Service (Touch Apps, MWO, MRO)

Hello community.    We have a client who would like to use the Mobile Work Order but have the option to raise PR’s through the app.   I have looked through the configuration and i cannot see how we configure this.  I can see that the user has permission to the process in the permission set in the activities tab however the functionality does not show in the mobile application.  Does anyone have access to resources on how to configure what appears on the front end of the mWO app?

I am having a problem with the IFS Mobile Work Order app (on Android). When I try to select a Work Order I get the error message "Application not authorized to user". See attachment. I have re-initialised the app several times and also re-synced the work orders screen but it makes no difference.

We are trying to automate the sending of a completed job record sheet to our customers. We have another customisation which creates a version of the job record sheet and a copy is saved in the report archive and PDF archive. We attempted to use a system defined event called PDF_REPORT_CREATED. However, we cannot find a way to add custom attributes to this event, so we cannot add the customer’s email address as a parameter. We then tried to create our own event using ‘PrintJob’ as the logical unit. This allows us to enter a custom attribute to get the customers email address. However, none of the  tables within this logical unit have the PDF FILE to add as an attachment to the email. I also cannot find an api that will return the PDF so that I could add this as a custom attribute to our event.   So - I can either create an email to a specified address with no attachment OR an email containing the PDF report but not a specified email address. Concerns; Customer requires to make auto number of Product Serial No with specific rule such as; YYMnnnn     YY means 2digits of year M means a month such as A as Jan, B as Feb…  The date could be production date. Is it possible with no customization? Regards;  

I have a Custom RMB menu item that I am trying to limit who can see it but cannot find it anywhere to do that - any help would be appreciated

Is anyone aware of use cases for the SLA attached to a service contract?  We can create an SLA template,  which can have multiple lines included into the template with different response and resolution targets.  It seems that the SLA only considers the first template line - we cant work out why. Any help from the community would be appreciated 

When the user is trying to process a shipment, he gets an error stating to contact the office   no other details this is 5.7  

Does anyone know if it is possible to create a notification (email, sms) to be sent at a later time? I have a requirement to send notifications to contacts only when they are available, and if not, to wait until they are available. Related to this, what DB table holds this message queuing information?

Hello, When we started with IFS, we started PPM WO numbering from 600,000. We are now up to 500,000 from service requests. So, I’m assuming when we get past 599,999 IFS will find the next available number to use, however, if we are generating new PM WOs and a work order is logged at the same time, will both processes fight for the next number? Where is the number sequencing controlled for work orders in IFS Apps 8? Regards Shaun

A user wishes to print preview a purchase order change order, before the change order is authorised and the purchase order is updated. The reason for this is the person wishes to review what the updated PO would look like before they commit to authorising.   However whilst on the ‘Purchase Order Change Order’ screen, there is no option to print preview.   My initial thoughts are a custom RMB click to a purchase order quick report. However I would want this to reflect our current PO layout which is designs using report designer. 

Hi,   we’re on a quest to find out if call center can  make a difference in our company. I can ask IFS and the anwser will be “sure it can” and i believe them, however .. talking to someone using it already would give me the real experience. So, if somebody using Call Center feels like shedding a light over the matter in a call or skype session that would be amazing, otherwise we’ll go for the IFS option. We’re located in belgium, be we’ll adapt to any timezone if that would be helpful.   BR Filiep

Between application 7.5 (or 8?! I am not sure...) and 9 I have seen a difference regarding object transformation. In the old release of IFS application an entry was made in the object connection list if a document was passed on from a source LU to a taget LU. Now it seems to be only displayed online. Can someone explain the benefit?

Under our part usage, i am trying to also add the description of the part which is unfortunately located in the part table. Since there is nothing connecting these two it cannot determine the path. i manually add it via the item path in the UI designer but it doesn't return any values. there are a lot of screens that i want to do this one. What would be the best way to go about this?    

Hi, Are you able to advise how we setup automatic authorization of debit and credit postings on the Work Order tab?  We are using IFS Apps 8. Regards Shaun

Currently for our users to transfer parts to our mobile devices, they have to create a request, fill in the part needs, print picks, ship it etc. Then the tech will receive it on his screen under the receiving tab. this is a lengthy process for our shippers, especially in the summer. Logistics manager lets the user transfer a part in only a few clicks. takes 20 seconds to do. However the part wont immediately show up in the mobile users stock. They have to initialize before the data come into their phone We’re on v5.7. Is this a version issue or is there a way around this?

Hello,   I’m trying to create an event Action to alert the buyer when a Reschedule_date is entered but only if the date is different than the Promise_Date.  I’m using the Purchase_order_line.   CAn this be done?

We are developing custom fields and custom LU’s in a customers IFS 9 Environment. We will also be developing new report files (.rdl) that contain custom logic on custom fields. These .rdl files will not be sent to IFS Harvest as they contain custom logic and will not be accepted by IFS. We have also developed a custom API which has custom logic written as per IFS standards.  we accept full responsibility on the support of all these configurations if any issues arise in the future. we will not be making any changes to core IFS code and will simply be using the configuration tools provided to us by IFS.   My Question is - Based on the nature of this work does this violate any IFS license?

During a shop order process, I want to track all my work in progress (WIP) materials through separate locations during a shop order process. Once I issue the component material against a shop order, before starting the operation or in the mid of any operation I want to track the location of that WIP material. Is it possible in IFS Apps9 through a work around solution?

I have a custom LU I have created and I need to multiply it by the LU  IE  $ times Quantity = Price What is the best way to do this.  Reference would be PO by PO line on that line.   Apps 10   Thanks!

 I know that you can add a new adjustmnt_reasn in Code Tables,  but how does an adjustment_reasn get entered into the records on part_tranlog, is it only when a stock count is posted?     

Hi,   I have some quick reports created in IFS 10, and suddenly, one of them stopped exporting data to excel. Inside IFS, I can see the values I am querying, but in excel I get the “No data found!” message on the first cell.  Does anyone know what might be causing this sudden error and how to get around it?

Is there a way to get the customer signature entered on the mobile devices when completing a WO (MWO) to the backoffice work order report? Assume this signature is saved as a blob in the database but how can we get this into a Crystal report?
