Upgrades & Updates

We are upgrading from APP9 to Aurena cloud. We will set the same permissions we used in APP9.Since the permission sets cannot be exported/imported from APP9 to Aurena we need to create totally new permission sets in Aurena. We will name the permission sets same way and use the same permission levels as in APP9. I compare the permission sets in APP9 and trying to set the same in Aurena.How do I know when to set “Set All Read Only” or to “Set All Full” for the projection in Aurena?Is there a way to see this in APP9 so I can set it the same way in Aurena?  

Hi ,During the oracle installation is there a IFS recommended setting for the connection mode, If not what is the best for IFS application database which hosted in a LINUX server.    

Has anyone used Oracle DB as a Service to host IFSCloud?  Is there anything specific that we need to look out for?

Hi,We have a curious problem with a customer, we have an database oracle  Enterprise Edition Release 12.2.0.1.0 - 64bit Production, and we need do reinstall IFS, so we take a custom build (UPD5)from this customer, the installtion was OK, with no erros, but when we try to logon in IFS we have a generic error, TIME OUT. the same build in IPE works fine. so we take another build from another customer (upd 11) and install a new IFS instance and it works fine. we take a look at logs but nothing was conclusive to solve this problem, can this community help us? Thanks

Hello everyone,   I am attempting to install the Demand Plan Client on both Windows 11 Pro and Windows 10 Pro editions.  I’ve downloaded the latest setup.exe that I’ve been able to find however after installation on both machines I receive the code ForecastClient.exe System Error. *The code execution cannot proceed because libssl-1_1.dll was not found. Reinstalling the program may fix the problem. * The thing is I have reinstalled and restarted before opening the Demand Plan Client (DPC), I’ve tried repairing using the setup.exe and have been painstakingly searching for hours upon hours for a solution.  I’ve reached out to support and it’s been days and haven’t received a response.  Has anyone else ran into this problem?  If so were to able to overcome it? And if so how did you do it?  Steps in getting this to work would be greatly appreciated.   

Hi,Does someone know in which version/release in IFS Apps, the table Person_Info_Comm_Method_tab was removed ?I can see that it’s not in App9 and later, but can see in App8.However, in the environment I checked, that table is not being updated with the records added to the Communication Method tab in the Person record. There are some old records in that table.The Comm_Method_tab where party_type = ‘PERSON’ is the table which is get updated with the records added.This causes me to think that the earlier table might have been removed in a release/service pack in App8.Someone have an idea ? Thank you,

We are setting up a new computer for an existing user.  It is running Windows 10 1903 and .NET 4.8.  We are running IFS Apps 10 UPD 12.  We will be installing UPD 15 soon (1 month).When the user uses our Group Policy link in the browser to start EE (in Chrome) it won’t start up.  We can use a desktop short-cut of the same content as the group policy link and as long as Chrome wasn’t already open, the short-cut works.  If Chrome is open, it won’t work.  It works fine in Edge.  Chrome version is the latest (102).  It looks like there is a way to transfer his accounts from Chrome to Edge so we might pursue this but Chrome is preferred by a lot of our users.  So far, this is the only upgraded computer that has had this problem and we’ve rolled out a couple of dozen so far this summer.We’ve reinstalled the Extension & MSI and Cleared his app cache.  Anyone have ideas on what else we could try?

DearWe have scenario some users we  want to disable the preview button on operational reports (report format &output)we use report rules and also try to disable the preview button  from printer but its not work its kind of bug in app10 upd8 or what?? we are using app10 upd8  

Hi!Have anyone experience from upgrade of App10 Aurena and IFS Cloud?My question is if configurations and permission set in App10 Aurena interface will be uplifted to IFS Cloud or do we need to re-do it? E.g. page configurations (context), custom commands, permission set.

After updating the context in page designer saving and publishing the new context added to the page required its not updating the page even after I have logged out and back into IFS. is anyone having similar issues with the page designer ?

Hi,We are currently working on IFS Apps9 ( physical ) but for DR purposes I’m investigating the possibility of moving both the database and application servers to virtual ( Hyper-V ).Has anyone done this, is there anything ‘special’ that is needed to be done to Oracle ( or IFS for that matter ) I was going to give this a go but thought I’d ask here first.Thanks,Mick.

Our Staging environment is currently being used to train new companies transitioning to IFS later this summer and contains data necessary for the upcoming AST.  We are receiving an error message when trying to create a new customer. The error message requires the Print Withholding Tax box to be checked. However the check box is not visible. The check box is not manually suppressed.  When printing reports, we receive an error for missing or mismatched components.     Upon further investigation it appears the Application Server is at UPD8 and the database is at UPD11.  We believe this is the source of the errors.  How can we realign the Application Server and Database to be on UPD11?

HIOn Abbot (test environment ) I changed the mobile version from u6 to u17. The data on the Overview screen does now seem to be blank ( even using the default Field Service design ). Can you think why this would be. Any actions that normally have to happen on a big upgrade jump?Note : Smart client is still on the old version - R6 U6. Maybe that is an issue? thanks David 

Hi  We currently run IFS V.9. Can anyone tell me the actual date that this goes end of life please / out of support. Also, is there a date for when V.10 also goes EOL please? Trying to decide whether to migrate to V.10 and how long we would be on it before needing to migrate to IFS cloud.Many thanks, David

Hi All,We’ve received UPD 14 from IFS which includes JDK 1.80_321 for the middleware.  Does anybody have a list of what JDK 1.80_321 provides to the middleware as updates?

Hi FriendsIn previous version Apps8 you can clean and drop an ifs module for example Accrul calling to AccrulCl.sql or accruldr.sql. I can not find this king of files in uppers version example Apps9 and Apps10.How can I remove a module from IFS ?Regards
