25R1. WorkTask attachment pane. User-Administrator can see and use “eye” icon in attachment pane. But regular user with administrative permissions can’t see  “eye” icon. So user can’t view attached pdf file.

I made some experiments and figured out the only way to allow regular user to see  “eye” icon is to grant  system privilege DOCMAN_ADMINISTRATOR + other permission sets restrictions.

It’s not a good idea to provide admin permissions to regular users but I can’t find an alternative.

Does anybody know way/ways how to allow “eye” icon appear in attachment pane?

Regards,

Roman.

@fordorin  Have you checked whether the logged in user at least has view permission for this document? As long as the user has at least view access to the document this “eye” icon should be visible. You can check the access level by going to the document revision page access tab and clicking generate results.

By granting the “docman administrator” this user gets admin access to documents in the system so automatically the “eye” icon will be visible for them.

@fordorin the easiest way I found to do this is to group users in person_groups, and then enable access for various groups for certain Document Classes. See below:

@Asitha Rajapaksha  @Marcel.Ausan Thank you. It is really connected to document access.

My way of thinking was the following: as soon as user can see document’s card it can see the document itself (attachment). But finally I had to follow Asitha’s and Marcel’s advise to use universal option for access granting.

It is interesting that by default the system creates pairs of rows with permission - attachment. In both access types - View and Admin - it is possible to unlink the document only.

Best regards,

Roman.
