Sales and Operations Planning for MTO

Hello, I am investigating the S&OP module of IFS and noticed something unusual, though it might come from me misunderstanding the data.Our Business runs mainly on a MTO methodology. So when I Setup a Product Family and create a S&OP Period and run the Calculations I end up seeing negative Backlog numbers which seems rather odd since all our Shop Orders are pegged to the Customer Orders. When run for the whole 2021-06 Period i get Negative numbers in the “New Backlog Plan” and “Actual Backlog” columns. The Period calculates with a 18 month Forward planning horizon. and 0 Days for Target Backlog .Can someone help clarify if this is working as intended? Looking forward to some Help.

Transit lines - add to Shipment (automatically)

Customer have Shipment creation at "Pick List Creation". When Transit Purchase Orders are received the customer order line is automatically reserved - but the picklist is not created, causing the transit line not to be added to the Shipment automatically. The picklist now needs to be created manually to add the lines to Shipment, is a an event needed to get this done automatically ? (OrderType + ShipmentType should run through this)Example: Customer order with 2 lines, one "Invent Order" and one "Purch Order Trans". When ""Invent" line is reserved it is automaticly creating picklist and Shipment (due to Ordertype). When the "Transit" line is received into inventory it is only reserved, but the picklist is not created, causing the line not to be added to Shipment.

Fixed Exchange Rate in Sales Contract

Hi Experts, In on of our clients, there is a scenario where they have a contract with multiple currencies. E.g. Rupee and USD. Base currency is Rupee and its ok to deal with it but for USD they have agreed to fixed the exchange rate for the contract. So, the dollar rate should be fetched as agreed in the contract in Invoices.We are currently using Sales Contract Functionality with AFP and Project Invoice.Question is “How to get fixed Exchange Rate for Dollar part of the contract where it will reflect the same/fixed rate in invoices and at payments as well.Please share best practice regarding this scenario. MRP: spread the supply

Hi, is there a way to spread the purchase reqs that MRP creates, without splitting the shop order? Assume we have a big shop orders, of several months. We create repetive, 200.000PCS for example. All the same, one operation. One piece after the other.MRP will create a pur req to buy it all before the SO starts. But we would like to spread this out, a pur req for each 2 weeks for example, as we consume the components on a constant rate. Is this possible?

Invoicing PO returns for credit

How do others handle invoice POs when parts have been returned for credit?An example of the issue we are having:The supplier ships 10 pcs and emails the invoice for 10 pcs to our AP group.The 10 pcs are received and the Arrival report is sent to AP to verify the receipt.1 pc is identified as bad and returned to the supplier for credit.When AP tries to enter the invoice, they don’t have 10 pcs to match against.The supplier has not yet sent the credit.

Charges on inventory transaction

We have a customer that wants to have a charge (or cost etc) when issuing parts from inventory to a work order, without affecting the inventory value. The warehouse is seen as an independent organisation and then need to generate revenue to cover the cost (labor cost). To clarify with example: The part has a inventory value of 100, and when the part is issued to a work order, the cost on the work order will be 110. We cannot find a suitable solution for this but i believe IFS has a great way to solve it.

How to cancel a PO connected to a Work Order?

Hi allFrom the requisition tab of a work order, a purchase requisition was made and a PO was created and released resulting in a “close” status of the requisition on the WO tab.Now, I want to cancel the PO again, but I get the message that there are peggings connected to the PO line and I have to remove the pegging first. Problem is, I cannot do anything from the WO screen to remove the pegging, so I’m stuck.How can I solve this? thanksKurt

Supplier portal 3rd party experience?

Hi, Does anyone in this community have any experience with 3rd party supplier portals integrated with IFS 10? The IFS supplier portal becomes really expensive when you have many suppliers but not massive spend. From what I have heard only the Oracle licenses for each supplier is full Oracle license. That business case wont work for us and is not scalable for future rollouts of IFS within our group. The wish list includes:Updating supplier data (approved by us before updated) Update purchase part data (approved by us before updated) Handling of purchase orders (for the suppliers that do not use EDI that we want to set up shortly. Suppliers could choose EDI or the portal.) Ability to get forecast (without our involvement) Possibility to have “one login” together with our drawing distribution system to make it feel integrated. Handling of quality issues and reports Any suggestion would be appreciated

How to handle Supplier Managed Inventory / Customer Managed Inventory

Hi all, I have a very specific case which requires some help;By request of the biggest customer of company X , Supplier Managed Inventory (SMI) or Vendor Managed Inventory (VMI) will be offered to the customer to a selected range of parts. In the scenarios of SMI between company X and the customer, The inventory is customer owned and located at their own warehouse. Company X receives the forecast, usage and orders frrom the customer.My own advise was to use a dummy company where the products will theoretically be moved to and scrapped when used. Invoice will be sent to the customer and the delivery address is customer site. Could anyone please advice how to handle customer owned stock?

Warehouse Storage capacities

Hi, I am trying to setup warehouse storage capacity on warehouse navigator screen. I have entered all the parameters for Width, Height, Depth, Volume and Carrying capacity for Site, Warehouse and Bin location. I have also defined storage requirements on part catalog and inventory part. Whenever I try to receive the part on that location it shows me following error: am I missing some step here ? Thank you.

Inventory Value by Asset Class

Is there a place in IFS EE where the Asset class is stored with the Inventory Value? We use the inventory value by period to report our total inventory levels, but we would like it by Asset Class. There are views in IFS that has the information, but the views seem to capture the data when the view is displayed hence the asset class displaying with the historical inventory value is the current asset class, not the asset class when the historical data was taken.

Purchase order - Proc module - Unable to change invoicing supplier

Whenever we try to change an invoicing supplier in a PO which is in Released state we get the above error however there is no Invoice made/matched for this Purchase order still we receive above error.I believe there is some internal setting in IFS Apps 8.0 where it is defined already that for any given site you can’t process/make any changes in PO whether its Price, tax code, qty etc. post its authorization. This Change order functionality is only there is IFS V8.0 and above, want to know where is the root cause or that internal setting defined as this has to nothing deal with PO authorization rule when checked.Tried to change the setting in authorization too which lists as follows;

Intersite flow with partial delivery

Hi, We have a situation where we use the supply code ‘Int Pur Dir’ on a CO. We want the goods to go directly from our supplying site to the customer. Supplying site is a another internal customer.So order comes in at site A, PO gets created to site B, CO get created at site B, Site B can ship to customer directly and invoice goes via site A. Automatically via EDI.Everything works smoothly for the first shipment. It gets created automatically, we can ship. But we don’t want to ship the complete order at once from site B to costumer. Let’s say the order is for 100 PCS, and we want to ship 10 at a time.We ship the first 10 from site B, everything goes perfect. But if we want to create a new shipment, the available pcs don’t get shown in the shipment tab ‘Available order lines’. It’s just empty. We tested this in a different enviroment and it worked, but for some reason now it doesn’t. Does anyone know which settings are important to check in this case? Best regards

Hi all, need your help with solution design.How would you configure bonded warehouse in IFS?I have company A, B and C created in IFS, that have sites S1, S2 and S3 belonging to these companies accordinglyCompany A is selling parts form their site S1 to Company C, but deliver parts via bonded warehouse of Company B and their site S2.How should I configure in IFS, having PO-CO flow from S3 to S2 to S1, but not having sales transaction with Company B that is managing Site S2?Goods flow - S1 → bonded warehouse managed by Company B → S3.Financial flow Company A → Company C Thank you for ideas!

Hi all, (using IFS10, UPD7) We are looking into setting up an interface with our external logistics company. We send them our Purchase Orders etc through a scheduled Quick Report. The idea is that they will revert back when these PO’s have been received by them. Is there a standard API for this PO Receipt, that also is able to send the location where the parts are stored?
