Data Migration

Hello all, We are in the process of designing a simple interface via file. IFS should output a status (stock per type) to a file and save it to a specified location. Now this could be done relatively easy via a migration job. Does anyone already have experience with this or such a regular export via the migration job in use? The official suggestion for the interface is via the APIs. But this seems to be quite complex. Thank you already for your feedback. 

When I delete a service quotation, IFS10 takes 10 minutes to finish the process and unfreeze the screen. After taking a look in the debug console, I see the delete and subsequent commit finish in a very short amount of time (less than 2 seconds), but IFS then runs a SELECT * on the service quotation view to repopulate the screen. This query is taking 10 minutes because there is so much data.This is 100% pointless, the screen could just show as blank or bring back a single record instead of functioning this way. I also tried changing the startup behavior of the screen to blank, but it did not prevent this issue. Has anyone found a way to stop this from happening?

Hi,Has any one used Data Migration Manager in Cloud (22R2) to copy data (basic data as well as transactional data) from PROD to lower system such as TEST or PROD?For an example, we want to copy all basic dataset up and transactional data from PROD to TEST.Documentation says this is possible but couldnt find any step by step guide.Thank you.

I have the exact same Excel Migration Job over BUS_OBJ_REPRESENTATIVE in our DEV and TEST environments and they do not perform the same.   The migration job in DEV will perform a modification as expected and return the “Updated” result.The migration job in TEST will not perform the requested update and returns a result of “Business Object Representative already exists”.   of course it exits, I want to update the “Representative Type” associated with the record.We have check all permissions and have no idea what would be causing the difference in functionality.Any help is greatly appreciated. Sincerely,Vince

Hello, Is it possible to migrate PM action calendar plan without using the intervals ?My customer would like to put in the migration job precise dates, but the system refuses this forced migration and asks us to generate the work order from the header of the PM action.   

I am looking to create a migration job which reserves available material each morning for open material requisition lines. I have followed steps outlined here but could not make the jump from the Customer Order to the Material Requisition. Here is my current setup. Dear IFS Community,someone know how to import user companies with a migration job on IFS CLOUD ?I created migration jobs for users, user permsissons, user sites but no way to make a user companies import for 500 users.View name “COMPANIES_BY_USER” unavailable on migration jobs.I can’t make an import for user passwords also but I think it’s not possible unafortunately.It’s a mess to manage users because we can’t add a field. No way to search with user groups, personally I am forced to have an Excel file with additionnal information to search Identity “user1;user2;user3;user4;user5...” (and it’s not working if there is many users in the search.Thanks

How can the data be migrated into IFS cloud? Like we want to migrate some companies/sites/their users/service requests from legacy system to IFS cloud.

Hi All,We are currently in the process of upgrading from IFS 8.0 to IFS Cloud.In the 8.0 application, we have a modification that allows you to load files directly from excel (xls) to data migration. According to the latest information in IFS Cloud it is impossible.I have a lot of migration tasks which create tables (procedure: Create_table_from_file). Have you some idea how to fulfill this tables using xls files? I don't like csv files.

I am trying to use an end user log in in order to create custom SQL reports using Oracle SQL Developer. Currently the user permission does not allow me to access any of the views or APIs for reference. What permission is necessary to view the tables and APIs? 

IFS 8 Exe Config File and Its Related FilesHi All, currently I have the IFS 8 Exe Config File and Its Related Files, which we are using it to run a batch file job for the migration tasks in IFS 8 however we are migrating over to IFS 10 and thinking about doing the same for IFS 10, does anyone have any idea how do I obtain these same files for IFS 10 ? 

Hello, In Apps 10, I am using the MTK to migrate Customer Orders, and receiving the following error for a collection of about 500 Customer Order Lines: ORA-20124: Error.NULLVALUE: Field [DEFAULT_ADDR_FLAG] is mandatory for Customer Order Line and requires a value. I saw a previous post for this issue, but in that post the OP was running a Simple Tool migration job, not using the MTK. There is no DEFAULT_ADDR_FLAG column in MTK_CUSTOMER_ORDER_LINE_TAB; rather, the value for this column is derived within MTK_CUSTOMER_ORDER_API:  if the Ship Via Code on the Customer Order and Customer Order are the same, DEFAULT_ADDR_FLAG is set to ‘Y’; if they are not the same, DEFAULT_ADDR_FLAG is set to ‘N’. Wondering if anyone has encountered this error before with the MTK. Thank you in advanceBob

Hello,Is it possible to set up a Batch external file job to handle dynamic file names?  I tried putting an asterisk (*) at the end of the file name within the External File Template but that produces an error saying the file cannot be found.  

I have some success organizing different task and streamlining the process by using the “Own Process” functionality.It has enabled my team to create custom menus, RMB, conditional formatting, and conditional fields to keep the user experience pretty clean without introducing extraneous options when not applicable. To start, I have had interns work on designing different Own Processes under their own account, as proof of concepts. I don’t want to alter their permissions to allow access to base profiles in order to publish their pages. And I would love not to have to recreate these individually under the base profile as it would be quite time consuming and double work. Is there a way to export these Own Process versions of pages?I know I can save all my RMB separately and import them, as well as any lobby elements we have mapped to forms or pages. Sending these pages to others via “Stream or Email” only send a link to the original configuration of the view. I really need a more efficient

After creating a  external file type & template, when I added another record type with different view and checked for definition validity of template one error message comes up . Besides, external file template turns into invalid. Screenshot is attached here. Could anybody please suggest me about the issue here ???
