Service (Touch Apps, MWO, MRO)

When material needs to be manufactured on a shop order for a work order, how are others handling this? The only Supply Codes on the material of a work order are Invent Order and Project inventory. MRP will run and pick up the demand, but the manufactured assemblies often get mixed in with the production materials. We are currently creating our own shop orders for these, but they loose all connection to what you need the material for other than notes.

We are attempting to analyze how we are using the dates and use them more efficiently in our system. We know that the Planned start date will populate the Material requisition due date, and in turn the Material needed date. Other than that and the Requested Finish populating the Wanted Delivery date we have not been able to figure out any other details about how to use them to plan for any part shipping and picking lead times. We have not yet ventured into the standard jobs and operations, but are simply trying to get the dates to help us. Before the latest patch the planned start date would give the Customer Wanted Delivery date a starting date to calculate the shipping lead time, but now that does not seem to be working either. Does anyone have any suggestions on how to properly use the dates? We are not yet using mobile either.

Has anyone used the Resource Criteria tab on the Project form?  I am looking at it and it looks like we can set priority for certain values over and above just Resource ID.  But what is not clear is what this actually does for us in the application.  The help states that “Once the resource criteria has been decided and entered for the project the resource planning can be performed much easily.”  I do not know what that means.  Is there some sort of external project planning engine that I am not aware of that is going to use this data to plan resources and pass allocations back into the project?   Does anyone have a good use case for this tab/functionality? 

In general it is possible to define different color codes for different person calendar exception types. My question is: is it possible to differentiate as well between calendar exceptions, which are marked as fixed (fixed_commitment) and which are not indicated "fixed"? As this would be a combination of two criteria (exception type + checkbox "fixed"), the second question is, if such a combination can be represented via color codes. e.g. 1.) Exception type "vacation" has color code blue 2.) Exception type "sick" has color code red 3.) Exception type "vacation" incl. checkbox "fixed" has color code yellow 4.) Exception type "sick" incl. checkbox "fixed" has color code green.   regards, Thomas Widmoser

The customer has moved from Apps8 to Apps10 recently and they use SSO for logging in. They have a request to reduce number mouse clicks for logging in. He states as below, First click on the click once link  Second click to download and Run Third click to select the account to log in But if they have a shortcut to the Application, then it is working a bit weirdly. So they are asking if they can optimize the number of mouse clicks before logging in. Is it a possible task?   In Apps10 doesnt it have the 2.0 and IsolatedStorage cache in the machine? I tried internally it always ask to download the Application.

Do we have the functionality to integrate SMS/text message to update the MWO App when it is in offline mode? If the technician receiving the Work Order is in a remote area where mobile internet data is not available, SMS/Text message option may be leveraged to update key information in the MWO App in offline mode.

Dear All, When we go to “Work Order Structure” in IEE, on “WO Details” tab we can see the work task summary on right hand. (Check Attachment)When I am checking the same in Aurena, I could not find this “Work Task Summary” in either “Work Order Structure Navigator” screen or in “Work Order Structure Analysis” screen.Please confirm if we have any other screen in Aurena or this functionality has been removed in Aurena. Thanks in advance! BRHA

Initially A part  was included in work scope as a piece part and not as a module . Later, work scope was changed to include it a s a module. System is not able to remove DSO for A part even though we have not touched it . 

Does anyone know how to make a parameter mandatory? By default they are all optional. Also, is there a way to set a default value for a parameter? Lastly, is there IFS documentation or a manual on details like this? I’ve seen IFS pages that have general  info, but nothing on technical details like the above or what else is doable/possible. As we start to develop our company’s custom reports I’m getting ideas and would like to know the capabilities and what’s possible with QuickReports.

Can anyone tell me how to Delete a Time Report that has not been authorized on a Work Task in Apps 10 UPD 4 and up?  Seems like the simplest thing and I’ve tried on Work Task Time Reports, and The Report In screen and I don’t see the option to delete.  

I’ve set up a work task code rule for external customers with a WIP Code and reversal condition of CO Line Invoiced.  When I transfer the Work Take Sales line to a CO and invoice, the cost is not reversing unless I do the Manually Release WIP and RMB and select Check and Update Accounting.

Dear All, I am working on Aurena in “prepare work order screen” where I found that many tabs like  “Prepare”,” Budget”,”Materials”,”Requisitions”,”Returns”,”CO Information”,”Journal”,”Linear Asset”,MPB Scheduling, I could not find but I can see  these  tabs in IFS APPS 10 Update 6 IEE Version.Please confirm if we have got different screens in Aurena for above mentioned tabs.Quick reply will be appreciated. Screenshots attached for better understanding. Thankyou!Harshit Aggarwal

We are on App8 SP1+.  For a couple of document classes I would like to be able to capture who has viewed a document.  We are storing our documents on a file server not in the database.  Is this possible?ThanksPhil

Hi all,My client is currently using IFS Apps 9 (Global Extension ) Country Solution-INDIA.When i am adding a line and selecting the sales part details in the Return Material Authorization window and when i save it i get an error "The Field Price/Base incl Tax Dmy must have a value".I am not sure why i am getting this error. Has anybody faced this error in this version of the application?Any help is appreciated and thanks in advance.

I have a question. Do you know if the UI designer is available now in mWo Service 10? In the past I could create a custom field in apps 9, add it to the mobile entity and publish it to mWo. Then I could add the field to its respective screen in mwo if I had access to the correct activity. I don't see how to do that in the new mWo Service 10.

We went live with IFS App9 Mobile Work Order for our Field Engineers in September using Apple I Phones as our mobile devices.  Generally this is working well however we have a problem with document transfers from the mobile app. In about 5% of cases although a document revision is being created on the server the underlying document is not being transferred to the document repository. While we know some of these are due to signal issues and engineers not checking that their devices have synced properly. we are getting a number that are showing as status checked out. I am wondering if anyone has seen similar issues and can suggest possible solutions or settings to look at. ThanksDavid BolsterERP Implementation director Star Refrigeration

Is there a setting in IFS that when you create a material demand in mWo Service 10 that it doesn’t create a new Material Requisition, rather add new lines to a planned Maintenance Material Requisition?

Has anyone successfully returned the amount to collect to MWO from the Service and Maintenance module including tax from a source such as Vertex? When we do retail sales, our technicians need a way to determine the amount to collect from the customer before returning the work order.

Hello,I have a situation in MRO,  some Modifications found not included to tab "Modifications" in relevant Disposition Shop order. When I check I see those MOD REVs exist in Work Scope Task has been Obsolete but new revision has been created.Question is, if the “define work scope” consists an Obsolete modification revision will it not included to Disposition Shop order?Appreciate your assistance here. Thanks,Kasun
