Has anyone here gone through the process of properly sizing the hardware requirements for deploying the IFS EAM solution?I’m currently working with a client that operates a single cargo ship and will have around 20 concurrent users accessing the system. I’m looking for guidance or best practices on how to specify the right server resources (CPU, memory, and especially storage capacity) for this type of setup.Any references, calculation guidelines, or examples from similar implementations would be greatly appreciated.
Connected objects is a functionality designed for identifying things that need to be isolated before work in the IFS EAM module. See screen shot This is very useful, but for some reason, I can’t find the connections in the technician portal or on mobile work order. Am I missing something? Is there something that needs set up? We’re on a big utilities project and need the techs to have visibility to this field. Thanks,Jerry
Hello,I am using IFS MWM Office Version: 8.0.0.485 and would like to know where I can get access to the Solution Manager or Configuration or Administrative Tools. Any help would be appreciated ThanksLorry
Dear All,When material is issued from MWo Maintenance as part of remote warehouse (Van Stock), MMR (Maintenance Material Requisition)will be created in IFS Cloud through sync process. Is there a way to identify that MMR is created through MWo. I checked if there is any column in the view or table but could not find any column which distinguishes between IFS Cloud and MWo MMRs.IFS Cloud Version: 24R2Thanks for your time and thanks in advance for your responses.Regards,Srinivas
Hello community,Our client upgraded to 25R1 recently, and since then, for “lot tracking” part, an asteric “*” is filled by default in Register Arrival > Receive with Serial/Lots. Therefore there is no “flag” to fill up that number.Previously in 24R2, whenever the assistant Receive with Serial/Lots was opened, the field Lot/Batch No turned empty, which was forcing the user to enter the Lot No. It lead to the following misleading behavior:In case of “Receive to stock”, we get an error message after validating the reception confirmation pop-up (Your part will be received ...) : “a lot number must be entered for this part”. Obviously, since the Lot Batch No is “*”.However in case of “Receive into QA”, there’s no warning, and parts gets moved to QA location without Lot Batch No. Warning only comes after inspection, at the move to stock stage, which is late.Is this a product behaviour since 25R1 ? or a bug ?Thank you very much for your kind help! Anita
Hello all Is it possible within IFS to create a new assistant from a screen, such as Task Material. We have a case where our technicians may need to reserve stock. I’ve asked the question before, and the response was that you cannot reserve stock from the Task Material screen, however… the question here is… can we create a new assistant that would do it?ThanksJames
I’ve seen other questions or discussions but have not yet found a solution. I’m upgrading from APP9 to Cloud and plan to use part serial rename functionality after the upgrade. This is a great option for recording transactions and history of a part number and/or serial number change. However, if that part serial exists as a serial object the rename functionality cannot be used. The error says: The serial exists in Service management and cannot be renamed. Post upgrade we don’t intend to use serial object; but since we’ve been using IFS for 20 years we have thousands of serial objects already. Therefore if we need to service one of these serial objects again and it has a modification which changes the part number, we have no way to use the rename functionality. Is there a way around this issue or shortfall in IFS? Is there some cleanup that could be performed on serial objects prior to upgrading? Is there an alternative way to rename a part serial that I am not aware of?
In Oil & Gas industries are very common the units/vessel shutdown for a certain time of the year.Is there any solution in IFS APP 10 to manage this shutdown period inside the IFS Work Orders?
Is there a standard procedure or recommended way to add a picture (or other attachments, like maintenance instructions) to multiple functional objects based on a specific field, such as Type Designation or Object Type? What I would like to achieve is; I upload media to a specific type designation → it would automatically show on all functional objects of that type determined, or do I need to attach the media items one by one to objects?Any suggestions or best practices for mass attaching files or automating this process are appreciated. BR, Ville
Hi Experts:Does B2B portal support Bundle Tasks?I dont think this is possible but juts to get it confirmed? ThanksKM
How to debug sql triggered from IFS Cloud using Oracle sql developer ?
Hi I have added the Site information under Enterprise data however, I don't see the site information appearing under Functional Object or Work Task templates. I am encountering this issue in the training environment. Am I doing anything wrong? any suggestions?
Can someone point me in the right direction to pull the ASC 842 Reports that IFS produces. I have this snippet of information about the reporting but can’t seem to find where to run them:
When I use the Failure Analysis Setup Navigator I can add a Function to an Item Class, but then when I select the Function I thought I was supposed to get the ability to add a Fault Type Code. However, I do not see a way to do so. I cannot find any screenshots anywhere that shows what this specific interface is supposed to look like, but I think a table is missing. Does anybody have any idea what is going on?
Hi Experts,This is about Request Quotation not sure I am missing something here.Once a Request Quote is created I cannot edit the lines where this is possible in standard Service Quotation. It should be possible to edit lines in the Quote like adding more Discount, change Prices, invoicing Qty, adding more lines etc but I dont see this is possible in Request Quote compared to ServiceSee below that I cannot EDIT the line? But no Service Quote this is possible, we can add, Edit lines etc Is there a way we can update Request Quotation details, there should be right? Thanks,KM
HelloI have an EAM project. I need to know if the dispatch console can work with Services.I can see the work tasks in the console, but I can't see the resources. What configuration should I have to achieve this?I can configure the configuration in FSM, but I can't access the resources in EAM.
Dear Community. I am working in 25R1 and previous versions, and have found when a Work Task Template has Material demand and the associated Maintenance Purchase Requisition is created from the Calendar Generation, it appears in the Currency of the Company, not the Currency as defined in the Supplier for Purchase Part record. The system does adjust the price on the PR to reflect the currency change, but still the PR appears in the incorrect currency, also, the default Tax Code on the Supplier for Purchase Part is not used. This requires us to continually review generated PR’s and PO’s to ensure they are in the correct currency with the correct Tax Codes, which seems silly since the default values are set on the Supplier for Purchase Part. Am I missing something here?David.
I have linked a document file within the Work List of a Work Task Template and created a work task from it. I am encountering an issue where media files are not being transferred to the MWO work task and the document file is not transferring to IFS MWO Could you kindly confirm if there are any specific conditions or parameters that need to be set up to ensure that media files are successfully transferred to the MWO work task?
I have seen the feature in the site level for maintenance in Move Functional Object to ignore object level validation. I admit it does scare me a little but would like to learn more from people that might be using this feature. Like a pros and cons on when to use it vs. not use it. Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated.
The intention is to change the Task Card Description, Subtask Description, and Maintenance Code Description lengths from the standard 60 characters to 200 characters across all pages where these fields are used. For instance, on the Subtasks page, the MaxLength value for the Subtask Description column in the Subtasks List element was modified from 60 to 200 in the Page Designer. However, during testing, the Subtask Description field still remains limited to 60 characters. Kindly advise why this change is not being applied as expected.
When creating a bookmark for the Maintenance > Equipment > Tools and Equipment page in IFS Cloud 24R1 environment, it opens the Service > Equipment > Tools and Equipment page instead. Steps to reproduce:Navigate to Tools and Equipment via Maintenance > Equipment > Tools and Equipment. Add a bookmark on the Tools and Equipment page. Navigate to another page or log out and log back in. Select the saved bookmark. Can this be identified as a defect? If not, can the service entry be removed from the Navigation designer?
Hi Team,I am currently working on GIS integration in IFS Cloud, but I haven’t found any configuration options for automating Asset Data updates on a daily basis based on layers or features. If there is any specific documentation available on this, it would be very helpful. ThanksLokesh
We have a scenario where PO lines have mandatory pre posting has been enabled. Customer uses ad-hoc purchasing to report expenses that have been externally purchased after purchasing so that authorization process of normal Purchase Requisition can be skipped. After enabling mandatory Pre posting on PO lines we are unable to complete the Ad Hoc purchasing and the process is not inheriting the Pre posting from Work Task as well. Is there any other setup that will help on this?
Hi everyone,We’re relatively new to IFS at our company and are currently working on improving how we track and report equipment downtime.Recently, we’ve taken some objects out of operation and then brought them back online. However, we’re missing a clear report or overview that shows the actual downtime duration for each equipment. From what we’ve seen so far, there doesn’t appear to be a standard solution in IFS for this.Has anyone implemented a reliable method for tracking equipment downtime in IFS?Any advice, best practices, or pointers to existing functionality would be greatly appreciated!
This is regarding a customer who is manufacturing and purchasing Refrigerators mainly. When purchasing refrigerators they buy products from China. Also, they are getting Spare parts also from the same supplier.Ex: Part X is use in refrigerator models A, B Spare part Finished product model X A,B Y A,C Z C So, their requirement is when they Search by Spare part – it should show the refrigerator model connected inventory part and vice versa – when search for refrigerator model connected inventory part, it should show the spare parts. This is irrespective of the refrigerator is manufactured or purchased. They don’t have maintenance module in use, meaning no equipment objects defined in the application. Is there any other way of handling this without using maintenance module spare part handling?
