IFS APPS 10 with Oracle 19c

Hi,We are migrating to Apps 10 from Apps 9.We have been using applications since 2002.The Oracle database will be reinstalled and migrated to 19c.The following parameters are present and cannot be changed.- IFS instances: 3 (DEV, TEST, PROD)- ORACLE LICENSES EE CPU FULLUSE- Oracle licensing, usage is only on one server!- Oracle runs on bare metal and the failoverstrategy is a cold standby.- MiddleWare 3 (DEV, TEST, PROD)If I understand the requirements correctly, only one PDB is supported with one CDB for each instance?So I need to install 3 CDBs with 3 PDBs?In this case I cannot setup a resource plan for this 3 instances.Plus I got a overhead with with the cdb and it is more complicated to administer.All 3 instances con influence each other.I realy don’t understand this restriction from IFS.The database should work tranparent for the extended server?The negative aspects outweight the positive one.Anyway I’m thinking about to skip the implemantation for CDB and use the depricated non-C

Aurena Vs Enterprise Explorer

Having worked with IFS Enterprise Explorer (EE) over the past 5 years, I am finding the transition to Aurena very challenging. Many of the features/functions I have come to rely upon in EE don’t seem to exist in Aurena. For example…Start pages Doc macros Structured Docs Info Cards Send to college Sticky notes Go-To-Column Conditional formatting Selections Save as template / New from template Copy and Paste Count hits Advanced search (i.e. group, count, sum, etc) Quick charts Find and replace Keyboard navigation (e.g. using cursor up and down in a table view) Keyboard shortcuts Open in new window (via Shift key) Save as draft Font colour for read only and Edited text (via options menu in EE) Expand all on Product Structure Graphic screen System info (context panel in EE) Output channels (context panel in EE) (also, neither field help or page help seem to work, and Aurena search sometimes gives inconsistent/incomplete results)Aurena offers 2 notable user-facing advantages over EE: The fi

Apps9 to Apps10 upgrade - Is re-configuration difficult?

We are looking to upgrade from IFS Apps 9 to Apps 10.We have quite a lot of configuration, which i fear will fail after the update scripts have been applied (Am thinking due to view name changes)Has anyone been through the process of upgrading, did you need a lot of consultant time or were you able reconfigure yourself?Also, how easy is it to then uplift pages into Aurena?Am thinking of the future, we have quite good skills in house, but with over 3000+ custom objects I worry we will have to budget for developer time so want to get my house in order

Why does .XSD reflect previous iteration after delivery update?

After several delivery updates, we had to refresh multiple .XSD files for our reports. Each time they were different reports and were previous iterations of the .XSD. The deliveries contained new reports for our Chinese site. The reports that required refreshing had been functioning properly and had no recent changes for 3 months. What would cause the .XSD to need to be refreshed?

Future direction for the Apps IFS Call Center

What does the future hold for the Call Center?I have studied the Cloud presentation video’s, the Statement of Direction and Roadmap papers. Cannot find any clear description on the future plans for the Cloud Call Center.Will it be merged with CRM?Will it get full Customer Engagement functionality?Will it be a fully automatic ticketing system?Will it have email-to-case functionality with built in mail parser or mail client?Any inside information on this topic will be appreciated.

The drawbacks limiting us from using Aurena

We have very recently installed Apps10 UPD10 and in the testing phase. We are very keen on moving to Aurena client. However there are a few limitations in the configurations that prevent us from doing so when it comes to some of our crucial processes. We understand that Aurena is a different platform so although we have configured and grown accustomed to a certain flow in IEE, that may not necessarily be the best way to handle something in Aurena. We are open to new ways of doing things, as long as we are able to perform things and access business critical information easily and efficiently. So I thought it would be good to share the limitations we are experiencing (the ones where I could not see any workarounds or other ways of doing them in Aurena), with the hope that, this will serve as constructive feedback to IFS, hopefully catalyst to enhancements and also other customers/partners who have faced and handled similar issues can share their thoughts and ideas. Updates and Configuration Analyzer

With Updates becoming main vehicle for delivery of fixes and new functionality for IFS Applications there is a greater need for our Customers and Partners to be able to validate impact of merged Update on configurations they have developed. This has been made possible from Update 6 for Application 9 and RTM release of Applications 10. However up to very recently it involved help from IFS Global Update Team who could include export of configurations developed by Customer and/or Partner during Update Analysis and provide list of impacted areas. From second half of 2019 we have even better solution for dealing with Update impact analysis on developed configuration. IFS Product Development made it possible with IFS Configuration Analyzer. Now Customers and Partners can perform impact analysis at any point in time – before, during or after delivery of Update delivery. Tool will present impacted configuration in a list that shows type of impact and allows to export that information to Excel.

Not saving changes in "my start page".

Hi Mate, One particuler user reported problems with not saving changes in "my start page". anything what is being changed (added) is not saved after exiting IFS, so all saved searches and titles are gone. Is there any known treat for this? Amal

Deploying Multiple Deliveries in an Upgrade Project

Hello,I am reaching out to you to get some information regarding the upgrade projects that you might have done.I am currently working on an upgrade project from APPS9 to APPS10. It has about 15 deliveries in total including 2 UPDs. This takes about 30 hours in total to import the upgraded database and to install all the deliveries for the Managed Cloud.I was wondering whether it would be okay to deploy multiple deliveries including both UPDs and sending it as a single delivery. Has anyone followed this approach before?It would be great if you could share your knowledge and approaches that you followed in the upgrade projects.Thank You

Upgrading OS prior to applying IFS Apps 10 UPD 8

according to what we were originally told , app server / middleware UPD 8 and higher supported Windows 2019. Prior to that 2016, The question is can we upgrade the OS to 2019 prior to applying IFS Apps 10 UPD 8 without the update 8 and 10 script breaking? Our DB server is already on 2019. Thanks for any guidance or experience that can be provided.
