We currently run IFS on Oracle using the ASFU license. We are putting in a very small Assyst installation with <400 users If I install on Oracle then the help system will fail if there is a problem with our production database, obviously not idealI considered sql server express but the documentation says it is “not recommended”.  I wondered if anyone knew if there was a specific technical issue or if it’s more of a sizing issue 

We are accessibility testing our portal following an upgrade to 11.6.0 and our testers have raised a question around aria labelling on elements within the update history (shown below). The labelling states that this is a clickable element, which is correct. However, actually clicking on it doesn't seem to do anything other that affect the CSS (border pictured above).My question:Does anyone have any functionality (that we may not use or have turned on) that results in any different behaviours? Contact User actions, pop-ups, etc?

Hi,In MSEdge, the file is downloaded but not opened automatically. Is there a way to configure MSEdge to auto open the file [clientJobRunner.assystApplication]? I looked at various MSEdge (not business install) settings and could not figure it out. Is there a place to check the status on Problem tickets, specifically P16029 regarding the Assign to Me button being grayed out. I see that this problem does not appear as part of the 11.6 fix pack, so I assume this issue hasn’t been resolved yet. The issue still remains for workers in a service department that are only allowed a certain set of Action Types. If the service department is not “locked down” to certain actions, the Assign to Me button works without any issues.For example, if Action Types are specified for the Service Department, the Assign to Me button will be grayed out. If the Service Department doesn’t have any Action Types listed (has access to ALL actions) then the Assign To Me button works.

Afternoon all. It is early doors on this functionality, but does anyone now if there is a permission relating to the administration of keywords on Offerings in the Service Designer in v11.6? I am interested in whether we can enable our business users to manage their own search terms.Thanks

Has anyone tried filtering an item field on a custom form to include all items with a specific configuration characteristic? I’ve been working my way through it myself with the help of the Wiki and Javadocs but seem to be missing something.My use case is to apply a configChar of ‘’Single sign-on’ to all applications that are set up for it, to present our user base with an incident relating to troubles logging in, and limiting the item selection to only relevant applications.Thanks in advance.

Good morning,I spoke with IFS this morning and they confirmed that their customers who use Kerberos to authenticate AD users to assyst are reporting that users can no longer access the application after some Windows Server 2019 updates were applied.Has anyone here who uses Kerberos to authenticate users to assyst (pass-through authentication) experienced problems after Win Server 2019 updates being applied to the server?We will be attempting to rollback the updates.  I have also checked the krb5.conf and it appears to be correct.  I removed older encryption types.As a workaround, I have set up an alternate assyst app server that is using Database authentication to allow users to continue to use the application.Anyone else having this problem?  We are on assyst 10 SP7.5 but IFS has told me that it affects all versions.

Hello All, Is it possible to create a Custom Lookup on an assystNET form using Contact User as the single-select-lookup but have the Default Value Expression as the user who is currently logged in?

Hi,I have a Single Line string custom filed on a logging form, and would like to add a Validation Expression that stops a user entering 000000 or 123456.I’m able to write an expression that allows only 000000, but not able to write an expression that doesn’t allow that combination of numbers.Has anyone had any luck writing this kind of validation expression?Thanks in advance

It would be useful for “OR “ and “IN” functions could be used in expressions. For example within customiser forms, a visibility expression of: $W("Lookup Field 1")="Value1" OR $W("Lookup Field 2")="Value2" Thus negating the need for the creation of multiple fields to perform the same function.Anyone else think so? Please upvote :)

We wondered if anyone else in the community was planning on upgrading when 11.6.x is released? We’d love to get more of an idea of what other institutions are doing - do you like to keep up to the minute or take a more slow gradual approach?

I’ve created a user alias and need to restrict some of the service catalogues.  I created a customized homepage in assystNET to show only the service offering they will need.  (this is all because of privacy issues) I’d like to remove the view of the services within the menu but if I can’t remove just one option, the whole menu is fine.  It should be based on the user alias I created.  Is there a way to do that?  If so, how?

Just upgraded from 11.3 to 11.4 (and now to 11.5), and it looks like the built in images are not working in the portal. It looks like all images are still loading from the assystimages folder on the server, which we are trying to move away from. Have tried many things, including what looks to be a related KB article, but I have not had any luck. Anyone have any suggestions?

We’ve been experimenting with the API and we’re wondering if there is an example of a POST request for an Event. The documentation on https://wiki.axiossystems.com/assyst11-3Wiki/index.php/Integrations:assystREST#Requests shows what the format of the request would look like but not all the required fields. I have looked through the resource schema on to find what fields are mandatory on events, every single field under events has a minOccurs attribute so that leads me to believe that none of the fields are mandatory? It would help our understanding to see an example of a POST request for an event with all of the mandatory fields. Where could we find one for reference

Hi,I am hoping you can help importing a CSV into custom fields.  I have created a custom item form (copied from Item) with custom fields.  Using assystETM, I have created a data mapper for the custom field, but it keeps failing.  Is there a way to tell if ETM recognizes my field? 

Hello, is it posible to set personal or system-wide settings to define client filtering for "Assigned service department" and "Assigned assyst user" dialog separately from the parameter in personal settings. This is about the event logging forms.With the client filter active on service department and assyst user, it is no longer possible to find a service department or assyst user directly via Quick Search if it is in a different client than the one in the (automatically) set filter. To work around this, either uncheck the Event's client filter, or open the Search dialog and check the "Uncheck Client Filter" box. Only then will the desired search results be displayed.Deactivating the client filter in the personal settings is a technical option, but unsuitable for operation. Ensuring client match for content such as user, object and process is mandatory.Pre-assignment of the service department by the EventBuilder is not consistently possible in all cases, so that

Hi,We are currently experiencing issues with browser caching, where assystNet users don’t see the correct homepage, offerings, layouts, formats that they should be seeing - the only way to resolve is to clear the users browser cache.This has probably started following an upgrade to 11.5.2 a few weeks ago, but wanted to post this to see if anyone else has the same issue as we are experiencing and if so how you manage/resolve that so that ALL users have their browser cache cleared?

Hopefully this is an easy one: How can I request a match on the Name of the Single Select Lookup instead of it’s Shortcode? In this example, we can match application-subdomain, a Single Select Lookup, based on Shortcode, without issue. The wiki makes reference to things like .singleSelectValue.name but I’ve not been able to figure out the appropriate code for the left-hand side of the assignment in order to perform the lookup based on the Name value of the Single Select lookup field. Are there more examples of this somewhere? Or is it always based on Shortcode and I need to use a lookup table? 😀 Thanks so much,...Donovan

It would be great to allow for sub-labels on forms. Instead of having this text pop up when the user clicks in the field, allow for a sub-label under the field name.Current option Sub Label option  

At Norfolk probably like many of you we use tasks on Service Requests for internal workings to fulfil the SR.  Whilst our staff have been communicated to the importance of using the Service Request ‘S’ for any communications with the Affected User there are times when they forget and will take the Waiting Customer Input action (which triggers an email to the Affected User with the task ref).  So ideally we would like the ability to only show the Waiting Customer Input Action on Service Requests and not tasks (not sure this is possible though).  We could obviously stop the email but its a bit of a catch 22 as at least the Customer knows we are trying to get hold of them, even if the Task Reference has no meaning to them.  Just looking for an innovative ideas or others ways of working that are out there

In the Service Designer I want to reorder the Service Link entries.  However, when I try (either by drag-and-drop or using the hotkeys) the ‘Outdated Data’ message box appears and the changes aren’t made.  Sometimes it shows that the move has been completed, but when the Service Designer is reloaded or when I log into the Self-Service Portal to see they actually aren’t.  I can reorder the Offerings without an issue.There’s no one else using the Service Designer or logged into the application (as this is being done in test at the moment) so there’s no user conflict possibility.How can the Service Links be reordered, please?Thanks

I feel like I should be able to glean this from the wiki but all my attempts are coming to nothing. We want to put the Actioning user (or failing that the assigned user) name into an Action Template as people are not always signing off with their name when left to their own devices. Any help on finding the right variable name would be much appreciated. 

Is anyone aware of a way to Influence information pulled into assyst when Repeat Major Incident is  used in assystNET.  I am looking in particular at populating Reporting User (which is currently left blank). Using assyst 10 SP 7.5
