FSM6 Training for Technical Administrator

Hi, About the training path for FSM Developer, we have training for : Mobile development, Integration, but do we have trainings for technical administrator ?FSM6 can be installed on saas or on premise, if you make a on premise installation you can have some tasks for installing the software. In the training path for partners do we have some courses/documentation about all this required tasks ? Could you explain how partners could be upskill and expand capabilities on this area of installation ? Thanks & Regards

FSM 6 - Mapped Import with Descriptions vs. Code Values

Hi all, in FSM 6.5 Has anyone figured out how to create Import Maps for (Global/Metrix) Code Table controlled fields, where the user can import the description vs. the code_value? We are facing constant issues with users either not understanding that Code Values are needed, or simply not having access to the specific Code Values. We’ve previously compensated by creating Excel Import map templates, with dropdowns, but keeping those up-to-date with all the global code table values & descriptions is a large effort. Appreciate allfeedback -Rudy

Hi I am looking to have a button on a listview tab that will update one of the fields on a selected line of a List view. is it possible to control a Listview items using a Button and a client script? and if not a client script any other way? if so can you explain how i might go about do so?

I am looking to create a value business rule that populates a day that is 30 days after the created_dttm in FSM. i looked at the cheatsheet but was unable to figure out what expression is required. I tried to do DATEADD but that didn’t work.New to using expressions so any help is appreciatedthanks!

How to automate the process of assiging a technician for a repair task on the basis of his skills and time availability.

Requirement is assigning technician for a task in FSM on the basis of match between his skill and product skill and availability of technician. Process has to be automated. As soon as task gets generated , technician supposed to be assigned. We don't have PSO. Process needs to be achieved from repair board, or within FSM

FSM: How do i set default values in screen TIMESEARCH

In FSM TIMESEARCH screen, I would like to set a default value of the logged in user to the search field NON_PART_USAGE.MANAGER_PERSON_ID. I have created a client script to do the job thats uses the SetControlValue function, but the value is not set on the screen. FSM 5.7: Custom table and Message Translation

I have Create a Custom Table that will be receiving data from an External System.in the Table has 3 columns (task_id, field, Value) for the field it will have a value like “Person_Email” This table will be added to the task Screen as a new tab as a list viewI don’t want to display the column “field” but would like to display a description instead “Person Email”. I was hoping that i could use the message translation to manage this as there maybe a future requirement to have these discriptions displayed in the users languge instead of one fixed value. If the message translation is not the right place then i dont mind creating another table to manage the Field Value, language and Description as long as i can display the Description as a field.Does anyone have a suggestion on how this might be possible? Post & Print batch shipments

in FSM,Does anyone have a process in place to post multiple shipments at once?We have a quarterly program where we ship out over 700 orders or maintenance kits to our customers. Right now we have to post and print each shipment 1 by 1. its tedious. We talked about running a perform batch shipment XML but it froze up the system. open to any suggestions people may have on this.

[ FSM Mobile] Hiding line codes in time repotting

on FSM 5.7 it shows all the users entered line codes. however only some of them apply to labour while the others do not. What would be the best way to hide specific ones from the mobile time reporting screen

FSM - Change Product on Completed Request

Is is possible to switch the product on a request / Task after it is completed (with part usage, non part usage done)? When we attempt to do so, we cant remove the old product from the request. The error states that it cannot be moved since it is tied to part need, usage & NPU. The way around is it we update all those values with the new request unit ID via SQL DB Query. Is there a more user appropriate way for people to do this day to day vs manipulating the database -

Is there a currency conversion process in FSM?

All of our prices are in CAD since we are Canadian company. If we have to bill a customer who’s bill to is listed as USD, then the pricing rules will not take effect due to the pricing rules listing only CAD. If we put the converted rate as USD, that will quickly go out of date with how quickly rates change.My question is: Does FSM have a way to convert it based on current exchange rate? or must it be set by whichever price is in the pricing rule?

Stock Count Module on Mobile

On FSM Mobile there is the “Stock Count” option on the menu.when opening it, it is a blank screen that will display a stock countwe know that the stock count is created and set up on the FSM Desktop client. What requirements are needed for the stock count to show up on that users mobile device?Once it shows up will they be able to perform the stock on their mobile device?

FSM Mobile - Attachments downloading to other users

We are having some users experience an issue where FSM is syncing photos from other users to their phone.One case had a user receive over 300 photos. There are no connections to either of these technicians from a person record or task (which is where the attachments are attached to)this has happened to 3 users, that we know of. Has this type of error been reported before?

FSM - Item Styles Colour Code on List Views

Item Style Knowledge Article Hi, Looking through the above knowledge articles and came across this one. This is something we have been looking at, and I thought I would create this topic to see if this is possible. Is it possible to get Item Styles into a list view on a custom screen? I wanted to do something simple like make a Request Priority 1 stand out. We can do this and it displays ok on the request screen. However when we look at the same request on a custom list view the Priority value appears with no styling. The custom screen is based of the primary table Table with a child relationship to Task, then an item path to a view of the Request table. We have tried to apply the Item Style ID against the field in the properties, but that doesn’t appear to work either. Cheers Ady

FSM Perform DataRow Not Working

I’ve been trying to manually trigger the <perform_send_notification> perform method via XML but the data record doesn’t attach itself to the message. Here is the XML I’m running: <perform_send_notification> <parameters> <dataRow> <request> <request_id>1234567</request_id> <request> </dataRow> <distr_list_id>PART_ORDERS</distr_list_id> <message_name>ICN</message_name> </parameters> </perform_send_notification> I run this in the XML Poster and the email is sent, but it’s missing the Request information that I’m trying to pass to it. I’ve also tried substituting a hierarchy_select statement within the dataRow parameter, but that also didn’t work correctly. Can anyone provide some guidance on the proper syntax to fill into the dataRow parameter in order to connect the data to the message?
