The customer has moved from Apps8 to Apps10 recently and they use SSO for logging in. They have a request to reduce number mouse clicks for logging in. He states as below,

  1. First click on the click once link
  2. Second click to download and Run
  3. Third click to select the account to log in

But if they have a shortcut to the Application, then it is working a bit weirdly. So they are asking if they can optimize the number of mouse clicks before logging in. Is it a possible task?

In Apps10 doesnt it have the 2.0 and IsolatedStorage cache in the machine? I tried internally it always ask to download the Application.

What browser are they running?  We are running Apps10 with SSO (using ADFS).  Users do not get the download prompt in the Edge browser.  Chrome and Opera do force a download.

Our users are setup with a desktop icon that is linked to Edge that automatically brings them to the login screen through the Edge browser

C:\Windows\explorer.exe microsoft-edge:https:/client/runtime/Ifs.Fnd.Explorer.application

In APPS10 we do have the 2.0 .net cache as for the IEE client the click once is used. However, you will not find it under the usual C:\Users\<user>\AppData\Local\Apps\2.0 if the customer is set up for roaming profiles. When romaing profiles are enabled this would change to,

C:\Users\<RoamingUserName>\AppData\Roaming\IsolatedStorage\<Files>

** You might not see all the files usual Local\Apps\2.0” content in the above location.

With that said, if the customer is using chrome and has not installed the chrome add on and the msi to support IE links, they will always have to deal with the additional step 2) to download and Run.

If the customer is using a remote desktop sever, the user files will be cleared after logging out of the session and they as a result the user will be prompted to download the IEE files again. If this is the issue the customer is having, you could activate roaming profiles

Hope this helps!
