HI,our production process is quite complex and for the same shop order we can get different quality of product (same part) at the end. What is the best way with IFS to “class” this different level of quality for the same part type: high quality / less quality. Thanks,
My company has been having an issue with a single part when we manually issue it to a shop order. This isn’t consistent for this one part, meaning one moment it will take 5 minutes to save the page when manually issuing and the other moment it is instantaneous. To troubleshoot this, we created a separate part from scratch that was the same without using the “copy part” functionality and we found that for a bit this was working, manually issuing was instantaneous, but eventually we were back to that new part taking around 5 minutes to manually issue. We ran a debug session to see what exactly is the hold up and it shows that one API (&AO.Shop_Ord_Util_API.Manual_Issue) took around 100k ms to complete. Has anyone else had this problem and how did you fix it?Again, this is for one part. We have more than a handful of similar parts that are setup the exact same way that don’t have this problem.Any help is appreciated.
Within Apps 10 I’m able to connect activities between different projects, using the Planning function but what would be really useful is if you could see that connection on the Gantt view.Is there anyway of seeing connected projects with IFS Apps 10 ?We have large projects which have dependencies from smaller projects, they need to be kept separate for accounting purposes but it does make it hard to see, at a scheduling level, the inter project dependencies.
Hi community,Could you please explain how Trigger Type in Control Plan - Manufacturing (Sample Frequency tab) work, How to use it? and Is it possible to add or manage Trigger Type?Thank you in advance.
Hello,We’re implementing IFS at a shipbuilder. They have thousands of project activities (20,000 as a rough number), referred to as work packages, with one or more WO orders attached to the activities (or in their words, the work package).I think Project Deliverables will fit that solution but I’m running into dead-ends that cause me to double think if I’m taking the right approach. Would anyone who has used Project Deliverables in an environment that has a huge number of parts and activities have anything on how deliverables was used? It would be very helpful.Thank you.Patrick
Hello,I’d like to tie many Work Orders to a Work Package but looking at the fields on the Work Package screens, it doesn’t look like I can. Do I have it right?thank youPatrick
Does anyone know if a document attachment in IFS can be added to a report or automated email? Here is our situation, but the applications are many. We have approval drawings attached to parts in IFS. If the part is entered on a Business Opportunity or Customer Order, we want that approval drawing as part of the Quotation Document generated by the Business Op or the Order Acknowledgement. btw - we are on Apps 10.
Hello, We are using Apps 10, UPD9. Has anyone experienced the scenario described below? Activity P2657.T01.0010PM.00PM.0040 contains 47 planned hours at a sell rate of $90.00. This equals $4,230.00 revenue. All of the hours are used and thus the Actual Revenue, Posted Revenue and Planned Resource Revenue are similarly $4,230.00. Yet in IFS the Planned Revenue is only $3,300.00 per the screen shot .
Hello, I am looking for a way to determine what user created an Inventory Part. There doesn’t appear to be a history tab or any obvious field where this information is captured. I believe I could turn on History Logging and set the PART_NO field to record all inserts, but I’m hoping there is an easier way in the system to tell which user created any IP. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.
Hello,Is there any way to exclude any inventory location that is considered an “inbound work center location” when creating a count report? Thank you,Matt
When I prepare an Inventory Control Plan, I have to enter a site. Once done I want to activate it. System comes back with error message that I have to set existing control plan to InactiveCurrently it looks like the above. Notice the fact that there is no Site/Contract in the selection list.Opening the active Control Plan shows:The one that I want to set active looks like:So part is the same. The site however is different. My logic tells me that The control plans differ, however IFS tells me, via the error message, that control plans are cross site to be set up. Why is the site there and what usage is the site if I can’t activate it per site.Regards,Steve
When using MRO Shop Order for a Disassembly Shop Order Type, is there a base data selection to reverse the order of existing Manufacturing Structures and Routings. We are looking for a easy way to disassemble a shop order, does anyone have other suggestions or process ideas you can provide.
Could someone explain to me the difference in the values found in the various Part Cost Bucket tables? part_cost_bucket_tab part_cost_bucket_one_tab part_cost_bucket_history_tabI am attempting to construct a Bill of Materials for a data warehouse, and these three tables seem to carry slightly different values. For the purposes of demand calculations in the data warehouse, I need to be able to leverage a Bill of Materials as of any point in time, so I was hopeful that the history table would include everything I need -- but there are some examples of Part associations in the other two tables not available there.I could perform a simple union of these tables in my SQL query in order to handle for any missing data -- but that feels like a weak solution that could generate more confusion than it alleviates.Any guidance others could provide me on the nuances between these tables would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
Hi, I would like to ask, for IFS “Routing” , How does it support SubAssy? Is there any workaround for it? (the attached pic is the image) background-customer don’t want to create a seprate Routing for SubAssy, because seperate Routing means they have to create dedicate Shop-Order and dedicate Product No for SubAssy. And they have 20+ SubAssy.
Is there any way in IFS 10 to make MRP result as Production Smoothing (Heijunka) ? The purpose is smoothing of production quantities or supplier schedule per material within a leveling period. I see this feature is available at SAP. https://help.sap.com/viewer/d9bb3b5ddc0945d491068fad15060d5c/2019.1/en-US/a82b32e5d4ba494ab00d708911cce130.html thanks
We would like to test Incident Distribution List Emailing. We have created the Incident Distribution List and setup the Distribution List Configuration conditions. So, when an new Incident is created and the status changes to confirmed then the person in the relevant email distribution list associated to the configuration should be emailed. When I checked the Release Email Notifications information I can see that the activity is used to send email notifications manually. Note that the status of the notification setting will automatically change to Completed when notifications are manually executed. In the pre-requisites it has the following: In order to send automatic notifications to persons on the distribution list, the relevant event should be enabled in the Event Actions window by the application owner. If different notifications are required to be sent according to the type of actions performed for an incident report, specific values should be added in the Condition for perf
I could convert xml data set to json format using attached xslt transformer, I tested trasformer using online tools and it’s working fine for online tools. But when I am using that transformer from the IFS for the same data set( same format ), the application msg is giving below error. In my xslt I use “xml-to-json” to print the data What should I do for this issue?

Hi All, Do you use your part cost calculation method as ‘Weighted Average’ ? What are your reasoning behind that decision? Do you experience performance/locks when the transaction load is high?
