks,Alexander
Hi Community,I have a requirement from a client where they purchase parts (these parts are not assets) for a project. When the parts are received, they need to be issued for work, and after the work is completed, the same parts will be returned back to stock. However, the challenge is that we need to issue the inventory that was purchased for the project, because the cost must be moved from the Inventory account to the P&L account to support project revenue recognition.Could you please share your experience if you have come across a similar requirement, and whether there is any possible way to handle this scenario within IFS?One possible option I considered is using a Work Order, where materials can be issued and later returned. However, this approach does not work for our case. Also, I cannot simply issue and unissue the material against the project demand, because the cost of the purchase needs to be moved from Inventory to P&L for revenue recognition purposes.
How to manage global demand of a manufactured part
Why do the "Previous Work Center" and "Next Work Center" fields in the "Shop Order Operations" screen display " - " (space-space)when they are empty? When I search for data where these fields are empty, the leading space is removed in the basic search. I can only add the spaces back when I switch to the advanced search. This behavior makes searching with these fields unnecessarily complicated for end users.
There’s a confusion on the behavior of the event that reminds of the Target Day. As per the customer, whenever he raises a PO some folks get an email for the target day, and when others raise it, they don't get it even though they belong to the same approval purchase group.Need to find out the system behavior based on the setup and who should get notified and why - that would be good to figure out here so we can use this optimally. TIA
Hello All,Our organization currently utilizes Apps 9. When creating new Shipment ID’s we use the “Order Lines Available for Shipment” > RMB > “Connect to Shipment”. Our teams are inquiring if this RMB job can be relocated to the Customer Order screen at the Line Level. Has anyone experimented with this before or understand if this workflow is feasible?
If an MS1 part has forecast from Demand Planner within the Planning Time Fence, should a delivered Customer Order consume the forecasted amount within the PTF? Should the forecast from Demand Planner even be in the Planning Time Fence? How would forward consumption affect this item? Are there recommended settings for the forecast to be consumed during PTF? Please see the attached document for samples
Hi All,I am using customer consignment stock functionality. As part of the solution I am trying to capture the consumption stock value to the project. I understand that when the customer consignment stock is in use, IFS does not allow to connect to a Project activity. But in the customer consingment stock consumption page shows an activity ID. But I cannot identify the purpose and how to connect an activity to this.Ideally I want to capture the consignment stock consumption to the project and capture the actual consumption based on the usage. Any plans or work arounds for this please?Highly appreciate any support on this requirement. Thanks,Chamath
Hi IFS Community, Subject:Our sales team wants to implement a customer leveling system (segmentation) within IFS. The goal is to categorize customers based on their value/performance: Level A: Top-tier customers Level B/C: Mid-tier Level D: Low-performing or "poor" customers What is the most efficient way to handle this in IFS Apps 10? We are considering a few options: Customer Statistic Group: Using the standard "Stat Group" field on the Customer record. Custom Fields: Creating a persistent custom field with a fixed List of Values (LoV). Customer Category: Utilizing the built-in Category field (though this is often used for Prospect/Customer distinction). My questions are: Which standard field do you recommend for such a rating system? If we use a Custom Field, have you implemented any automation (e.g., via Lobby or Business Reporter) that updates these levels based on annual revenue?

Hello, I keep running into the problem that I only need to place a single order with a supplier. If I create a new supplier every time I do this, the number of suppliers in IFS quickly shoots up. Is there a way to create a ‘dummy’ supplier that I can adapt each time I want to place a new order? The ‘one-off supplier’ function isn’t suitable here.
Hi Team,I have created a Customer Hierarchy, and I am trying to associate a Rebate Agreement to the Customer Hierarchy. Once, I check the box for “Use Hierarchy” and then enter my “Hierarchy - ID”, it is presenting me with a warning pop-up message regarding Assortments. Why is this? I am not planning to use Assortments, and the Agreement Type I selected is “Use Sales Part Rebate Group”. Best Regards,Alex
Add as many details as possible, by providing details you’ll make it easier for others to reply
Hello,When deactivating a code in the system, there is currently no warning indicating whether the code is still being used in the background. As a result, I have to manually check multiple screens one by one to verify its usage. To improve efficiency and prevent potential errors, I kindly request support for either implementing a warning system that notifies users if the code is actively in use, or providing a shortcut that displays all related usage points. The main areas I currently have to check manually are:Work orders screen (whether there are any open work orders) Production structure (whether the parent item has any open work orders) Sales order lines (whether there are ongoing orders) Purchase order lines (whether there are any open purchase requests) Stock status (whether there is available stock in the system)Automating these checks within the system would help prevent user errors and significantly improve operational efficiency.Thank you in advance for your support.Best regar
Is it possible to send a POST request using Postman or another tool via a REST API, and also have the same transaction captured as an Application Message in IFS Cloud? For example, if I create a new Inventory Part using a REST API POST request, can that request (or its details) be logged as an Application Message, so that it records information related to the payload for tracking or auditing purposes?
Hi community,I have a question around scrapping causes. I only just noticed in 25R2 (it is possible in earlier versions as well though so not sure when the change happened) that it is possible to delete scrapping causes despite them having been used in previous transactions. I am really confused by this because I am used to the fact that you cannot delete basic data if it has been previously used. Hence the reason, you have an option there to block the item. However, it is possible to delete the scrapping causes regardless of whether they have been used in an inventory scrap or not. The only time I cannot delete it, is when the scrapping cause has been used to scrap parts during a receipt. Then, I do still get an error saying I cannot delete the scrapping cause. This doesn’t make sense to me but that is not to say that IFS haven’t done this intentional and there is good reason why there is a difference between an inventory and receipt scrap. Does anyone know and would like to share the
