Hi,One of our customers is experiencing an issue. MRP is creating purchase requisitions without any lines (part or no part), so only the purchase requisitions header. But, this is ad-hoc (this happens occasionally). Is there a way that MRP can create purchase requisitions without any lines ?I have checked whether there is any custom task to delete the PR lines of certain parts, but there’s no. Thank you,
Good afternoon,We are struggle with APB, following a nice user guide, we try to take our hands on it but we face a technical issue at point 2.2.6.First, after loading shop order, is it not colored as in the manual:Example from the manual what i observe: when i RMB Scheduling: SO remain unscheduled.Someone could help me to start?
Are there special considerations when setting up PMRP and using parts with planning method E? We are running such a case in Apps 9 and it looks like the unit cost is calculated to 0, resulting in all demand being put together into one lot. It works fine with regular MRP. Since this is an old version, maybe this is a known and corrected bug?
Hello, I am wondering if there is a way to configure the IFS client to automatically login with a supplied user account and password? Currently, we have around 80 shop floor terminals across our manufacturing facilities. An issue I’ve seen is that in the event of a power outage, all of the SF terminals at the Site must be manually logged back in. I have been able to automate up to the point where I have the PCs automatically login to the Windows environment and launch IFS, but I have not been able to figure out how to pass credentials through and execute the actual login. Any guidance would be greatly appreciated.
One of my customers would like to restric the issue of material in the Shop Order to the Quantity Planned as per the product Struct7re. Currently, the system allows to over-issue. Is there a facility to stop this Nitin
Community, Would like to know how you are handling material flow between work center inbound and outbound locations. we have inbound and outbound locations defined in each work center.in order to produce finished product ABC, prior to assembly, we have semi-finished products, A, B, C manufactured. basically, semi products A, B, C will stay in their outbound location of the its last work center, usually it is a Floor Stock location. when shop order for finished product ABC is released, we would like to see in the system, that A, B, C are all on a transport task and ready to move to final product ABC work center inbound location. How to make this happen? Thank you.
Hi Community,we are working with Apps 10 Upd. 11 and want to print a label with Part_no and Description, but on Inventory part barcode label (INVENTORY_PART_BARCODE_REP / InventoryPartBarcodeRep) there is no Part Description. But on Inventory Part Barcode Analysis it is visible.Any proposals for a fix without modification? And does anyone print a simple picture of the part on the labels? In my opinion a great approach to avoid errors.Thank you for your feedback!Regards Martina
Hi, I am working on implementing Production Schedules and am seeing some peculiar results depending on if the Schedule Firm check box is selected or not on the Production Schedule by Line.I would appreciate inputs on the functionality of this check box and it’s impacts if any on the Production Receipts based on the value. Thank you.
MRP runs for a site, but the component whose parents/grandparents have demands does not plan (i.e. IPAP screen is blank). Why? Check the component’s parent part. If it has demands, but the component’s IPAP screen is blank, chances are the parent part’s Recipe or Product structure screen has an entry in the Structure Lot size tab pointing to an alternate (which is not *) where this component is not included. If you remove this entry from Structure Lot size for the parent, MRP will plan the component correctly. Other option is to make the component part of the non-* alternate of the parent (if was supposed to be there in the first place).
Hi, we are using apps 10 and would like to know if there is a way to block the reserving and issuing of material from either a specific location, location group or warehouse but still be able to receive parts to those location?couldn't see any check boxes on the Warehouse navigator or inventory locations. The reason for this requirement is we are looking into the shop floor employees issuing there own liquid raw material (paint) after processing a shop order but when using the ‘Manual Issue’ option on the work bench is allows the operator to issue material from all locations including the paint stores which we are trying to stop.regardsJamie
Hi, We’re running IFS10 and want to make sure that material for a specific Work Center is reserved from a production line. This works fine for us if we don’t connect the material line to an operation. As soon as we connect it to an operation the reservation is unsuccessful. RMB on the row and selecting “Reserve” leads to below information message and the row is not reserved, notice that the row is connected to Operation 10. If we remove Operation 10 from the row and selectes RMB “Reserve” again the row is successfully reserved. In the Operations tab operation 10 has been setup. The Production Line has been setup with the produced part and the component we’re trying to reserve. And the Work Center has been setup using the production line. Are we missing anything, or is it not possible to reserve material from production lines if the material is connected to an operation number?
Hi!I user IFS 8. Now I can not edit field phase out date in BOM. Why and how can I solve it?
Hi, we have a need to add in manufacture part number for the inventory part in stock record. That field comes from the dme_ext_lot_batch_master_tab. We have many inventory part in stock records however that do not have a record in the dme_ext_lot_batch_master_tab so I am update that field. I have not been able to find out yet what causes a record to be inserted into that table. We have old and new inventory parts that get added with and without that table being inserted into. Does anyone have any insight into this table? THANK YOU!!
IFS App 9I have a customer that manufacture parts reported by receiving reels, x pcs per reel.Sometimes the quality in the reel is not 100% approved and the customer want to rewind two reels into one. Test Case : The part has order based lot tracking, many lots allowed, not multi-tracked1 reel in stock, batch A, 1000 pcs but 400 are non-conforming1 reel in stock, batch B, 1100 pcs but 600 are non-conformingCreate a repair shop order, Lot Size 2100 Issue material, complete qty from both lot A & B Now I want to scrap 400 from lot A and 600 from lot B but I cannot define lot no for scraped parts, what is the problem? When select Component Scrap, no lines are populated in the lower part of the form, why not?
we are getting following error and shop order is not getting reserved. any cluesSteps :RMB (in header)> Material Actions> Reserve(reserve window pop-up) Create Pick List box is checked (new window-shop order pick list options) Pick list per: Location Group Print Pick List checked OK Following Error appear Shop order is not ‘Reserved’ no picklistIFS10-UPD9, first product structure in IFS10 but we have several Shop Orders processed successfully in IFS10.verified stocks for both material and master part. Master part is in ‘Buildable’ status
Hello IFS community,I’m having an issue when I trigger an auto-email event where a custom attribute is referenced which (in this case) a Part Number called CF$_PART_NOThe field is a Persistent > Reference (Restricted) > Reference belowUpon creation of new object I would like to call upon the Part_No chosen in the email.I use the substitution field &NEW:CF$_PART_NOHowever in the generated email I get the db value AAAVZCAAMAAACXrAAHMy assumption is that there is an API that will convert that value from the db to it’s key, but when I try to do INVENTORY_PART_API.get_key_by_rowkey(&NEW:CF$_PART_NO) I get this error message in the Custom Event screen:Then the event doesn’t trigger unless this is resolved. I feel like this is the right method, but perhaps I’m missing a key ingredient? Thanks for whoever helps!IFS9 btw
Why is there no as-built structure after a Production Schedule Receipt? It is clearly stated in the documentation, but why? The assistant includes steps to edit the structure and move serials and batches between parents. What for, if not for the as-built structure?
I’m trying to understand what this field is for. No help details and can’t be populated manually. Below is screen shot from Apps10 but the issue was raised from a client in Apps 8 I wonder, is it linked to Order Gap on the Invent Part/Manf Tab Located on the following area
There is a case - lets say I have one production slot, limited by area. Some products operations occupies only 1/3 part of it, other 1/2 and others occupie whole production slot. I want to use CRP to see overloads. How can I reflect that in IFS?I know that there's no perfect solution but what ideas I had was:1 - Reflect production slots parts as a Work Centers and in routings create one or two or three parallel operations occuping different Work Centers2 - Reflect production slots parts as a Work Centers Resources and in routings create one or two or three parallel operations occuping same Work Center, and then assign prefered resource on Shop Order Operations level. Both solutions would require complicated SO's operations reporting (Client uses Shop Floor Workbench).I'm laso aware about other impact. What I would like to have is best solution for that case. All advice will be appreciate.
Hi,we migrate our old jobs from an old UC4 installation into IFS. Most of them are simple databasejobs anyway, or to be precise, they call a batchfile which call a procedure in IFS. So that is a pretty easy and straightforward task so far, and we are happy it works in IFS10 that easy. Now I found a more complex problem. The user has a contextmenu entry, in our own tbwWindows, which starts a UC4 Job Queue asyncronously out of a PLSQL procedure. UC4 knows to queue the calls, so there was no need to think about concurrent jobs running, and the Jobs delete temporary tables while they run.My questions are When I use transaction_sys.deferred_call, can use use the task queue or do I have to make a simple task and create a procedure calling the procedures in batch? Is IFS smart enough, to not start the same job (queue) parallel? Concurrent access to the tables will be a problem for various reasons. If you have some documentation about it that I don´t have, it would be great if you could share i
in a custom menu that we have designed there is a weird ORA-20110 error coming which says “NO VERSION FOR xxxxx.xxxxx PART”. it only appears in polish version of ifs. Can someone suggest how to fix it ?
When I try to add any hidden column to visible column it wont show in the visible column in the column chooser(Project Transaction window). can anyone help?
Is anyone familiar with the Work Center Setup Matrix? Does this functionality interact with routings or operations on a shop order? I setup a characteristic code and values, I was able to create the setup matrix, but I don’t know what this will actually do. Please help.
A Shop Order is created for 10 pcs for top part A which needs 10 pcs of part B as a component. Part A is set with component Lot Rule as one lot allowed.Currently the part B is in stock in two lot batches. a. Lot 1 – 6 pcs b. Lot 2 – 5 pcs Quantity required of Component Part B is 10 pcs, quantity available is 11 pcs but it cannot be used due to the component lot rules; no Single lot batch is available to fulfil the full qty of 10 pcs. System will give the below error if tried to reserve manually. But MRP will not create any supply requisitions in this situation MRP consider only the quantity! but what is on hand cannot be fulfil the requirement - Error! Suggestion:-Introduce MRP Action Message/s to notify similar situations by highlighting the non availability of single lot batch no. to fulfil demand.
I have a user requesting that we make it so that there can’t be duplicate serial numbers in IFS where there are different part numbers. As far as I can tell, this seems to be a feature of IFS. Is my thinking on this correct? We have a few cases with duplicate serial numbers but different part numbers associated with each.
