The part is a software program and we do not suppose to serialized software.

Is there any way to disconnect this part from serialization?

There are two scenarios.

  1. When you have enabled serial tracking “In Inventory”.
  • It will be not possible to enable inventory serial tracking, after it has been disabled if there are quantities in stock or in transit without specified serial numbers.
  • Otherwise, it would be possible to disable serial tracking for “In Inventory”.
  1. When you have enabled serial tracking “At Receipt and Issue”.
  • This cannot be disabled when there are quantities in stock.

Hope this will help.

Scenario 1 applies when the Serial tracking is enabled at “In Inventory” level.

@Deepak

Tacking is used to track usage and location of material (for high value items such as vehicle part, drug, or invasive medical device).

Serial tracking identifies a single part by a unique number which can be used to track the part in inventory, Receipt, Issue and After Delivery or at Receipt, Issue and After Delivery.
