Upgrades & Updates

We are looking to upgrade from IFS Apps 9 to Apps 10.We have quite a lot of configuration, which i fear will fail after the update scripts have been applied (Am thinking due to view name changes)Has anyone been through the process of upgrading, did you need a lot of consultant time or were you able reconfigure yourself?Also, how easy is it to then uplift pages into Aurena?Am thinking of the future, we have quite good skills in house, but with over 3000+ custom objects I worry we will have to budget for developer time so want to get my house in order

Is Apps 10 UPD 9 a pre-requisite to installing the Payroll Update?

After several delivery updates, we had to refresh multiple .XSD files for our reports.  Each time they were different reports and were previous iterations of the .XSD.   The deliveries contained new reports for our Chinese site.   The reports that required refreshing had  been functioning properly and had no recent changes for 3 months.  What would cause the .XSD to need to be refreshed?

Is there anyway of having a saved search that will run and e-mail/send/notify out details of results automatically at specific times each day or week?

What does the future hold for the Call Center?I have studied the Cloud presentation video’s, the Statement of Direction and Roadmap papers. Cannot find any clear description on the future plans for the Cloud Call Center.Will it be merged with CRM?Will it get full Customer Engagement functionality?Will it be a fully automatic ticketing system?Will it have email-to-case functionality with built in mail parser or mail client?Any inside information on this topic will be appreciated.  

We have very recently installed Apps10 UPD10 and in the testing phase. We are very keen on moving to Aurena client. However there are a few limitations in the configurations that prevent us from doing so when it comes to some of our crucial processes. We understand that Aurena is a different platform so although we have configured and grown accustomed to a certain flow in IEE,  that may not necessarily be the best way to handle something in Aurena. We are open to new ways of doing things, as long as we are able to perform things and access business critical information easily and efficiently. So I thought it would be good to share the limitations we are experiencing (the ones where I could not see any workarounds or other ways of doing them in Aurena), with the hope that, this will serve as constructive feedback to IFS, hopefully catalyst to enhancements  and also other customers/partners who have faced and handled similar issues can share their thoughts and ideas. Custom Menus:RMB to

With Updates becoming main vehicle for delivery of fixes and new functionality for IFS Applications there is a greater need for our Customers and Partners to be able to validate impact of merged Update on configurations they have developed. This has been made possible from Update 6 for Application 9 and RTM release of Applications 10. However up to very recently it involved help from IFS Global Update Team who could include export of configurations developed by Customer and/or Partner during Update Analysis and provide list of impacted areas. From second half of 2019 we have even better solution for dealing with Update impact analysis on developed configuration. IFS Product Development made it possible with IFS Configuration Analyzer. Now Customers and Partners can perform impact analysis at any point in time – before, during or after delivery of Update delivery. Tool will present impacted configuration in a list that shows type of impact and allows to export that information to Excel.

Hi Mate, One particuler user reported problems with not saving changes in "my start page". anything what is being changed (added) is not saved after exiting IFS, so all saved searches and titles are gone. Is there any known treat for this?   Amal

Hello,I am reaching out to you to get some information regarding the upgrade projects that you might have done.I am currently working on an upgrade project from APPS9 to APPS10.  It has about 15 deliveries in total including 2 UPDs.  This takes about 30 hours in total to import the upgraded database and to install all the deliveries for the Managed Cloud.I was wondering whether it would be okay to deploy multiple deliveries including both UPDs and sending it as a single delivery.  Has anyone followed this approach before?It would be great if you could share your knowledge and approaches that you followed in the upgrade projects.Thank You

according to what we were originally told , app server / middleware UPD 8 and higher supported Windows 2019. Prior to that 2016, The question is can we upgrade the OS to 2019 prior to applying  IFS Apps 10 UPD 8 without the update 8 and 10 script breaking? Our DB server is already on 2019. Thanks for any guidance or experience that can be provided.

Where does a customer find available patches and / or release notes for Apps9 Updates? Recently learned we did not have a specific patch to properly create 1099s and had no idea a patch was either needed or available. Thanks in advance.

What is functional difference between V9 and V10 from finance module  ? If possible plz share document

Have there been issues Loading Apps10 - Release 6, Release 7, or Release 8?  Were there performance issues with any of these versions?

Hi,I’m not sure if there is anybody who could answer such a question, but I can’t help asking why did IFS exit from China market? As far as I know that IFS is really a good ERP product and many of our customers spoke highly of it. Is there any opportunities that IFS will come back to China again?BR
