ASystem: IFS Apps 8 (Currently)Hi, I'm new to the community and fairly new to IFS. I have a requirement within the business that on an agreed schedule it will automate a process in IFS, where an external SQL based system produces a file which can be automatically imported into IFS and used to generate new projects. e.g.Step 1@19:00 the External Systems produces an external text file: Pipe Delimited and columns encompassed in double quotes ("")Step 2@19:30 IFS imports the data into a temporary tablestep 3@ 19:45 a scheduled event activates andValidates the imported data in the temporary table

We’re getting this error when updating a custom field in Customer_Info_Cfv created/added at data migration.It’s a simple update with just the CustomerNo and the new custom field, MS Set.Any ideas what to correct?

HiNeed to understand in FSM whether or not possible to migrate the Historical data. I mean to say that Previous year all requests which are even closed /completed  along with its transactions from’ Request to Invoice’  can this be done.  As the customer wants to decommission the old systems and data to be ported back on to IFS FSM.Any inputs to this will be of great help.Thanks in advanceSatwik G S

Is it possible to delete records from WORK_SCHED_ASSIGN using Data Migration and WORK_SCHED_ASSIGN_API.Remove__   Can anyone please advise how this is done.

We are using the North American Migration toolkit for a data migration and some missing basic data get loaded automatically.  (For example Organization codes). We need to get the list of these records and does anyone know about a view or report which can be used to fetch this information ?(** Note that “Data Migration Applications\Reporting\Auto-loaded Basic Data\Auto-Loaded Detail” does not show anything and I’m not sure whether this is bug**)

Does anyone knowwhat needs to be granted for end user to be able to query the table created by migration load job, these tables are created with format IC_XXXX_TAB ? 

My data migration job keeps hanging when ran without CHECKOPTION. It eventually errors with the following message: Error occurred while calling  ../main/admin/plsqlgateway/AccessPlsql/Invoke?frmIntfaceStart. Please contact your system administrator. Error 502 - Bad Gateway   Has anyone come across this before and if so, could you please point me in the right directions.

Hi,I’ve used Excel Data Migration Tool before. But now I got this problem that when I try Validate or Execute, Excel-Add-In reads everything to the first column. I have a simple example with 2 columns A and B. But Excel-Add-In reads both column A and B to the first column. So the value for column A is getting to long and the value for column B is left empty.Is there some configuration for this. Thankful for ideas.BR,Patric 

Hi all, I received the below question from one of our APPS8 customers. They want to migrate closed PO's from their old ERP system into APPS8 (Customer recently aqcuisitioned new business).. My idea was to migrate the PO's with No Parts instead of Part lines, but I'd like to double check with the community!-------------------------------The question is if there is a way to migrate closed POs and what is the impact to postings. We will only go for a migration of No Part POs. If we are migrating POs with the status closed is there a posting connected to the status? Is this on kicking of the system functionality of posting a GRNI? If there is no posting linked to the status in the data migration, how is the matching of the invoice to the PO working? We will post an opening balance in IFS which is the closing balance of the old system. In this one we have the GRNI amount from the closed POs of the old system. So now we need to reduc

When trying to create migration job for method  Invent_Part_Quantity_Util_API.Move_Part and it’s not possible to save the job but you get error :Error making attribute and references - IntfaceMethodList.ILLARGTYPE:Arguement VALIDATE_HU_STRUCT_POSITION_ has illegal type. Only datatype DATE VARCHAR2 NUMBER allowed Same with Inventory_part_in_stock_API.Issue_Part_with_PostingReason seems to be that there are boolean arguments and this is not supported in data migration. Is there a way around this issue?

I am setting up a data migration project for a client running IFS 2004 migrating into Apps 10 UPD8. In the Apps 10 database I have created local VIEWs in a separate schema named IFS2004 using a database link to their IFS 2004 database. This makes it easy to use the FNDMIG input of using a VIEW/TABLE as the data source. Its fast and easy. Does anyone have any pre-built data migration (FNDMIG) jobs for customers, suppliers, etc. that you can export and share (PL/SQL format preferred please)? Your assistance will keep me from having to re-invent the wheel. Thank you for your help!

HI there,   Is there any way we can write back the key values to the Excel sheet once the record is inserted or updated in IFS. For Example: A Excel migration job is configured to create a new Work order with data from the excel. Can the newly created Work order number be returned back to excel sheet and displayed against the data line.   Thanks in Advance.   Siva Ganesh M

How to work with Excel Data Migration for the screens with multiple views(E.g. Master detail Tab Form Window)

When using the Excel Data Migration Add-in if any fields contain dates IFS brings them into Excel in the form DD/MM/YYYY HH:MI:SS. If you do nothing and try to Validate the row, the result column seems to insist that the field doesn’t contain anything (if mandatory).  If you click in the field and then out again Excel re-presents the field as YY/MM/YYYY HH:MI and right aligns it.  It then validates ok. Obviously if you have a lot of records you can’t click in every field to ensure the formatting corrects itself. Does anyone know how to solve this ?

I have created a custom logical unit / custom page to add to the Supplier screen as a custom tab.  Is there an easy way to use the data migration tool (DMT) to populate the underlying custom table?  I’ve seen instructions on setting up the DMT to handle custom fields on a standard IFS screen, but this situation is a little different, in my mind, because it isn’t and extension of a standard method.

We are a company at the start of our IFS implementation journey. Looking for templates for data migration of data across many different modules from our many different legacy systems. I’m aware of the Data Migration Tool to perform the migration, but looking for the templates, along with field help for the users populating the Excel sheet.  Does IFS offer something like this?
