Hi All,   I’m bit confused about how PLSQL method works for inbound messages with binary data (eg: incoming PDF) My interpretation of the documentation is that the IFS framework will encode input binary file to base64, placed in the BIN_DATA attribute of framework generated XML; thus the input of the PLSQL method is an XML.  Both examples in the documentation were also written considering that the input is a XML  However, my experience was that input clob for the PL SQL method is actual file data instead of a XML. Am I confused with the documentation or is is there anything I have missed? Example Function just return the input:

We want to create some links to web pages on an App 10 lobby. Is there a way to specify that a link on a lobby page should open in external browser, and not inside IEE?

We will be utilizing the Purchase Requisition System and have potential for multi-level approvals.  An example would be the approver for a department has a limit of $5,000, then it goes to the CFO who has a limit of $15,000, then it goes to the CEO who has an open limit.  If we have a requisition for $20,000 the department would approve it, then the CFO, then CEO.  This is working fine, the problem is the email notification.  We want to notify the department approver first, then once approved it goes to CFO, once approved goes to CEO.  The out of box (OOB) email Event does this excellent, it just gives an email that is not in a usable format.  We have created a custom event, but it is sending to all 3 approvers at the same time.  How do we get the logic from the OOB Event that we can use on our custom event or clone the OOB event to get the step through approver process?  I’m sure someone has the logic and others utilize this the same way.    

We are currently on Apps 9.  We would like to batch print customer invoices but we have multiple templates that are used for this. I am trying to create a report rule that will default the layout template when a specific site is selected so the invoices are printed on the correct layout.  We have tried various iterations of the expression in the report rule but none seem to be working.  One such version is below.  Can anyone offer any insight on what we may be doing wrong?

Hello, Does anyone know a way of changing the behavior of when you click on a IFS URL link embedded within an email to an IFS screen? If the user is already logged into IFS it will still create a new session (prompting user to login unless using SSO) instead of utilizing the existing IFS session they have open. Any suggestions would be appreciated Regards Shaun  

I’m trying to rebuild a DEV environment from PROD in an automated fashion.   I see the extended server installer script installer.cmd accepts command line options. How do I call this script to rebuild the extended server in a hands-off fashion? Can I pass in things like the SSL certificate name and credentials, etc.?

Hello, We will soon start using doc management with approval templates in Apps 8. Are you aware of anything in IFS that shows the approval status on the document itself? As far as we can see, the doc revision card shows this, but there is nothing to show on the document itself once it is printed / downloaded to your PC. Any suggestions would be welcomed  Regards Shaun

We’re located in Belgium and we have our own Azure cloud servers for IFS in Amsterdam (NL). Apart our from belgian offices we also have offices working with IFS in Czech Republic, Thailand, Malaysia, China and Brazil. But we are struggling since IFS10 with startup times of 90sec. or more in China and Brazil, 60sec. in thailand and Malaysia.  Belgium and Czech republic manage in 20-30 seconds. I find this quite unacceptable, but it’s hard to convince IFS. Anymore people expereincing this? Or is this due to a bad setup ? Should not be, because setup was done by IFS.    

Dear IFS Heroes, I want to automatically send the RMA report via email when the status gets ‘’Released’’ in IFS 9. Usually I’m using the PDF_REPORT_CREATED event, but it’s not working for RMAs because it’s not picking up any PDF_PARAMETERS and this way I can’t send it to the correct email addresses. Is there a way to send RMA pdf reports automatically to the correct email addresses? Thank you, RM

Hi, I am using IFS 9 and there is Application performance issue, when i see the performance details into Task Manger, one java file which is related to Application, it is located as ‘mw_home\java\bin\java’ utilizing 80% CPU Usages and users are getting performance issue. I have created a Read Only custom field on the GL Voucher Row Analysis and when I go back to the screen and Reload the Configuration it does not show up in the Column Chooser.  I have logged out and back in and still no luck.  Any ideas on why this is not showing up?  Apps 10 UPD5

We are in the testing phase of trying to implement AppLocker within our organization.  We quickly ran into an issue with IFS.  We are using App8 SP1+.  IFS does not have a publisher signature and the path to the file Ifs.Fnd.Explorer.exe will change every time we reconfigure the application or even delete the app data folder to force a re download of all of the IFS files to a client's computer.  Are there any suggestions on how to configure AppLocker to allow IFS to run out of Add Data? Thanks

In one of our IFS8 environment we are facing the issue “Unable to open saved pdf file from crystal web service” We have tried the fresh crystal config and ifsprint user grants but no success. Please Suggest.  

Version - IFS2003 We have a user who often exports Quick Report Navigator Crystal Reports to excel using the Export icon. On his old laptop, he has the option to export to MS Excel 97-2000 whereas the new client build only has older options (Excel 5.0, Excel 7.0, Excel 8.0). 97-2000 gives better formatting of data into Excel. We know that the F1 Runtime part of a client install loads Crystal runtime components onto the client and we think we have installed something else on is old laptop in the past to give him the 97-2000 option but don’t know what. We have compared like with like and cannot see a difference. Any ideas where the dlls might be that give him the option for Excel 97-2000? We have split from our parent company, and since disconnecting from there network, IFSEvents has stopped because it cannot use their mailhost. Where do we set the Mailhost for IFS Events to use to send emails?   Yes- we are that far behind the times with IFS2003!

We noticed that Dynatrace APM is affecting the IFS EE client download.  Reason behind this is due to feature called RUM (Real Time Monitoring) in Dynatrace and it automatically injects a javascript tag to each html file in the application it monitors.   IFS client runtime contains a html file named employeedata.htm and it’s included in the manifest in group Ifs.Application.Person. With RUM enabled, file content is modified dynamically so clickonce reject downloading the person.dll meaning IFS forms depending on person.dll will not work. As a solution, a custom rule can add in Dynatrace settings to avoid injecting Javascript to this particular file. Dynatrace rule to do not inject JavascriptCheers!

Crystal report developed and executes successfully outside of IFS. Report is using a custom developed IAL as its data source (access granted to appropriate permission sets) When copy Crystal Report to server and try to preview in IFS an error is presented: Server was unable to process request. ---> System.NullReferenceException: Object reference not set to an instance of an object.    at Ifs_ReportService.GetSavedPDFReport(String FileName, String ParameterValues, String LangCode) in c:\inetpub\wwwroot\IFSCRWebSetupIFST_3\App_Code\Service.cs:line 244    --- End of inner exception stack trace ---  No actions were executed. Other Crystal reports work fine which would rule out issues with the IFS Crystal Web Service. Does anyone have any suggestions to overcome this error?  Thanks in advance Shaun  

We currently send ORDRSP (order acknowledgements) to our EDI customers. In reviewing the ORDRSP XML file, I noticed that all items on an order are included, regardless if there has been a changed or the item has been shipped.  Our current version of IFS is App9 and we are looking to understand the following: Is there documentation on what drives the ORDER_LINE_RESPONSE_TYPE values of: Changed  Accepted without amendment Is there a configuration setting within IFS that would prohibit sending a shipped complete line in an order acknowledgement (ORDRSP)?  Right now, if an order acknowledgement is generated, the ORDRSP file includes the shipped completed line item and the ORDER_LINE_RESPONSE_TYPE is “Changed”.

We have a user that would like the System Info added to their context pane, been through the security settings and can’t seem to find it anywhere. Does anyone know how to add this for a user?

Is there someone out there that have experiance of this tohether with IFS Applications
