Q&A Discussion of IFS Solutions for our IFS Employees, Partners and Customers

Hi all,I would like to check if anyone has experienced a similar behavior or if this should be raised as a potential bug.According to IFS documentation and standard behavior:Pool Task: the first user who accepts the task becomes the owner; the task is removed from the pool for all other users. Pool‑Keep: multiple users can accept the task; individual assignments are created and the task remains visible in the pool until explicitly removed.I am currently working on IFS Cloud 25R2 using the Maintenance MWO mobile app, and I am facing an issue where the Pool‑Keep functionality does not seem to work when a Resource Group (resource demand) is specified on the Work Task. In detail, when I define a Resource Group on the task, then select Transfer to Mobile and choose Pool – Keep Task, the task is correctly shown in the app as “resource group specified”, but as soon as one technician accepts the task, it immediately disappears from Pool Work and is no longer visible to other technicians. Hello everyone,One more question about how you deal with the following challenge in IFS. A brief explanation: The cut-off check (period accrual) ensures that sales revenues are recorded in the correct fiscal year based on the realization principle. To do this, auditors analyze invoices, delivery notes (Incoterms), and acceptance reports shortly before and after the cut-off date to verify the transfer of risk or completion of performance. Now, these corrections resulting from the audit must also be processed in IFS. We face the challenge that our sales controlling requires the correction at the customer and item level. To ensure this, we use the instant invoice in IFS. This gives us clean data and the tax book remains untouched. The original invoice is not allowed to disappear from the books. However, the process is manual and tedious. How do you solve this?
Hello everyone,a question for the group: like some others here, we are also obliged to value our inventories according to the lower of cost or market principle (Niederstwertprinzip). Brief explanation: The lower of cost or market principle according to Section 253 of the German Commercial Code (HGB) is a principle of proper accounting (GoB) that requires caution in accounting. It states that assets must be valued at no more than their acquisition or production costs on the balance sheet date or, if lower, at their fair value (market/stock market price) in order to recognize losses in a timely manner. We do here with an analysis from Excel, which is based on the inventory value simulation in IFS and some added values (last procurement, last sale, last consumption by shop order). This works, but is of course time-consuming and (because it is manual) prone to errors. How do you solve this?

Hi Experts,We're planning a migration of lease accounting contracts to 24R1 and are finding the process complex. It seems there are several interconnected pieces involved, including object transactions, voucher record events etc. This makes us a bit nervous about ensuring a smooth and successful migration.Has anyone here already done a similar migration? I’d greatly appreciate any insights or advice you could share. Specifically, we're wondering about:Key considerations: What are the critical steps and potential pitfalls we should watch out for? Best practices: Are there any recommended approaches or strategies for this type of migration? Sample migration job: If possible, sharing a sample migration job or relevant code snippets would be incredibly helpful.Any guidance you can offer, even general thoughts on the process, would be very welcome as we begin planning this migration. We want to make sure we understand all the dependencies and have a solid plan in place.
I have a Shop Order that requires an outside process to be done at a different site. I issued the Outside process PO, but nothing is popping out at my other site. Any ideas on what I could be missing?
Encountered an issue when running a scheduled quick report in IFS Cloud 24R1. When the report is sent as an email attachment in Excel format, it contains extra spaces around the cells (except for the header row). However, when I run the same report and export it directly from the quick report/output window, it appears correctly without these extra spaces. Example - Scheduled quick report mail attachment: Output from Quick report window:Could you please guide me what configuration settings should be adjusted to prevent the extra spaces in the scheduled reports Excel attachment? Is there a specific setting related to the export format that might be causing these spaces?Any other suggestions to resolve this issue? Thank you!
Hello,After 25R1, user is unable to approve project forecast with project forecast full access.please suggest the projection which is responsible to approve project forecast template on IFS CLoud.Regards, mrunal khante
We are transfering fra IFS10 to Cloud. All our spareparts have pictures connected to the master part, and we are used to seeing the picture in the media window in IFS10 as we click thru the BOM.In Cloud we need to click several times in the list (binder and folder-tab for every line). I belive a card view of the BOM would have improved the functionality. Typical place for BOM is shown in picture. Are there anyone that could explain how an experienced/advanced user in IFS can set this up in Cloud? The explenation in the technical documentation (example with GuitarTab) make me understand it is possible, but it stops there. And our IFS consultants are not to eager to provide a solution :-)Hope the community can nudge me in a good direction.
Hi,How is it possible to send a purchase order in csv format to the supplyer of the purchase order when i am printing the purchase order ?
I created a PM action with a default calendar end date of 12/31/2030 and configured the relevant object properties. I also set the PM_PLAN_HORIZON to 2030. However, even with this setup, the maintenance plan that was generated is not exceeding more than 2027 (specifically it stops at 09/09/2027), despite the calendar and PM_PLAN_HORIZON being set through 2030.I have also refreshed the cache, yet the maintenance plan continues to generate only up to 2027. Could you please confirm if there is anything I may have missed in the configuration? Maintenance triggers:-Default Calendar:-Object Properties:-
Hi,We are using APPS10 and would like to know whether it is possible to replicate a document text from the Customer Order header to the Shipment header, so that it can be printed on the Shipment Delivery Note. The customer has the setting “Replicate Doc Text” enabled. We have tested adding document text to the Customer Order header, but it does not appear on the Delivery Note. However, when we add the document text at the Customer Order line level, it is successfully replicated and printed at the Delivery Note line level. Is there a way to have the document text from the Customer Order header replicated to the Shipment header and printed on the Delivery Note?
I’m trying to find out where the cost bucket sequence is identified in Apps10. Thanks Dave
Since changing to 24R2 and SU14-19 any work tasks that have previously had an incompleted work assignment are not closing on completion of the final assignment. The MWO user closes the task and there is no further work to be completed, however the work task retains all the closing information but NOT the actual finish date and the task remains at work started. This is due to the time to completion field having a value on the Incompleted assignment. Prior to the update, no value was stored here and work tasks changed to Work Done automatically. IFS thinks there is still outstanding time on the task.It now requires manual intervention to close these tasks down.Is there a way to stop the time to completion field being populated? The engineer cannot set this to zero on MWO and I cant find a way to delete the time to completion field in the Assignment. We do not use the direct allocations method to send work to device. Assign work or PSO scheduling.Any advice on how we can work around this
Hi Community,We have recently upgraded from 24R1 to 25R1 and have noticed a difference on the time registration in the Work Task. Previously a user would be able to select the Resource Group from the LOV, now in 25R1 we can only see the Resource Group for the user. As we have work that can be carried out / assisted by different several Resource’s, we need to be able to register time quickly for those. How we record time: How it looked with 24R1How it looks now in 25R1 Would anyone know how to go back to seeing all of our Resource Groups? I know it possible to register others on the Resource tab and report time that way, but we really do not want the extra admin associated.
Hello all,How can we adjust the serial number sequence for serialized products? The serial numbers need to be unique, but when Auto-generate is selected, all serialized parts start at number 1.For example:Part 1 starts at 10,000Part 2 starts at 20,000etc.Is there a UI where this can be managed?Creating the first serial number manually and then switching to auto-generate is not possible due to the large number of serialized parts.Kind regards,Willem
Hello, INVOICE_ADDRESS_ID of system defined template STDCIN2 has wrong column number, and this is causing error during check external invoice functionality. INVOICE_ADDRESS_ID value from csv file is shown in CORRECTION_REASON_ID and address cannot be validated. Manual correction is required as a work around. The same issue is on IFS10. Thanks
Hello,I would like to automatically pre-fill the value of the "PartNo" field in the part screen via BPA : So I created this very simple workflow: Which is triggered when you click on the "+" : However, nothing happens when you click on it.However, if I try to pre-fill the field next to "Description", there's no problem: I have the impression that the "PartNo" field poses a problem because it's the primary key?Is this the case? Is there a solution? Thanks for your help,Théo
How do you restart automatically an IAL that has errored? We get this quite a lot, and I’m not sure why, the IAL is simple enough, to create data for a lobby. Shows the background jobs, it failed, and never tried after that. I had to manually start it. This is the error:Table was recreated empty due to error [ORA-20105: IalObject.ERRDIMSQL: Error when executing statement. Reported error is "ORA-04061: existing state of has been invalidated"]. Redo replication manually ORA-20105: IalObject.REPTABEMPTY Once I set off the job again, it goes back to it’s routine, running every hour. Any thoughts?
In IFS Cloud, 24R2 SU6, a core defect (confirmed by IFS Case) was identifiedThe ORA-06502 error message only appears when the lot number of the part being shipped is 13 or more characters. When the lot number is less than 13 characters the error does not appear.
Hi,When manually updating a custom field (e.g., triggered by an event), it is common to assume that the existence of a record for the given ROWKEY must be verified before updating. In practice, this check is fully managed by the framework. To perform the update, you just need to pass the objid_ and the two attribute strings. This procedure is consistent for both CF_New__ and CF_Modify__.DECLAREobjid_ VARCHAR2(100);rowkey_ VARCHAR2(100);info_ VARCHAR2(32000);attr_cf_ VARCHAR2(32000);attr_ VARCHAR2(32000);max_date_ DATE;CURSOR get_objid(key_ VARCHAR2) IS SELECT objid FROM ifsapp.customer_order_line WHERE objkey = key_;BEGIN rowkey_ := '4AAA4D5010C186EFE063E57FF20AF8C4'; --get the objid from the rowkey OPEN get_objid (rowkey_); FETCH get_objid INTO objid_; CLOSE get_objid; --clear attribute strings ifsapp.Client_SYS.Clear_Attr(attr_cf_); ifsapp.Client_SYS.Clear_Attr(attr_); --assign the values to be inserted or updated max_date_ := SYS
Is it possible to automatically uncheck the 'Release for material Planning' checkbox by default while adding the Customer order lines? It is required because Purchase Requisition (demand) is generated automatically on Supply Site when CO header is in status Planned for the added line level when supply code is selected as “Int Purch Dir”. or Can we make a tick mark or check the “Release for Material Planning” checkbox after releasing the Customer order no matter which supply code is chosen. So kindly suggest?
Why is there no Controlsize for a Custom Field?
The Migration Job has a Schedule function, which I have not used before.Could someone who is familiar with this function explain to me how to use it and what its benefits are?Best Regards,Kanokkan
We are considering implementing multiple part numbers for our rebuilt parts; a part number for NEW, CORE and REBUILT. We hope that this will eliminate some of the issues we have using Condition Codes. Most of our REBUILT parts are not handled in house. The CORE is sent to a supplier that rebuilds it. The process that we are using is a normal Purchase Order with Supplied Material (CORE). Is this the best process?Second, what do you recommend the PART TYPE to be for the CORE part? Disassembly component, By-product? It seems it warrants its own PART TYPE.Thanks for sharing your thoughts!
