Is there any guide to install and manage statspacks on a customer environment to retrieve the performance information?

I have an IAL that I want to duplicate in another IFS system. I do not have access to the original source.  Does anyone have suggestions how I can extract the IAL and copy it to my other IFS system? Both are IFS8 running Oracle 12c.

Is there any information to find about how to move an IFS database from Windows Oracle to a Linux Oracle database server?

Our customer is considering changing the platform using IFS Applications from on-premises to OracleVMServer. Hi, I asked this question on openIFS in November. Now openIFS seems obsolete, so I try here. I wonder whether we could introduce fourth layer next to CORE, EXT, CUST in order to allow modifying the PL/SQL packages by the customer. Assuming the customizations would be done carefully, they would survive upgrades to new UPDATE. For the moment I have created new component and I created some procedures which are executed as scheduled tasks. It would be sometimes convenient to modify the logic in some areas specific to our needs. Asking IFS for doing the customizations is much slower. What do you think ? Regards, Marek  

Hi All We applied Update 15 and 16 to our Live APPS v9 environment this past weekend. Our users have reported that when they attempt to attach a Document (in this case a PDF, but does the same for all) to a Customer Order (and possibly other records), they receive the following error: This was not the case before applying the latest updates. Checking the defined extensions, all looks fine:   Has anyone else seen this issue after applying the recent updates? The issue is also in out Test instance, but we clearly missed this one from our testing! Regards Mike

Installer process get crashed when doing a reconfiguration in TEST environment. reason to do the reconfiguration is that the database has been refreshed from the LIVE environment. not done any changes to the IFSHOME. After the database refreshed, cannot perform the reconfiguration. here I attached the Installer log and the java crashed log.   Track : IFSAPP7/JBOSS   anyone know the reason for this?

Is it possible to publish IFS10 Business Analytics Excel Client on a windows RDS environment?

We have an issue whereby emails OUTSIDE of our company domain aren’t able to be sent from IFS.   An example is where the Purchase Requisition line(s) to Authorize notification sits in a Waiting status with Application Messages with the error message of “Unable to relay recipient in non-accepted domain”.   So lets say we want the notification email to go to Hotmail or icloud for example… Is there a way to make different domains accepted?

I tried to do it with Event Action on EDM_FILE_STORAGE_TAB but without success

I have created a new Crystal report to be run in the client as a quick report in Apps 10.  I have followed the IFS Crystal guidelines and used the stored procedure CR_WEB_INIT. I have made sure it can be run in Crystal as IFSAPP and IFSPRINT and have granted permissions to be able to run the quick report. The issue is that when I run it in the client I am asked to provide sign on information for IFSAPP. Any ideas on how to resolve this issue would be appreciated.  Thanks!

Hi All I noticed whilst testing the application of Update 15+16 to our Apps 9 test environment, that after completion, I got the dreaded single sign on Security Error message (see below). Ok, I am sure it is not always SSO that causes this rather generic error, but thats when I tend to see it. If I manually type the domain username/password it works. After previous updates I had not seen this issue. I found that running a straight reconfigure without changes resolved this issue, but find it a little alarming. Has anyone else seen this behaviour after applying 15 or 16? SSO scares me! :( Regards Mike

Hi,   We had not problem on Windows7. Recently switched to Win 10 1903/1909 and IFS EE crashing randomly without error to enduser. Hi - Hopefully I'm in the right area and also I hope that I am not asking a redundant question.  I did search forums did a search here.  I am working with a view/screen that the user wants a field inserted via column chooser that exists on the form that is used to populate view/screen.  Yes, you can create a custom field which inherits the value of existing field on form and have it become a visible column in screen/view.  I've already done that and that works. But it's READ-ONLY. This new column/field needs to be editable from screen/view as the field it's referencing is editable when viewing the form.  Thoughts?  Thank you all for your consideration.

Currently our task table doesnt have anymore spare User_Def fields. is there any other way to add fields to this table or do we have to create a brand new table and link them together? Our sister company ended up creating another table (CUST_TASK) but the user defs all work the same. In the UI designer you’ll see all these in the task selection However were trying to do insert business rules using the CUST_TASK table and running into issues. If we could do this on the task table that would be great but there are no empty user defs left

Custom objects are one of the fantastic functionality IFS application provides. Are there any self-learning materials or any guidance for learning custom object functionality? (Videos or well-maintained pdf or a word document)  Some basic examples can be found in the IFS help documentation. But I would like to get a deeper understanding with basics to complex examples of creating custom objects and the standards that we need to follow, the best practices, etc.

We’re upgrading from Apps9, where we use AD Sync to create IFS users authenticated through LDAP, to Apps 10, which doesn’t have that option. We are actively exploring the other authentication options (ADFS, Azure AD) as well as DB Authenticated. At this time, we have 200+ AD user accounts. Recreating these users as DB authenticated accounts is not an option.   Is there a way to change a user that was created from AD Sync to a DB authenticated account?

In the API PROJECT_CONNECTION_TEMP_API there is an Insert method. I don’t know where in IFS this is called from but I need to know. I have searched every trigger, database task and custom event for references to PROJECT_CONNECTION_TEMP_API but there is no mention of it. Can someone tell me where this API is called from? I am using Apps8. Thank you.

Hi, If I make a request to an SOAP endpoint via the IFS SOAP Gateway. Where would I find the response message from the endpoint?    

I am currently looking at a way to implement an extra day’s Holiday entitlement for employees with more than 20 year’s service.   The maximum limit I can generate at the moment is 25 days. I am trying to raise this to 26. The HOL absence limit considers the assignment type in the employee record: The maximum work time value is 1, Ideally I’d assume that I would be able to increase this to 1.04 but IFS doesn’t allow that.   So my question is, where is the figure of 25 days coming from? Is this a default value in IFS? Is it generated from a calendar? Thanks in advance, Tom
