Hello everyone, I am not able to join part_catalog and technical_class_reference as the key_value in technical class reference includes after the part_no this character ‘^’. select a.part_no, b.technical_class from Part_catalog a INNER JOIN TECHNICAL_OBJECT_REFERENCE b ON a.part_no = b.key_value I tried to get rid of the last character of key_value which did not work: select pc.part_no, tor.technical_class from  Part_catalog pc  INNER JOIN  TECHNICAL_OBJECT_REFERENCE tor ON pc.part_no = (select SUBSTR(tor.key_value, 0, LENGTH(tor.key_value) -1))   I never had such an issue in IFS.    Any idea how to link these views?   Thanks a lot! !--[endif]-->!--[if>![endif]-->!--[if>

Hi    In Project Management Demand TAB , How can I make the FUNCTIONAL AREA and QA Class a mandatory field before the users can save?

As users run Crystal Reports in IFS 8 the Crystal Web Service database sessions never exit, they continue to stack up during the day and must be manually killed. Any thoughts or settings that can be made to stop this behavior?  

We are a Manufacturing company, along with our own products we repair products from other manufacturers, As of now, we have a generic ‘Non-OurCompany’ part number and we repair under this Object Id in our quotations. Moving On, the vision is to registering outside vendor’s parts in our system as Serialized objects to track history or repair etc. I want to know What could be the  best practice in this case? How other businesses are dealing this scenario. Is this handled in IFS someway… doesn’t feel good creating so many parts in our system that we dont keep in inventory and we dont sell.   Point me to some real use cases or reading material to start my research to figure out if this could be a  good route for us?

Hi, Some time in the short future, I’m extracting the presentation object scanner to a standalone headless application, which can be run directly after deployment. This way, no developer has to create these beforehand, nor do they have to remember to log in after the deployment has completed. I was wondering if there is general interest in such a tool, and if I should bother sharing it at all?

Hello! We’re facing a problem with layout upon drill down from lobby. When we click a specific record from lobby, the system shows default layout instead of displaying customized layout. Any way this could be resolved?

We just refreshed our test environment from live. Now used stop_all_servers.bat to stop all servers. All servers successfully stopped.   However upon restarting servers the script is stuck at Starting server ManagedServer1….   Any idea what could be the reason. Looking at the logs it shows  The server 'ManagedServer1' with process id 21880 is no longer alive; waiting for the process to die.

Is it possible to translate text in EE client? Shouldn´t this also be in database like all other translations?   For example, change a text in a EE form from “Create Disposition Data” to another text on NCR form.

We have EDI orders coming in for a specific site (1S).  The customer is setup to receive  the ORDERS message.  The orders are hitting the Connect server and I can see the 850 XML file from the Explore Application Messages screen as it shows the message was posted to queue IN1 and Finished successfully.  However, the order does not show up in the Incoming Customer Order screen.  In the Connectivity Inbox Message, it shows the order was “Rejected” but does not give an error message as to why it was Rejected.  Has anyone else experienced this issue or know the cause?    

Hi All, We are using IFS 9 and we have the following problem with reports:   In much description-fields the text will be formatted by the user using tab key. These descriptions are "unreadable" in reports designed with IFS Report Designer or Crystal Reports:     The C#-forms shows us probably more spaces for a char(9) as the database? How can I show a "nice" formatted text in the report? Can anybody help me?   Best regards Lucie

Hi, I have created a custom LU and one of fields requires LOV. LOV view is a standard view and I want to pass a WHERE clause. In this case, view is DISCRETE_CHARAC_VALUE and I always want to get records in LOV WHERE CHARACTERISTIC_CODE = ‘ABC’. How can I get this done?   Appreciate your response. Thank you.  

Hi, I would like to know if Enterprise Explorer would handle rolling updates in this scenario: Cluster of 2+ nodes NGINX load balancer   The process for applying updates would be: Take down 1 node Does Enterprise Explorer switch over to a new node seamlessly without crashing and kicking the user out? Apply the client delivery to that node Bring the node back up Repeat the process for all nodes… Profit? Is this scenario possible without EE crashing?   NOTE: We only deliver client updates using the installer. Database changes are done manually to prevent downtime. This also cuts the delivery process to a couple of minutes, instead of hours.

Hello, A customer of mine has asked to extend one of the fields in IFS9. My immediate answer was: no go. Don't do it. The change is relatively simple when looking at the table itself, but the remaining things? What is your opinion on this? Regards, Steve

TLS 1.0/1.1 will reach end of support by Microsoft by end of June, 2020. At our company we run IFS 9 UPD 1. We are using IFS functionality to send emails via IFSCONNECT mail sender, we don´t have right now TLS checked We want to understand: The impact in the email sending functionality from IFS, we don´t know if Office365 will be blocking this feature or we will have any change when current TLS versions become unsupported If we can install TLS 1.2 in our current version Thank you, Mariola

We are in Apps10 UPD6 and looking at using the Word Macro functionality (that came out in UPD4) to create our proposal documents for Business Opportunity. Right now - the GET call is prompting us for a database user ID and password.  We actually use ADFS for our user validation, so users don’t have DB IDs. Dear IFS Community   We have found that when users run “Order Reports” or other Built In reports, the “Created” data/time is always the server time, not the time representing the users locale. Where is this set to change the Report time to the users time zone? Thanks. David.

Hello, The problem is when a user export report to excel 1- lost leading zero’s from Check # 2- Formatting is off: Excel shows 2.0031E+13 while actual value in report is 020031003282756   I tried to_number but it gives me error ‘ORA-01426:Numeric Overlfow’   any work around options here. Thanks
