Is it possible to do a full-text search to find documents stored in the Document Management application in IFS?

Hi, I understand Apps 10 UPD6 and above is supported to run on Oracle 19c (19.3). Does anyone know if Apps 10 UPD7 is supported on Oracle 19.7, the latest Oracle 19 DB patch bundle for Windows? This is available as Oracle Patch ID - 30901317. TIA, Srikanth

I just discovered that on May 26th customer invoices quit creating a pdf archive file.  It appears that other reports such as delivery report, purchase orders etc are still being created.  These pdf files are needed by the report rule process to automatically email invoices to customers.  I cannot figure out why they are not being created.  Can anyone suggest what might be causing the problem.  It is not a user specific problem.  Same person can create a PO arrival pdf archive report.  From the report archive if you RMB on an invoice Show PDF is greyed out. I am using Apps 9 and am creating a permissions set for people to be able to report shop order operations. The permission set currently allows the user to go to the “Report Shop Order Operation” screen (Manufacturing → Shop Order → Report Operation → Report Shop Order Operation) and do everything they need to do, but for some reason the RMB menu option for “Report Operations...” is not enabled in the “Shop Order” screen (Manufacturing → Shop Order → Order → Shop Order).   What permissions do I need to enable to enable this RMB option? Is there a good way in general of identifying which permissions need to be set to enable RMB menus?

Hello, has anyone imported customer payments using a standard ACH file from the bank (ACH file is a fixed width (94 characters) ASCII file).  It looks like there are standard external file templates in IFS.  Just wondering if anyone has already done this and what is the set-up to do so?  There are several template available, but not sure if we would need to create our own or not.  Thanks!

Hi all, I am seeing an error message when using an Event Action to generate an Application Message output in IFS 10. When I try to carry out the action that triggers the event (i.e. changing the status of a Shop Order), I get the error shown below (“Element denoted by path [$EVENT_RECORD$] not found”). If I disable the Event Action, I can change the Shop Order successfully. Any ideas? The Event process is set up as follows: 1. Create an Event with ID SHOP_ORDER_STATUS_CHANGE: 2. Create Event Action of type Application Message: 3. Create a Routing Rule linked to SHOP_ORDER_STATUS_CHANGE: Am I missing anything? Many thanks, Ged.

Is there any way to force a screen refresh after displaying an error message. Currently user has to OK the error, then click refresh and then click no to not save. Error_SYS.Appl_General('INFO',message_);  Thanks,

Hello,  I have custom menus created in Aurena with method calls from custom packages. When logged in as App Owner, these menus work.  But when logged as a different user, the following error is given. The package is granted the correct access. The projection and the actions are granted access to the permission set the user belong to as well.  ErrorMenu DefinitionHas anyone seen this?

Does IFS allow html based email from when handling pdf_report_created event? We are required to include logo in the signature.

I have SQL that using multiple views, I therefore created an IAL using the SQL and deployed it.     The IAL appears in the IAL Configuration, however, I am unable to access the IAL within the Data Source Designer OR using Quick Reporter.   Can anyone advise what I am missing?    

Hi all, We are running PL/SQL Developer on our Windows clients with Oracle Instant Client. When doing so, the packages cannot handle Nordic characters (æøå). I think I have identified the problem as the NLS_LANG value in registry.  I have an old installation that is working. It looks like this:   On Instant Client theses entries does not exists (default is AMERICAN_AMERICAN.US7ASCII). SELECT distinct client_charset FROM v$session_connect_info WHERE sid = sys_context('USERENV','SID'); Anyone know an easy way to change NLS_LANG?  

We currently have the IFS8 version where reports are generated through Crystal Report 2011. My question is whether IFS has a native solution to generate Data Matrix and if not, what better application for acquisition and integration with Crystal Report 2011?   Thank you

When using a custom layout of fields (in particular on a Custom Page), is it possible to control the layout (location and field size) in any way either via database or importable/exportable XML code in any way? Having to line up a lot of fields with the little arrow buttons is pretty time consuming to get fields to all line up and space evenly. I’m hoping there’s a way I can just input pixel values for size and location somehow?

Sometimes we have noticed performance drawbacks due to the value set for the "job queue processes” parameter in the oracle database. What is the correct formula for the set this value correctly and what are the things that need to consider?  

Hello,  I am trying to add 2 custom check boxes to the Project entity (ProjectDefinitionHandling) in Aurena. I am able to add the check boxes. They are both editable and not required. I can press edit and change the value on the check boxes, but when I press save, the change is reverted to the original value.  I tested with adding a new custom field to the project entity and typing a value in. The custom field blanked out when I save the form.  Any thoughts? How is everyone adding custom fields to the project entity in Aurena?

Is there a way in a custom menu to allow a user to be prompted to type in a value that I can subsequently use in the SQL code?

We use permissions sets to specify whether users have none, query or full access to screens, but if for example 10 users in a permission set have full access to a screen, whats the easiest way to only allow 1 of them to update a specific field on that screen?   Thanks, Chris.

Hi, Can someone shed some light about how to get the server resources downloaded for locally installed Touch apps server (for Demo purposes)? In apps 9 there was an option in the customer portal page to check the “Cloud connection status” and if the system is registered most recent resources could be downloaded  but seems that’s no longer available for Apps10. Hi   Wondering, we have a field available to us on screen for ‘Supplier Name’ - but when I look in the search box to configure so users can search by name its not available. Is there anything I can do to make this field searchable?? Is there perhaps an SQL expression I can use that will put the sort by name into order?

It is in response to a LoadInboxMessage process: XMLPARSE_NAME:View name mismatch: SCHEDULES != IN_MESSAGE_REQUEST at [2:1]  I have already submitted a question here about the source of the message but as EDI questions get very few responses, if any, I thought I’d see if anyone can decipher the error message instead, so I apologise for the duplicate posting. Dear fellow IFS users For our production, we created a lobby which shows the current work orders being done. This is displayed on a big TV. When the PC is turned on, this lobby should be opened automatically and displayed in full screen mode / kiosk mode, as it is only for display purposes and doesnt need any user interaction. Is there any possibility to automatically open IFS in full screen / kiosk mode? The PC has no mouse or keyboard connected so this should be automated as far as possible. I have created a custom event for a specific background job if it fails a stream message is sent to user to view the job. I also want user to transfer to background job details page to see the logs for the failures. Hi, I’m trying to send a GET request from IFS 9 with HTTP_SENDER1, and as expected I can’t because the endpoint don’t accept POST. Do you know if it is possible to create a new HTTP_SENDER that uses the GET method? It looks like there could be more than on option in the dropdown. BR KRESTEN  

Hi, I have send out an Application Message from IFS to an external API endpoint using a HTTP connector. I have reaced the endpoint succesfully. The endpoint returned me back a message and IFS is showing it to med in a .txt file. How can I access that response, and have is saved somewhere in the database? Any help is very appreciated. I am working in IFS 10 with rental inventory parts and was wondering if there way to create packages for Rental parts in the same fashion as the Sales parts? This is the ability to group / package a number of inventory parts together with a single selection (i.e. Sound System package with Soundboard, speakers, lights, etc.).
