Hi all,

Faced with error creating a work task from template: jtTask.insert: field [APPOINTMENT_REQUIRED] in Work Task may not be specified for new objects.

Are there ideas how to fix it?

I tested the same action on the Demo environment - no errors.

IFS 25R1.

Hi @fordorin

Can you please check whether the customer has  SVCSCH component ? Is no, then that is the reason for the error.

As per the technical investigations conducted for a previous issue, the error is caused by a new validation in the JT_TASK_API that requires the SVCSCH component. Therefore if the customer has not purchased this component, the 'Appointment Required' indicator being set to TRUE triggers an error.

For this, a fix is planned to be released with 25R1 SU3 version.

Best Regards,

Thilini

Hi @Thilini Kumarasinghe

SVCSCH component is not installed. Sо we need to wait for 25R1 SU3 version.

Where can we monitor launching of SU3 version?

Many thanks for you help, Thilini.

Best regards,

Fordorin.

Hi @Thilini Kumarasinghe

Thank you for posting and providing the detail you have on this issue. In my opinion this is quite a major issue. Is there a possibility a fix for this can be included in 25R1 SU2. There is no information about 25R1 service updates. Can you share if there is and I am missing it?

David.

Hi @david.harmer

Yes, I can understand your concern. But I’m afraid, SU2 is already released, therefore it is not possible to include the same fix in SU2 version. For SU3 also, the fix is still being implemented by RnD and not completed yet.

However, there are some discussions ongoing with RnD to check the possibilities to provide an alternate solution. Therefore, if you are encountering the same issue, kindly report a support case, so that we can discuss this and provide a solution specific to the customer.

Best Regards,

Thilini

@Thilini Kumarasinghe  @david.harmer , Could you please let me know if this is fixed already from service update 3 and is it already released?
Is there a workaround provided if we cannot take the Service update 3 yet?

Many thanks to you both.

@VinuP We did not install SU3 since we used workaround - our programmer made some changes to the code.

Hi Fordorin,

Can you give specifics on the workaround you did?  We’re experiencing the same issue.  We are not in a position to install SU3 yet either.

Thanks in advance,

-Shane

@IPL_SREVLETT Hi.

It turned out that we forced activation of SVCSCH module in the table MODULE_TAB. Afterwards we ran the script

BEGIN

   Installation_SYS.Create_Component_Package(TRUE);

END;

/

create or replace

PACKAGE Component_Svcsch_SYS IS

module_  CONSTANT VARCHAR2(25) := 'FNDBAS';

lu_name_ CONSTANT VARCHAR2(25) := 'ComponentSvcsch';

lu_type_ CONSTANT VARCHAR2(25) := 'SystemService';

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------

-------------------- LU SPECIFIC GLOBAL VARIABLES ---------------------------

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------

-------------------- INSTALLED COMPONENTS -----------------------------------

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------

--@ApproveGlobalVariable(2017-01-01, IFSAPP)

   INSTALLED       CONSTANT BOOLEAN := FALSE;

END Component_Svcsch_SYS;

@Thilini Kumarasinghe is it ok to use type of workaround from license point of view?

Regards,

Roman.

Hi All,

I wanted to inform you all about a change in the above provided information.

Kindly note that there has been a change in the version of the fix. Since more time was required for the fix, RnD has moved it from 25R1 SU3 to 25R1 SU4.

i.e Fix is included in 25R1 SU4 which was released on September 18, 2025 and not in SU 3.

Thanks and Best Regards,

Thilini

Hi Thilini @Thilini Kumarasinghe ,

this error also occurs when creating a Work Order/Task from the IFS Project Deliverables process (10.4.2. Create Work Order), so at the moment when creating a Planning Item (Execution Type) = Work Task, and then creating Work Order from Work Package.

Could we please confirm that the planned fix (SU4) will also cover this process? I’d like to pass this information on our customer.

Please find the attached screenshot of the error message:

Thanks and have a nice day,
David
