ITOM SKU information for Software License Reconciliation

We’re working with an organisation that’s interested in the ITOM suite. We have a question raised during a technical deep dive relating to the SKU information we keep in ITOM against each Software License. In ITOM, we have the fields for SKU information (SKU code, downgrade rights, software assurance etc) – however none of this is auto-populated from the current version of the Software Dictionary.In the short-term, has anyone created a reconciliation report to address this or experienced a way to get this SKU information into ITOM without the manual effort?Thanks

How to remove menu options (left-hand side) for customized user alias in assystNET

I’ve created a user alias and need to restrict some of the service catalogues. I created a customized homepage in assystNET to show only the service offering they will need. (this is all because of privacy issues) I’d like to remove the view of the services within the menu but if I can’t remove just one option, the whole menu is fine. It should be based on the user alias I created. Is there a way to do that? If so, how?

assyst images on 11.4 / 11.5

Just upgraded from 11.3 to 11.4 (and now to 11.5), and it looks like the built in images are not working in the portal. It looks like all images are still loading from the assystimages folder on the server, which we are trying to move away from. Have tried many things, including what looks to be a related KB article, but I have not had any luck. Anyone have any suggestions?

POST Operations for Events with Assyst API

We’ve been experimenting with the API and we’re wondering if there is an example of a POST request for an Event. The documentation on https://wiki.axiossystems.com/assyst11-3Wiki/index.php/Integrations:assystREST#Requests shows what the format of the request would look like but not all the required fields. I have looked through the resource schema on to find what fields are mandatory on events, every single field under events has a minOccurs attribute so that leads me to believe that none of the fields are mandatory? It would help our understanding to see an example of a POST request for an event with all of the mandatory fields. Where could we find one for reference?

assystETM Import Zip

Good day,When exporting an assystETM configuration, a zip file is created of the individual JSON files, which is convenient. When I attempt to import the zip file on a refreshed Staging server or into Production, I receive an error message, which suggests this is not supported:Failure assystETM-configurations.zip import failed. Reason: Unexpected character ('{' (code 123)): was expecting double-quote to start field name at [Source: (String)"{{= « string of high-ASCII characters » [truncated 28873 chars]; line: 1, column: 3]If I unpack the zip file, I am left with 19 individual JSON files, a number which will continue to grow. This is a big concern, as the Import dialog will not allow me to select more than one file at a time. Is there another way the configuration can be exported/imported in bulk? LUA Retrieving Attachments with assystREST

Hi,We are trying to convert an older assystEJB call that we have embedded in a LUA script. Here is the call to the getAttachments function: local attachments, err = ASSYSTEJB:getAttachments(parmTicketOrAction, parmNumber) We are trying to convert this to assystREST but it’s not working. Extract open child task id based on parent ticket id in ETM

I have a business case where ETM channel will receive a inbound email with Parent ticket no and I need to close the last open task of that ticket so it moved to the next stage of the workflow.Just wondering if ETM data mapper can extract the last child open task number if I pass parent ticket id as parameter.

assystETM, Data Management Worksheet Duplicate Columns

When I extract Contact User data via the assystETM DMW generation process there are eight columns where the table data is duplicated under a difference column heading in the spreadsheet. Hi,I am hoping you can help importing a CSV into custom fields. I have created a custom item form (copied from Item) with custom fields. Using assystETM, I have created a data mapper for the custom field, but it keeps failing. Is there a way to tell if ETM recognizes my field?

System-wide settings to define client filtering for "Assigned service department"

Hello, is it posible to set personal or system-wide settings to define client filtering for "Assigned service department" and "Assigned assyst user" dialog separately from the parameter in personal settings. This is about the event logging forms.With the client filter active on service department and assyst user, it is no longer possible to find a service department or assyst user directly via Quick Search if it is in a different client than the one in the (automatically) set filter. To work around this, either uncheck the Event's client filter, or open the Search dialog and check the "Uncheck Client Filter" box. Only then will the desired search results be displayed.Deactivating the client filter in the personal settings is a technical option, but unsuitable for operation. Ensuring client match for content such as user, object and process is mandatory.Pre-assignment of the service department by the EventBuilder is not consistently possible in all cases, so that manual editing in a ser

Exposing attachments in workflow tasks to assystNet

assyst v11.4Currently, when a Decision Task is received by an end user (via assystNet) they can go into the system and approve/decline the task. For managerial authorizations (e.g. equipment or access requests) this is fine. But when it comes to change requests that have a workflow the approver can’t see the attachments unless they are on the parent (“R”) ticket. This is problematic because files such as test results can be buried in a UAT decision task. So we are asking the approver to review a change request but they can’t see important documents such as test results or impact assessments. We have trained our IT (assystWeb) users to attach documents to the parent ticket but often the UAT tasks are actually decision tasks completed by end users via assystNet.Can the assystNet portal be modified to expose all attachments in the workflow regardless of where they are? Otherwise, I believe we are nullifying the credibility of the approval.If someone has a solution for this, I’m all

Clearing browser cache

Hi,We are currently experiencing issues with browser caching, where assystNet users don’t see the correct homepage, offerings, layouts, formats that they should be seeing - the only way to resolve is to clear the users browser cache.This has probably started following an upgrade to 11.5.2 a few weeks ago, but wanted to post this to see if anyone else has the same issue as we are experiencing and if so how you manage/resolve that so that ALL users have their browser cache cleared?

assystETM Name Match

Hopefully this is an easy one: How can I request a match on the Name of the Single Select Lookup instead of it’s Shortcode? In this example, we can match application-subdomain, a Single Select Lookup, based on Shortcode, without issue. The wiki makes reference to things like .singleSelectValue.name but I’ve not been able to figure out the appropriate code for the left-hand side of the assignment in order to perform the lookup based on the Name value of the Single Select lookup field. Are there more examples of this somewhere? Or is it always based on Shortcode and I need to use a lookup table? 😀 Thanks so much,...Donovan

Stopping Customer communications from Task

At Norfolk probably like many of you we use tasks on Service Requests for internal workings to fulfil the SR. Whilst our staff have been communicated to the importance of using the Service Request ‘S’ for any communications with the Affected User there are times when they forget and will take the Waiting Customer Input action (which triggers an email to the Affected User with the task ref). So ideally we would like the ability to only show the Waiting Customer Input Action on Service Requests and not tasks (not sure this is possible though). We could obviously stop the email but its a bit of a catch 22 as at least the Customer knows we are trying to get hold of them, even if the Task Reference has no meaning to them. Just looking for an innovative ideas or others ways of working that are out there

Service Designer, Link Moving

In the Service Designer I want to reorder the Service Link entries. However, when I try (either by drag-and-drop or using the hotkeys) the ‘Outdated Data’ message box appears and the changes aren’t made. Sometimes it shows that the move has been completed, but when the Service Designer is reloaded or when I log into the Self-Service Portal to see they actually aren’t. I can reorder the Offerings without an issue.There’s no one else using the Service Designer or logged into the application (as this is being done in test at the moment) so there’s no user conflict possibility.How can the Service Links be reordered, please?Thanks

I feel like I should be able to glean this from the wiki but all my attempts are coming to nothing. We want to put the Actioning user (or failing that the assigned user) name into an Action Template as people are not always signing off with their name when left to their own devices. Any help on finding the right variable name would be much appreciated.

Task Assignment to Contact User selected from Custom Field in assystNET

I am hoping I describe this correctly. Has anybody managed to create expressions that assign an Authorisation Task to a Contact User, however this assignment is based upon the Contact User from being selected from a Custom Field on an assystNET form?? If you have not done the above have you instead managed to build SmartMail rules to send an email to a Contact User who has been selected from a Custom Field on an assystNET form?? Any advice, help or guidance will be greatly appreciated

Custom action to create normal task

I am having issues to create “NORMALTASK” based on action and link with parent ticket ? Although IFS provided the option to create task but it is time consuming as user need to copy all information (Affected User, Task type, summary, description etc ) so I am trying to build a custom Action that will call a custom action script to create a normal task and attached with the parent ticket copying all parent tickets information. In 11.4 version we do have a feature to create task but when I use my legacy script to create normal task passing event_type_enum="NORMALTASK" it gives me error “ERROR 808 Error encountered when creating new event: Exception: ComplexValidationException: A complex validation error has been detected by the application. Rule broken: mandatorySeedEvent, Related field: taskSeedEvent, Message: ??server.validation.errors.mandatorySeedEvent??. Status code: 400”. Legacy scripts works fine in creating incident and service request.I tried setting the two variable taskLinkR
