In our flat sheet processing dept we run multiple parts per sheet (nesting). So the employee will Start Production on multiple Shop Orders (same WC on Shop Orders). Example: Employee is working on 3 Shop Orders. Total time = 3 hoursCurrently 3 hours is added to each Shop Order for a total of 9 hoursWe would like to to split the time either evenly across (1 hour for each Shop Order) or split up based on qty/est. I’m sure there is a set up we are missing, but I’ve been searching for an answer without luck.We are on Cloud 23.1.7Thank you, in advance for your help.JoyGCX
As part of a redesign of one warehouse we are looking for a way to have a single Kanban pull result in a two-step material move that can be handled by WADACO.The situation is that production cells trigger the kanban, pulling material from the warehouse. However for the new warehouse design the material must be picked from the warehouse locations and put into a single staging location, and then a separate move needs to be done from the staging location to the production cell.Is there a way to handle this natively inside IFS, accurately reflecting the true material locations and without any of the warehouse team waiting on material that is not yet in staging? We use Transport Tasks today so that’s where we’ve been focusing to try to solve but maybe there is a different approach? If there’s no standard way to achieve this in IFS, the best thought I have at this time is as follows but it seems like overkill:Use an event to kill any Transport Task that gets created to pull from the new war
In IFS Cloud, we have serialized subcomponents set to Manual Issue so that the manufacturing team can issue the components as they are installed on the assembly. The challenge is that sometimes the team under-issues the required quantity, since Manual Issue allows the shop order to progress without fully issuing the required qty.Is there a standard setting or configuration in IFS Cloud that would prevent under-issuing, so that the team must issue the full required quantity before closing (or finishing) the shop order — while still keeping Manual Issue as the issue method?
Hi All, One of our group businesses has been grappling with APB for a few years, unable to produce a realistic, reliable schedule, at least not without significant manual rework. The ability of APB to function in our environment has been called into question, i.e. can it ever be made to work? And I have been tasked with finding a customer, in a similar industry / use case, willing to talk to us, to try and answer that question. A brief outline of our business:-A provider of engineering services; predominantly offering a make-to-print service for high-complexity, low-volume part production requiring CNC machining and grinding processes to produce. This results in a Job Shop environment configured to deal with a high-variety of products mainly seeing strangers, with few repeaters or runners. Stats:- 7.5 operations per routing (mean), 995 open shop orders, 517 unique parts across those orders, and a median lot size of 2 off. The business has recently moved to IFS Cloud after running A
We want to receive labels with serial numbers, but we do not want to register these serial numbers during purchase order receipt or keep them in inventory. The label is only used when a second serial number is required for the end product (as a customer-selectable CTO option). If this label is included in the product structure/shop order materials, the system should force serial number registration when the part is backflushed / issued into the tracked structure. With the current part-level serial tracking settings, I cannot find the right solution.Has anyone solved this requirement?
Hi, We are implementing parts of IFS Quality. We’d like to load our historical Non-Conformance Reports. currently IFS Cloud doesn’t allow backdated NCRs to be entered. Short of doing a mod, is there a way to load these? A data migration job that bypasses field validation? Has anyone done this?
I have a query regarding the Change Order window. There is no field to check the Performed Date and Completed Date for an Engineering Change Order. Below is where the CO Approved Date and Analyzed Date can be checked. We need to know where the Performed Date and Completed Date can be found.Could you please suggest or advise on this issue?
Hello.I need a little help about how to set up work centers in IFS, if there is 3 or more persons per one assembly step/area.For example:Step 1 - 3 operators are doing 3 separate assemblies in the same area. After that, all assemblies move simultaneously to the next step. Lets say this is Work Center AStep 2 - 4 or 5 operators are taking previously prepared assemblies and work on them simultaneously also (now its 2 persons for 1 assembly). Lets say this is Work Center BStep 3 - I got 2-3 operators and 12 spots for testing the assemblies. Machine run time is 230 minutes: operators are doing about 40 min per assembly before machine’s independent run time - 180min (meanwhile they can start with other assembly) - and after that, 15 minutes for finishing. Lets say this is Work Center C For planning, which way is it showing correct result in shop order scheduling?Should I add separate resource under each work center (3 for A, 4-5 for B, 12 for C or 2-3?)or should I put resource efficiency
I have a configuration formula that takes input from Characteristics to derive a number. However some of the characteristics are removed based on sales rules, then then causes those to have a value of NULL - this then makes the formula error. Here is the example of what we face when the formula runs: I’ve glanced through the Function, but I didn’t see a IsNULL and I can’t find a definition for the Function list.
I am going into Report Definitions, entering the required information, refreshing the cache, and then accessing my dialog that calls the report. However, when I click 'OK', this error appears. We are utilizing Shop Floor Workbench, and will be issuing material point of use. Is there a way to hide material in specific Location Groups / Location Types from the Manual Issue page based on the person who is issuing material / if they accessed the manual issue page from Shop Floor workbench / something else to hide the available material lines in locations we dont want people issuing from?
Hi,Does anybody know if the way IFS handles Estimate Item > Required Date for components of BOM’s has changed from Apps10 to Cloud? In Apps 10, when I add an Item Type of PRODUCT (Part with BOM) and enter a Required Date, the subcomponent dates are planned. When I perform the same process in Cloud (24R2), my entered Required Date is populated into all sub-components. They are not planned like Apps10. I cannot find any reference to this functionality changing. Does anybody know if and when it was changed?
Hi, There is a WO for the Object connected to the Work Center Resource. However, the Maintenance Import job is not creating a Resource Break. Cloud version Data setup Site enabled for APBScheduling Horizon is 8hrs to 365 days. (Work Task days are within this horizon) Object Connected to the WC Resource WO/and Work Task are both for the same above Object Task Site is the same Duration, Planned Start/Finish dates are specified Operational Status of the task object is “Obstructive” Task status is “Released” (tried with “Started” as well) Executed the Job Already tried executing for the entire site as well No Resource Break created for this WC Resource Any idea what am I missing here ?
Hi,Could somebody help me to set up the Cost Source for Posting type M42?I checked the transaction results on the accounting tab of Labor History and found that the journalized row posting type M42 was status 99 due to not contain the cost source ID. The error description says 'There is no Cord part B value for Posting type 42 Control type C90, Company TS' The following are the set values: Is there something missing in the setup to properly use the cost source?Any information you could give me about the use of cost sources would be great help! Thanks,Sammmy
We are looking at our options deploying the standard Shop Floor Workbench interface in IFS Cloud vs the app version with the command buttons. I attached an image of the shop floor workbench app.We are going to launch in IFS Cloud 24R1, is there a way to add buttons to this interface? I’m looking to add shop order analysis capabilities and routing operation work guideline printing capability.
If a repair shop order is created from component repair order is there any way in IFS to attach the shop order material to project inventory supply type? After that we want PMRP job to create demand for those materials. IFS does not seem to have anyway to convert consumed materials to Project Inventory.
Hello Community,We have a scenario where a Shop Order with a lot size of 100 pcs is scheduled using APB.For Operation 10, all 100 pcs are planned to be completed in 21 hours.Considering an 8-hour workday, the operation 10 would take roughly 3 days to complete. My question is: Where in IFS Cloud can we see the per-day planned quantity for such operations?I am looking for a way to monitor the breakdown (e.g., daily planned output) instead of only seeing the total planned hours or duration for the operation.Any guidance, best practices, or navigation tips would be highly appreciated. @Björn Hultgren @matt.watters would appreciate your input.
Good day,Is there an option in IFS Cloud to inherit the reserve/issue method in product structures from the inventory part value? Is there an mass update function available for this?
We have used the RMA process to have parts returned from the customer for a long time but would like to consider using CRO because it would allow us to bring the part in as customer owned. When using an RMA there is an RMA document created that can be sent to the customer and is also what is used by receiving to know what to receive that part back in against. I am pretty new to the CRO process, but I do not see what is used to communicate with the customer similar to how an RMA document is used? Am I missing something?
We have encountered that the "Close Operation" option in "Shop Floor Workbench" is only working when performed by User Id: IFSAPP USER However, when same action is attempted using a different user ID, with same permission grants the action is blocked by the system (Error message states user has not been granted with required permissions
Hello,I am encountering the following error while launching the IFS standard functionality Change Rev Alt via a scheduled task that allows to update the Routing and/or Structure from a chosen DOP order in the DOP structure. I tried to add the resource in the Work Center and relaunch the batch, but I am still encountering the same issue.T tried to launch the function online from the DOP Order, but the structure is too complex and after 10 minutes I encounter an error.Do you have any idea? Thank you!
Hi All, A customer following the Concurrent Engineering process reported an issue when part numbers are changed due to new design updates while the Shop Order is in Started status. The original part is serialized, and during manual receiving, when the source of the receive, part is switched to a substitute, the system shows the error: “Substituting for a Serialized Part not allowed.”This was reproduced in both APP10 Regional Test LKP and IFS Cloud 25R1 Test CMB environments. Upon reviewing the product documentation (Receive Substitute Part page), it is clearly mentioned under the prerequisites that: “The original part should not be a serialized part.”Business Impact:In Aerospace assembly manufacturing, shop orders often remain open for several weeks, and design changes occur frequently. Therefore, the ability to use substitute functionality for both serialized and non-serialized parts is critical for business operations. Currently, the substitute functionality works as expected for non
Hi All, We are experiencing an issue where we cannot cancel the shop order, which is linked to a customer order. Customer order is in invoiced/closed status. I tried to unpeg the customer order from the shop order, and I’m getting the following error.I tried to replicate the scenario in the test environment, and it was unsuccessful since I can cancel the shop order even after invoicing the customer order line.I found the following article in the community,Greatly appreciate it if you can help me find a solution for this.Thank you. Kind Regards,-Kavinda Jayaratne
Is there a way to attach multiple parts to a change request at once. In Apps8 we could copy and paste objects. Also, is there a way to copy multiple parts to a document at once or multiple documents to a change request..
Hello,When configuring a CTO with by-products in IFS Cloud, we need an interim order to be created. However, when attempting to create the interim order, I receive the following message:“No buildable routing revision/alternative exists for part xxxx at Site on the date 2-SEPT-25.”I checked part xxxx and confirmed that the part type is set to "by-product." It does not contain a routing and/or a product structure. What could be causing this error?Kind regards,Willem
