I do a lot of forecasting using S&OP. I want to predict my future material requirements in MRP based on the MS set 2 forecasts. How do I do that?
Recently, a customer asked how required quantity is calculated when using a scrap factor (%). Here's the scenario:You have two components in the shop order (lot size = 1), but UOM in YK-S-P1 is PCS and in YK-S-P2 it is pcs (decimal allowed, qty calc = 2). The problem customer had, why the required qty is not calculated as: (qty per assembly * scrap factor + qty per assembly)According to that, for the second part required qty = 1 × 0.1 + 1 = 1.1. He asked why it was 1.1112?The calculation here is done according to the equation: lot size/ (1-scrap factor)So, for the first part: 1/ (1-0.1) = 1.1112 but the qty UOM here is PCS(decimals not allowed). Therefore, required qty = 2.For the second part, the same calculation, since the decimals are allowed, qty required = 1.1112.What is this equation lot size/ (1-scrap factor) and from where does it come from? There are 2 ways you can derive this equation:Using Proportional Inverse Relationship Using Recursive Loss / Geometric Series (found this t
Community, Got this error, see below screenshot for MRP run. does it mean the PR generated by the system over the system allowable limit? i.e. 9999? How to fix this error? Thank you.
We would like a way to reverse “Database Saves” that have been committed via the Advanced Planning Board. There appears two ways to save a schedule locally using the APB; by using “File Save…” and “Save Workspace”.What is the difference between saving a file and saving a workspace [in the APB] locally to my machine? It appears that the only way to load a [previously saved] file/workspace is to set the APB’s Application Run Mode to “Simulation Mode”. However, once this file is loaded in, we are unable to perform a “Database Save” because we are in simulation mode. And when you switch back to “Scheduler Mode” any data loaded in is cleared out. Because of this we are unable to commit any previously saved/loaded in files/workspaces back to IFS via a “Database Save”. Is there a way to save previously stored schedules (either file or workspace) back to the database? If so, how can this be done considering the behavior of the Application Run Mode? Our main goal is to save the “old” schedule lo
I have a serialized assembly that has lot controlled components. The as built structure for the assembly of the serialized assembly shows the lot batch numbers of the of the components I used to assemble the serialized parts.I now open a repair shop order and flag it as multi level. I then issue the serialized assembly and the multilevel repair structure shows the lot batches of the components from the item’s original construction. All is well so far. One of the components needs to be replaced and the original component is scrapped. SO I do a remove and go ro do an add. Questions:Why does the system automatically create a salvage part that I must now receive even though that component is just going to b=the scrap heap? I can understand if it were a salvage or a replacement and I intend to use that partially used component elsewhere but why a salvage part if I am NOT salvaging it? How do I just remove it an add a new one? As I said earlier, the component is lot controlled and we
We are currently upgrading from Apps10 to Cloud and we use Estimate in Apps10.Looking at Estimate in Cloud - we can’t find the Estimate tree level view. We use this view to move items in and out of structures in the same estimate.Where is the overall tree view? Does it still exist in Cloud?Estimate Tree View in Apps10Same Estimate in Cloud - only list and card view
Posting control in IFS Cloud refers to the process of translating business events into financial transactions. This system ensures that many financial postings are created automatically, using predefined posting types and control types configured under IFS/Accounting Rules. In manufacturing, numerous system events like OOREC, OPFEED, and SODIFF+ are commonly used. These are linked to financial outcomes through the appropriate combination of posting types and control types. In addition to basic control types, combination control types are used to further refine posting logic by including multiple control factors, such as Accounting Group, Asset Class etc.I've included a document with detailed information on business events, posting types, and control types that can help others better understand how financial postings work in IFS Cloud.
Hello! We are looking to create a new 24/7 Work Time Calendar and use it as the Manufacturing Calendar at the Site level. We are curious what other areas of IFS the Site level manufacturing calendar has an impact on. We just want to understand any and all implications of changing that calendar before we change it in our PROD environment. Thanks.
Is there a way or method to record the number of hours an operator worked in a production floor environment that was not actually clocked in to shop order.
Hello,I am trying to enable automatic reservation and backflush upon shop order receipt (operation approval) in Shop Floor Workbench (IFS APPS 10 UPD 23).The product structure is set up to automatically reserve and backflush from a specific location and connected operation. Everything was working fine until I enabled lot tracking, and now it’s returning the error message: “There are not enough reservations for the tracked part. It must be reserved before it is issued, as the parent part is multilevel tracked.” I know I can get around this by right-clicking the material line and selecting “Reserve”, but I don’t want the operators to have to do that. This process occurs in the middle of a production line, so they’d have to Reserve upon each receipt, as not all of the material would be available at the start of the Shop Order. I’d like the system to automatically calculate, reserve, and backflush the exact quantity of material required upon each partial receipt/op approval. Is this possib
Hello, I am using IFS Cloud 24R1 and we use SFWB to generate QA analysis from a manufacturing Control Plan. It appears that the new way to enter results is through a guided workflow that steps through each check and provides a pass/fail after clicking the checkbox. While this is beneficial, we are seeing that it can add a significant amount of time if you have a Control Plan that has 30+ checks. The table view in IEE made it easier to enter results quickly. Are there any other ways to modify the process for entering an analysis results to streamline the process? On average, we do 2,000+ analysis per week, so any method to increase the ability to enter results quickly would be beneficial. Thank you!
24.2.0What determines the Batch Size by Weight for the default Recipe Alternate ‘*’? I am seeing behavior I cannot troubleshoot. My Company is setup to use lb as its Weight Unit of Measure (this should not be a factor, though).I have a user-defined unit of measure as below. 1 short ton = 907.18474 kg.My Part uses this unit of measure as below. My Site is set to default enter recipe by Weight Share. My inventory part is a Recipe part that uses this unit of measure. In the Recipe Structure, the alternate ‘*’ that is created when the Inventory Part is saved as a Recipe part shows the Batch Size by Weight = 0.001 ton short. What does this 0.001 value indicate? Why is this not a 1, i.e. the batch size to start is 1 ton short. When I try to add components it fails with the cryptic message ‘numeric or value error: character string buffer too small’, so it is not possible to even create a components list to allow adjusting the recipe.
Hi all,I am quite new to IFS Cloud 24R2 and I would like to ask if it is possible to add CF to Routings - OPERATIONS. When i run “Page designer” i can see the name of the entity: RoutingOperation.Am i right??? But I am not able to find this entity in “Entity Configuration”. The only entity simmilar is RoutingOperationList and it says: “This Entity cannot have Custom Attributes”. Is it really impossible to add CF to “Routing” - “OPERATIONS”??ThanksJan
Hello,I am encountering an issue when attempting to prepare the transfer of a template structure to Manufacturing (from the "Manage Template" page). The procedure is executed through background jobs, but I receive the following error:"Part already exists as a master part and is not a position part. To resolve the issue, you need to either remove the existing master part or change the catalog number in the template structure, and then perform a retransfer.ORA-20110: PositionPartReference.PARTALREADYEXIST."For some structures, I was able to resolve the problem after noticing that the part already existed as an Inventory Part. Since the transfer process is supposed to create Inventory Parts, the pre-existing ones were blocking the transfer.By deleting the stored Inventory Parts linked to the structure, I was able to successfully prepare and complete the transfer to Manufacturing. However, this method does not work for some of my other structures.Has anyone encountered this issue before or
Is there a way to reuse a serial number for a part? For instance, a part serial record was created from a shop order and received as Part 1000 with a Serial No of 200200. The serialized part was then delivered to a customer. The serialized part was later returned from the customer and disassembled. The physical unit no longer exists but the part serial record does. A new shop order is created and we want to receive the finished good as Part 1000 and Serial No of 200200. But we can’t because that part serial already exists. So what I’m asking is, is there a way to have two part serial records with the same part number and serial number? I know those fields have to be unique but I wasn’t if you had any suggestions on how to make this possible. Thanks!
Hi Community,I was trying to approve a FMEA and getting the error below:Anybody knows how to fix this and get the FMEA approved? I was unable to find an option to update or calculate the Max Risk Priority Number.
Community,We are settting up production routing for BPP plates production. the standard batch is 100 PCS. there are 2 work centers. Full batch of 100 PCS of plates will not be moved to the second work station till the full batch is completed. We have the routing set up, but it looks to us that the full batch is through WC one plate by one plate in sequential order . We would like system to calculate the lead time of the whole batch for the first work center, then the whole batch move to the second WC. How we could make it happen in IFS? Thank you.
Hello everyone,This is an urgent matter, as our project is approaching a go-live date.I'm facing an issue in the Workflow Configuration where I'm trying to use a Service filter to make an eForm appear only for a specific request, triggered when clicking Start Work. However, I noticed that the Service filter is being ignored, and the eForm appears for all requests, regardless of the Service selected.Test ScenariosScenario 1: I configured the eForm to appear only for requests with Service ID = 3. I created two requests: one with Service ID = 3, and another with Service ID = 21, both using the same Customer. After transferring both requests to the mobile application (MWO Service), the eForm appeared for both requests, even though only one matched the configured filter. Scenario 2: I modified the configuration to show the eForm for Service ID = 3 and a specific Customer. I created two requests with Service ID = 21 (different from the filter): One with the Customer matching the
Greetings!I was performing a Interim Demand Header evaluation and an error came up. Does anyone know what this means and how to fix it? This is run on IFS Apps 10
Hi Team, Is the standard functionality available to use the Shop Floor Workbench through Bar code scanner. For example, starting the clocking or stopping the clocking using Bar code.
Hi new in 24r1 SU4When approving/receiving a Shop Order where we receive more than the planned lot size, we get this "error."The material lines look like this: For the inventory part:This worked in 22r2. What am I missing?
We’re trying to support a business process in which a Product is delivered to a customer, but if there’s a problem with it, under some circumstances the Product will be replaced with a new one, and the original will be returned, remanufactured and at some future point resold to a different customer. However we can’t create Shop Orders or Shop Order requisitions as when we try to specify the Order or Requisition type as Remanufacturing the system generates an error message telling us there is no Product Structure Header for the Product as a Remanufactured Part.I can go to the Inventory Part and change the Part Type to Remanufactured but the original Manufacturing Product Structure is still valid.I can go into the Product Structure itself and create a new Alternate but that is still for Manufacturing I can create a New Part Revision and try to use that to create a new Product Structure to remanufacture the part giving it the same Phase In and Out dates as the original, but that then makes
24.2.1On the first receipt (i.e., partial) of a FIFO shop order where the operations are using a Fixed Resource Share and are being reported through auto reporting, I cannot determine how the Machine Cost is calculated.Setup:Manufactured part = FG1, valuation method = FIFO. Routing op 10, WC A, 1 unit/hour, fixed resource share = 0.3. Routing op 20, WC B, 1 unit/hour, fixed resource share = 0.3. Work Center A, cost = 30.00/hour, no overheads Work Center B, cost = 20.00/hour, no overheads FG1 product structure consists of only one component (COMP1, valuation = FIFO), QPA = 1, Estimated Material Cost = 1.00, Cost Set 1 = 1.00. Nothing on the Produced Parts tab. FG1 Cost Set 1 = 16.00, template M-110 with only standard buckets. Zero on-hand inventory of FG1.Execution:Shop Order lot size = 5. This is the only shop order in the system for FG1. Receive (1), backflushing and auto report operations. OOREC transaction for 44.00 shows Cost Buckets: 110 = 1.00 300 = 43.00 Where did this 43.00 co
When IFS Applications 10 users use the IFS Enterprise Explorer link in Chrome,If the extension is not available, 'ifs.Fnd.Explorer.application' is downloaded. Is this just to bring up the IFS login screen?Does it work for other functions as well?
We’re working with a client in the Medical Equipment Industry who need Quality Management in their solution. However with Control Plans, this requires us to define in the Acceptance Sampling Parameters which ISO Standards are to be used. There are 3 predefined as values within the system:ISO 2859-3:2005, ISO 2859-1:1999, ISO 3951-2:2013However the client insists that they also use ISO 13485:2016, but we can find no way of including this can anyone suggest a way in which we can get this added?
