Field Service Management (FSM) & Planning and Scheduling Optimization (PSO)

Has anyone here developed iOS apps that support zoom function or larger text sizes? When I increase the text size on the FSM Mobile iOS app, then I cannot scroll down to the bottom text field (task_text.text). Any suggestions? Thanks!

Good day. i’m new to IFSi’m looking for a list of variables that are available programmatically.also known as substitution variables.Examples of variables i know work#USER_ID##DEFAULT_COMPANY# Any help will be greatly appreciated. 

In the Escalation Hierarchy we have the option of creating the escalation towards Supervisor / Manager in Person Record.And then start considering the positions mentioned in the hierarchy.I have added the Manager Sequence as well to make sure that escalation is created towards Manager first and only on Supervisors approval that escalation should be going towards any other person in hierarchy. However this is not happening and creating the escalation directly to the position, could you please confirm what setup is going wrong? Note: The escalation is not for approvals but process escalations.  

(FSM6u8)Looking for a way to generate Part Usage lines off the Part Needs generated from an ADVR/SO RMA line. Was expecting the “Allow Invoice” setting on the Return Process would generate the Usage, but it doesn’t.

Do anyone know if the Map view on FSM can be extended to show not just one day but e.g. a week

Hi Experts, In the FSM schedule board screen "Person Calendar Exception" lookup is showing the Exception Type. But does not show the Exception Type Description.It is not possible to adjust the screen 'Person Calendar Exception' as it is not available in the UI designer.Background is to change the visualization of the Exception type -> not only to display the code value but to show the description. As I have checked its showing "PERSONCALEXCEPTADD" screen but that screen is only showing exception ID. Attachment 01: scheduled board screen "Person Calendar Exception" lookup Attachment 02: UI Design of "PERSONCALEXCEPTADD"  So, my question is this the correct screen to do this change and is there a way that we can change this dropdown values to show description instead of code table value? ThanksMinindu

During Package Deployment in FSM will the changes be there once the corresponding package is deleted?In Package deployment process the package has changed to status = ‘APPLY COMPLETE”.  If i delete the package the corresponding component deployed in the package will get deleted or not?Need your support…. 

Hi,This question is specifically about menu icons in web client and it was raised by a customer who is upgrading from FSM 5.7 to 6.10.As you may have noticed, default menu icons for screen functions in web client are different from smart client.web clientsmart clientIs there a way to make them the same as smart client?When rolling out web client, the customer wants to retain the same look and feel they are familiar with for years.Thanks! - Nuwan

What is the expected release date for FSM 6 update 12?

In FSM Mobile,is it possible to see in  Part Used / Miscellaneous part the Part with the checkbox Part_adjust_stock not flag. In the backend, when we are in the request, we can choose a part with part_adjust_stock to NO in a line and have this part installed as a product. How can we do the same action with FSM mobile ?Do I need to modify sync rules ?Thanks for your feedbackregards

Hi Guys,I am new to this FSM tool. Can you please tell me how to create new report for internal users. Nobody knows in my team about new report creation. I don’t want to create adhoc report. I want to create report like other standard report where I can use filters, company logos, functions, header, footers etc. Please tell me step by step. It would be also great if you can tell me if I need to set up before report development in FSM.I am currently using FSM, Release: 6  Regards,Saras 

We have a load balanced setup of the FSM, running on 3 servers. Whenever we do any changes (for example :- adding a new value to the Global codes or adding new rows to some custom tables), we do a refresh cache (Full). We have observed that when all the Mobile users initializes their devices, only some of them receives the new changes.  So they have to initialize multiple times to get the new updates. Questions : 1) I believe it is necessary to do a refresh cache (Full) on all the 3 servers? Does that mean that we download 3 client on 3 machine connecting to 3 different servers and then press Refresh cache individually? 2) Can the refresh cache be triggered through an XML so that we can use the Metrix integration service and post the XML to 3 different servers using SOAPUI or other tools? 3) Does the cache also holds the contents of tables as well? So when the server prepares the mobile sqllite DB does it always query the backend DB tables for data or it uses the cache?  

How do we use FSM 6 OData Rest APIs to call a perform like perform_upload_report which requires an attachment? Is this even possible?     

Has anybody got any experience of using Apache JMeter for load/stress testing web applications ?I’m trying to use JMeter to test FSM but having some issues around authorization.If anyone has any experience of using this tool I’d like to hear how they have got it working if possible.

Hi Team,A deeplink can be used on FSM Mobile app while performing a service by clicking on hyperlink or a button to open a Web Browser or another App on technician’s phone.My question would be: can we user a deeplink from another app (Example: Sofield - service app) to open FSM Mobile app on technician’s phone and redirect to the current task you were working on Sofield?Thanks, Michel

Our customer occasionally gets this message when trying to log into FSM. “A113: All application sessions are currently in use or they have exceeded their usage limit. Contact your system administrator for assistance”.One way to clear this error message is by deleting some rows from the MX_T table.  What is causing this error message? and is there a way for the Customer to clear this themselves?  Many thanks in advance. 

In FSM,  when I add an email address with an apostrophe to the email field of a distribution list the box has a red border signifying it is an invalid email address. How can I include an email address that includes an apostrophe?Eg, Sarah,O’Brien@gmail,com  

We are on FSM 6U4 and had already configured SSO authentication - using ADFS - for the FSM Client (fat client) and it’s working as expecting. Next we would like to configure FSM Mobile to use SSO. Is this possible and if yes, what do I need to do to make this happen ? Is there any technical documentation beside the OIDC Implementation that discuss this topic in details. Thank you.

I am interested to know the plans for FSM in terms of inventory management.  I was on a call with Steven Jeffs-Watts and Sarah Nicastro this morning and was excited to hear about the direction FSM is moving with IFS Cloud.  in my opinion one of the areas FSM is a bit weak is related to its ability to move inventory easily and effectively from a warehouse place whether it be a building or a van on to a task and then if not used move back to potentially a different warehouse.  It is even harder if that material is drop shipped to the customer. I’d like to see a request treated like a temporary stocking location where PO can be issued for material directly to the request with any tech on any task able to indicate that is was actually used or was not used and easily moved to their stocking place (their van). Any comments on how inventory might be handled in the future? 

Hi,We have a Report which can be filtered according to the Task Statuses. After configuring a Notification Message to trigger the Report everyday via email. Hello All, We try to recover data from FSM6 using ODATA API REST in order to put the data into our Warehouse.Given the volume we need to do this on an incremental bases every night. We have a problem when trying to recover more than 10000 lines having erreur messages. When we use the “SKIP” function to split the API calls up we are limited to a maxium of 1000 lines.Have you encountered this problem and how have you treated data recovery from FSM ? Best regardsJan Dirk

I have encoded the binary file with base64 but I cannot seem to upload the fileURL - http://fsmURL//odata/attachmentparameter - {   "attachment@odata.mediaEditLink":"encoded the binary file with base64",   "attachment_name":"testtwo.jpg",   "file_type":"image/jpeg"}refer the attach image for the output.is it possible to attach encoded the binary file with base64 in FSM using the above mentioned API? 

Hi,For a part, if I want to define different prices that are used after for quotes done on the field :Standard price Customer price , DiscountWhat I need to do in FSM ?  On the part transaction, I can define one price for the part, but for specific prices by customer :What transaction could I use to set prices ?  What transaction could I use to set discount ?Do i have to define business rule to apply the customer price instead the standard price ?Then all these prices should be available/displayed in FSM mobile for the technician.Thanks and Regards
